Looking for something unique to Omaha, you need to check out this place. Get lost in the maze of shelves and products from candy to Pez dispensers to vinyls and retro video games / pinball. This place has so much to see. An immersive museum store with so many things to experience. Best way to experience is to dive right in and get lost in the past. A little chaotic at times, but you can find some hidden gems that takes you decades into the past.

This place is a gem. If you know me, you know that I enjoy exploring funky little hidden gems while I travel, and while I'm not sure how "hidden" this place is, it certainly is a funky gem for Omaha. On the outside it's advertised as a candy store and also an antique mall. I'm not sure how much of an antique mall it really is, as there wasn't much for sale (though there were a few antiques and oddities mixed into the candy offerings). What this place does offer is room after room of surprise. You're going to find a fully functioning old school soda fountain bar, which honestly was really cool. We didn't stop to eat or drink anything here but I did see folks with ice cream and other treats that looked good. Keep going and you'll find a big room of just about any candy you could imagine. Continue and you might walk into a giant Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. or a full on pinball arcade. The bigger question should be what DOESN'T this place have? At any rate this was a really fun find, and I'm glad we took the time to wander around and take it all in. If you're visiting Omaha this is a fun thing to explore and tack onto your trip.

This place is epic to explore. Not just a candy store but a candy and nostalgia super store with so many rooms and halls to explore. Love all the modern candy , imports, snacks, drinks, etc. I did find some expired and/or stale stuff in what I bought - so pay attention to those dates. Overall an awesome experience and a must visit.

An Omaha staple for candy and more. You can't see downtown Omaha without stopping in here to browse the candy selection. I've been here numerous times, and overall it's a good place. They have a huge selection of candy and treats both American and international. I love the fresh fudge, bark, dipped Oreos, and you can't leave without a buckeye! We always stop in here for pop rocks for our nephew, it's one of not many places I can still find them. We've been to the diner once, and it was a terrible experience. They didn't have anything except plain overdone hot dogs. I'd try it again because the menu had frozen treats, even boozy ice creams, but I'll have to manage my expectations this time!

Hollywood candy is a maze adventure through nostalgia and pop culture in the decades before. There is so much here it is difficult to know where to begin. But we shall try. As soon as I walked in I was mesmerized with everything. There were candy I had long fogotten past my youth. I past through the ice cream parlor saving that for last. I came into adjacent room that held a life size Elvis standing by a pink Cadillac. Behind him a wall of board games. Several I played in my early Elementary years. It was instantly painting the nostalgic culture of my years growing up in the 60s and 70s. I lured my S.O. into the monopoly jail. Unfortunately, she did not give a care for that but obliged me take a candid pic for nostalgic sake. We passed a small theater showing old movies. No one was there. Another room with a collection of pinball machines. The value of that collection had numbers running through my head. Display cases with Barbie dolls again had numbers running through my head and comparing them to my collection. Don't judge. A section of LPs in their original jackets. Nothing worth while there but so cool to see as I reminisce my excitement hitting the music stores of my youth for the latest record albums and hit 45s. It was strange to see Oakley Sport Glass display cases used to store other memorabilia items. Shelves filled with instant Korean ramen noodles. Drink fridges with Asian drinks. I would've have bought some if the prices weren't so inflated. It's nice many of these items that were made of metal as opposed to plastic these days. Like lunch boxes with the favorite shows of the time. And seeing those big klunker Coca Cola machines. Can't miss all big and red. But what can really suck you in is all the candy they some how managed to obtain that you don't see any more in the stores. It's even harder to resist if you have a sweet tooth like me. The diabetes keeps me at bay thank goodness. I wanted to try their shakes but didn't want to spoil my dinner. I vowed I would try after dinner. After dinner I was way to full to try. Maybe next time.

I am so thankful that Hollywood Candy was open during my first visit to Omaha. My friend and I drove to Omaha to knock Nebraska off our list of states to visit and unfortunately the time we visited there was a snow storm which had 90% of city closed. We found Hollywood Candy on a whim because we were looking for anything to do. Hollywood Candy exceeded all of my expectations. The candy shop is massive. There were stand where people were making candy. The selection of bagged candy was also impressive. They had just about everything. I also felt like I went back in time because there were so many retro signs and statues. I almost felt like a museum. They have another room dedicated to pinball machines. I didn't play any but I did see a few people having fun with them.

