Just a very fun place to stop in as you peruse the Old Market. I recommend the pecan chocolate turtle, the mud ball, and the peanut butter chocolate fudge. All of the fudge is incredibly delicious and incredibly creamy and rich....perfect for the holidays. Personally, I go here much more often than just the holidays. Tiny little store that sells truffles, fudge, and novelty candy. The day I was there they had chocolate covered strawberries. I happily bought 4 of them! The two girls working were super nice and easy to talk to. We chatted for a little bit before I paid. You can also see the gentlemen making the candy through a window behind the register. He was busy making those strawberries! You have to ask for a key for the bathroom, but it was clean and well stocked. Attached to the candy store is an adorable ice cream and dessert shop. There I bought cannolis and a strawberry shirley temple pop. Only street parking, but it's in a really cool area full of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and bars. A cute and cozy candy shop that's definitely worth a stop when you're in Old Market. There's a good variety of pre-packaged candies lining the walls of the shop, but my interest lay in the chocolate counter at the back of the store. I had seen their signature Mud Balls (Oreo/cream cheese centers coated in chocolate) in the Omaha Visitors Guide and got two of those for my boyfriend and I to try. I also picked up a couple pieces of Seafoam Sponge Candy and one piece of their chocolate-covered toffee. All were great choices and rang in at under $4. The items in the chocolate case were $12.99 a pound so I went conservative but definitely could have picked up a few more things for a reasonable price. I have regrets about not getting their huge Grand Marnier truffle, and I didn't even look at the fudge case. I'll definitely have to return next time in Omaha! read more

Dieters BEWARE! This place is so freaking awesome. This adorable little candy shop is tucked into the corner of the old market and feels like something out of Harry Potter or a 1950's photo. It's very tiny and during peak hours gets a little cramped. Like all old market shops parking is an issue but if you ride the bus they drop you off close by. I appreciate all the selections they offer, even if they're evil to my waist line. You can find old favorites like candy cigarettes, sour candies, salt water taffy, jelly beans and more. Alternatively you can try their sinful fudge, take my advice and only get a little or I promise you it'll be gone before the day is done. One of my favorites is the chocolate almond treats or the walnut fudge. It is a little pricey but it is an experience and you'll enjoy watching your child's eyes light up when they visit this place. I've been happily going here for years. This shop is right on the edge of the Old Market which makes it easy to find. Yes, Hollywood Candy has a better Jelly Belly selection, but they're $4 a pound less here. There's salt water taffy; a Haribo display (gummi bears); fudge; a couple of other candies by the pound (licorice; anise drops); various flavors of cordials and chocolates made on the premises. The truffles are a bit larger than is necessary, and at $2 each are a tasty indulgence. Oh man. I think anyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for a candy shop and the Old Market is no exception. The mud balls were akin to cake balls - dense, moist and delicious. The peanut butter s'mores bar didn't knock my socks off, but it was an alright treat and what I expected. While walking through the old market with my fiancé, I mentioned how I frequented the cute little candy shop quite often in my high school days. You can imagine my shock when he told me he had never been there! I knew we had to make a pit stop. Upon entering the busy shop, we were promptly greeted by the employees. We browsed through nostalgic sweets like candy cigarettes, wax bottles, giant lollipops, etc. I was very excited to see they still make the chocolate covered gummy bears I enjoyed years ago. Interesting little candy shop that did not have the selection I was hoping for. The chocolate counter only has a limited selection and did not carry my favorites. I really like molasses chips and jelly chocolates which they do have jelly in sugar free (not my favorite). The other candy selection is decent and you can get some older candies here. I have found much better chocolate shops that are more homemade in selection. I did get the three chocolates to see how they did. The pecan turtle was OK, but it had too much chocolate to other ingredients. The caramel was also lacking in proper flavor with the chocolate. The last one was a crushed up Oreo mixed with cream cheese and dipped in chocolate. That had a unique flavor but is nothing special so was really bummed. I might stop by again as it is a nice little shop but it is no real candy shop just a reseller of others candy and chocolate. Once you find a real chocolate shop that sells seconds and great variety of hand dipped chocolate then you will know what I am saying. If you do want some older candies this is a great little shop, but do not expect great things from it though. I would have to say this is a 2.5 star place sadly. read more
