It took me awhile to get find the time to shop there but I'm thankful I finally got to check them out this summer! I had been considering getting a gift from there for an upcoming birthday but as this person is particular about certain items we ended up going a different route for a gift. Little did I know my boyfriend's parents decided to gift me a gift card to Marigold's Mercantile! I was ecstatic and found a way to make it in!! My favorite part of this store is how they carry locally made foods from local companies. All in Thyme is a favorite in our household as Chef Andrew is a close from of my boyfriend's, so when I saw that they carry some of his sourdough or English Muffins I knew I had to start shopping soon!! My first visit I was on a mission to find a !00% cotton throw blanket, moving away from plastics to more natural fibers, I had a feeling they'd have what I was looking for. They did and of course a variety of other items. I also got several bags of the English Muffins to share with the family on our family trip and a new bandana for our dog. My second visit here I had some of my gift card left over so I wanted to come back and get the mosquito insect repellent incense sticks, I had seen them when I was on my way out the last time and was bummed I didn't see it earlier. I brought my sister along this time so she could see what the store I was obsessed with. We were greeted pretty promptly as we entered by on of the staff members but noticed the other girl was mostly on her phone. I imagine she was maybe working on their social media but I'm uncertain. She did put her phone down when we were ready to check out and the other employee was processing my gift card. They have a great selection of natural products that are plastic free. They have some beautiful wood cutting boards, dish soap bars and holders, locally made soaps, and store made products like insect repellent and house aroma sprays. They have a small beauty section of natural products like bath scents, salts, and sugars, a fun selection of reusable bags, a whole stationary section full of notebooks, pens, and cute additions for the perfect note. As I mentioned before they have doggie bandanas in a small shelved area of cat and dog products! I love that they remembered our best friends!! There's a small selection of cat and dog treats, toys, and supplies which is perfect for the apartments nearby too. On the right side of the store as you walk in there's a fun and vast variety of locally made products like gourmet granola made here in Omaha, other snacks and sauces also locally made. As you walk further in the store they have a small cooler of fun drinks and foods from places like Conscious Comforts!! The plethora of products and the common theme of local, natural, and organic truly speaks to my soul. I'm filled with gladness that a store has opened that can showcase these wonderful products and in an area that is frequented and often busy. I hope this little shop remains successful for years to come! It's also great that their staff keep guests updated on their instagram with new products they have throughout the week! Antique and modern pinball machines were packed into two rooms and each play was super affordable! It is worth mentioning that some of the antique ones were there as display only, but cool to see nonetheless. I spent most of my time here playing a few games and could have definitely spent more time here if I had the opportunity during my short time in downtown. I was chasing Nebraska Passport stops and decided to buy a gift for my grandson while checking in with my Passport. It's an amazing store filled with unusual and affordable toys for all ages. The person who stamped my Passport took me around the shop showing me sensory toys(a big thing right now) building toys and of course books. I picked a book because it's easy to take in a suitcase when I go visit. That was just a sample. When you bring your kids in, they can play with a number of toys set up for "try before you buy". This was a win-win all around because as a Nebraska Passport holder, I got to play Plinko and won a nice gift card. I highly recommend this store.
