The food was ready quickly and as the food got off the folks behind the counter made sure everything looked good to us (it did!). My Mom gave her New Yorker 5 stars. Great flavor with the sauerkraut and onion sauce. My Aunt gave her Slaw Dog 4.75 stars. Tons of cole slaw (maybe a touch too much). I'd give my Memphis Dog 3.75. The McCants chili is pretty loose, liquidy and there is plenty of it on this top (maybe a touch too much). I didn't think the bun stood a chance against all the liquid toppings but, with some delicate handling, it made it through the whole eating experience. Phew. It was good but I think the chili really dominated the other toppings. The fries were great. Really well-seasoned. The folks behind the counter made sure we had a tasty experience as we left. I always find myself saying "hi" to literally every stranger that walks in. It just ooozes with that increasingly rare "locals only" vibe I love so much. I think the allure of the place is they offer Korean street food in upstate NY. Where else can you get a Korean corn dog (K dog, Gamja hotdog, 감자핫도그) upstate? There are also versions of tteokbokki (rice cakes in a sweet savory sauce) available, the gochujang version or the Rosé. While I didn't try the tteokbokki, the K dog was an interesting take on a corn dog. The crust is breaded with Panko so it's extra crispy. I don't know if the batter surrounding the hot dog is a mix of corn meal batter and mochi or not. It seems to have a distinctive chew to it. I liked it. It's a good intro to Korean street food.