Hollywood Candy has been in business for years (going back to my high school days and probably way before that), so they are basically an institution in the Old Market. The ambiance inside is a frenetic mix of bright colors, statues and mascots, and even a room of pinball machines. There is also a full aisle for rubber ducks?! We were there for the candy itself, and there was a LOT to choose from. They have rows and rows of glass jars of hard candy, suckers, gum balls, and other treats. Then there are also the pre-packaged candies that line the walls like Reese's, Hershey's and other well known candies. They have an entire aisle of freeze dried candy, too, if you're a fan of that current huge fad candy. Our favorite things to get, though, are the chocolate treats at the front desk, below the glass. Chocolate covered Oreos, Buckeyes (my fave), and chocolate turtles, among others things. Is this the cheapest place to get your day to day candy? Absolutely not. But they have all the options there in one place, which I guess is the draw to the shopper. The place itself would be fun for younger kids to run around and discover so many different flavors, styles, and textures of candy - along with the bright colors and busy atmosphere. I think Hollywood Candy is worth a stop while you're in the Old Market, but personally, it is a once in a while thing for me, due to the cost, overwhelming atmosphere, and abviously not needing any certain specific candy too often!

This past week took us from the Des Moines IA metro to Lincoln NE...and then back and forth between Lincoln and Omaha several times. When in Omaha ending up in the Old Market area is a given. One of the stops we really wanted to make in Old Market was Hollywood Candy. Loved the memorabilia and the candy selection. Really wasn't a fan of the prices... This review is hard to balance... Uniqueness and selection I'd star Hollywood Candy at a 5. Memorabilia and the pinball arcade I'd star it 5 too. But the actual candy prices...more like a 2. Truffles were $4 ea. I can buy the same at specialty chocolate shops for $2 ea. Same for fudge. The loose bulk candy also seemed really overpriced. I accidentally spent $47 in Branson at the Northwoods Candy Emporium on salt water taffy. I feel like that same amount would be $65+ here... smh The building is showing it's age. It could be cleaner, but there's a lot of surfaces to dust and I'm sure it's not easy to maintain. Staff at the counter was friendly enough. I didn't encounter anyone working throughout the store... My girlfriend wanted some of the bulk peach gummy ring candy and there were only three pieces left in the bin at the counter... The gentleman helping her said that was it. They only stock them up once in the morning and when they are gone they are gone for the day... We were there relatively early in the afternoon and they only opened at 1100 AM? I stopped at Dollar Tree later and picked her up a couple bags for $1.25 ea. Probably saved us $10ish... Lol I'm sure there is a lot of overhead here given the size of the space, but they may want to check the market pricing at similar stores. Wouldn't it be better to actually sell merchandise than to have people only come in to take pictures and ewwww and ahhhhhh at the stuff on the walls? 4 stars overall and I feel like I'm being overly generous.

Step back in time and visit this nostalgic staple in the Old Market! It is easy to get lost inside Hollywood Candy with all the different rooms they have including a small movie theater, pinball machine museum, large PEZ dispenser display, arcade, and pen collection just to name a few. Candy of course is their specialty and they have a very large candy selection to choose from. You can find candy from your childhood or hard to find items. Plus they also have a fudge shop and a soda fountain shop.

    Cayden R.

Lots of candy to choose from, helpful workers, and it's clean! There are a lot of choices and things to see here, make sure you have 1-2 hours to look around at everything they have going on!

    Bennette I.

You guys - this place is legit! You cousin get lost in here for hours. It not only has candy but some amazing collections like the PEZ wall, records, movie theater, crazy displays, an arcade and pinball room and some delicious candy. Every person needs to experience this when visiting Omaha and the Old Market District.

Really cool spot with retro vibe. I walked around, would love to come back sometime for the dungeon experience. Lots of candy and pinball machines were cool. Tried to put a quarter in one but didn't work, maybe clearer instructions would be helpful. Bought a mini personalized Nebraska license plate for my son, as I had never seen his name on anything before. Fun find

    EPIC vintage pinball machine collection
    Jen M.

What a place! The arcade of vintage pinball machines is amazing! I will tell you in advance that some are out of order and some of them have some issues like a slow flipper or a weak spring. But they are beautiful to look at and hear, and there is something about FEELING the ball rolling and bouncing around on the board that's so cool. In addition to pinball, there are lots of collections and collectibles here. And lots of candy, I really love candy. So much candy. I got a Yelp check-in bonus for a box of popcorn for 99¢! There is a diner area there which I will explore on another visit. I have been to Hollywood Candy many times, and it's still exciting, every time!

I regularly buy Baker's chocolates at the grocery store but there was so much more selection and the prices were cheaper. For example, the bag of Patriotic Mix was $12.95 while it's usually $16.99 at Hy-Vee for the same thing. Besides the chocolates they are known for, they also had a large selection of saltwater taffy, fudge, and a ton of other candies, some I haven't seen since childhood. In addition to candy, they also sold a lot of locally made food stuffs like Rotella's bread, Mi Mama tortillas, Valentino's, Dorothy lynch, salsas, dips, jams, jerky, spaghetti sauce, you name it. They even had t-shirts, hats, and a refrigerated section for various meats. It was really cute inside and a lot of places for photo opportunities. There was a bench inside and a covered patio outside with a big parking lot. The staff were quick, efficient, and friendly.
