Man behind the counter knew everything about his merchandise and was able to direct us to what we were looking for. Also had great stickers.

We didn't buy anything, but if you have a sweet tooth or like candy, you'll find it here…read more Pretty interesting and eclectic place and if you had nothing to do, you could spend a lot of time here. Pretty much any type of candy you want from newer current stuff to random weird candy and stuff that we grew up eating. They also have a section with vinyl records, pinball machines, toys, displays, drinks, etc. lots of photo opportunities inside and outside the place. Seems like one of the places you should check out if you're in Omaha or downtown.

Had so much fun at Hollywood Candy during my recent visit to Omaha! So many things to see, try, and…read morebuy while you're here. The busiest parts of the shop are the candy and soda fountain section. Lots of nostalgic treats to purchase, as well as decorations and other displays. Lots of other shops within the shop (similar to an antique mall) with records and other pop culture items for sale. My favorite part of the shop were the pinball machine rooms. Antique and modern pinball machines were packed into two rooms and each play was super affordable! It is worth mentioning that some of the antique ones were there as display only, but cool to see nonetheless. I spent most of my time here playing a few games and could have definitely spent more time here if I had the opportunity during my short time in downtown. So glad I got to check out this local gem and would recommend it to anyone in looking to grab a sweet treat or play some games!

It's about a 30 minute drive from Omaha and we had no problem finding it. My first impression was that it was way bigger than I expected and totally worth the trip!! I regularly buy Baker's chocolates at the grocery store but there was so much more selection and the prices were cheaper. For example, the bag of Patriotic Mix was $12.95 while it's usually $16.99 at Hy-Vee for the same thing. Besides the chocolates they are known for, they also had a large selection of saltwater taffy, fudge, and a ton of other candies, some I haven't seen since childhood. In addition to candy, they also sold a lot of locally made food stuffs like Rotella's bread, Mi Mama tortillas, Valentino's, Dorothy lynch, salsas, dips, jams, jerky, spaghetti sauce, you name it. They even had t-shirts, hats, and a refrigerated section for various meats. It was really cute inside and a lot of places for photo opportunities. There was a bench inside and a covered patio outside with a big parking lot. The staff were quick, efficient, and friendly. Glad I finally got to visit this place and I will be back again when my sweet tooth feels the need. :)

Such a cool place! Found this while visiting downtown Glenwood, and couldn't believe the selection…read moreof ice cream, candy, soda and fudge. The girl working the counter was so friendly and helpful, and talked us through everything in the shop. The Dutch Letter ice cream was one of a kind and delicious! We also really enjoyed the puppy chow truffle, and the monster cookie truffle. Cannot wait to go back here!

If your soul yearns for sweets, your pilgrimage ends at The Sugar Makery. This is no ordinary candy…read moreshop--it is a kingdom of delights where chocolate flows like treasure, gummies shine like jewels, and taffy stretches with nostalgia itself. The air carries the aroma of fresh-baked wonders, and the staff--warm, cheerful, and endlessly kind--are like guides leading you through a wonderland of indulgence. Their ice cream selection is a festival in itself: sundaes stacked high with toppings, shakes that taste like dreams spun into cream, and cones crafted with perfection. And then, as if by magic, a wall of sodas appears--rare flavours rising like artifacts from a forgotten age. To sip on a bottle of Moxie again was like traveling back through time. But the true crown jewel? The giant gummy bear, waiting for you to strike a heroic pose beside it, a sweet memento of your journey. The Sugar Makery isn't just a shop--it's an adventure, an experience, a celebration of joy itself. Step inside, and you step into legend.

While traveling to Omaha to visit our daughter we looked for a place for afternoon tea. Others…read morehave commented that that service is friendly but the food is lacking in heat (ie served cold) and a little flavor. I concur. The hospitality was good but the food could be better. We pre-ordered a tea service for 3 but this looks like a setting for two. 1 scotch egg, 1 egg salad sandwich, and 1 sausage roll and two tarts to split among three people. The value for our money was not there. This is a retail shop with a small cafe and not the other way around.

They explain up front how it's cooked, how long it will take (at least 40 minutes), and how to season it or what sauce to use. I'm partial to tartar sauce so I went for that. Super crunchy outside, and a warm flakey fish on the inside - just how I like it! The chips were not to my liking, but that's because they are not like typical French fries. They are softer more potato like texture (they explain on their menu and online). Instead, I tried their sausage roll which is a sausage wrapped in a flakey pastry. Absolutely delicious! And what meal would be complete without a biscuit and jam? Definitely recommend warming it up first then adding your butter or jam. To note, there is not a lot of seating inside, so we took our food home and it was still just as good. They offer a variety of other options in the restaurant/store as well when you stop by. Highly recommend a visit!
