And though it hasn't been open…read morethat long, it did seem as though there already were regulars, as well as newbies filling up Holy Grounds -- as well as the parking lot and surrounding streets this past Saturday morning. What went well? Delicious latte and cinnamon roulade. Im not a big fan of cinnamon, and the roulade had the perfect light touch -- both with the cinnamon and in the flaky pastry. Staff is friendly, and orders are filled quickly. Everything is really clean and fresh, and the outdoor space during the waning days of summer and impending autumn is quite inviting. What might not be so nice? This Place is quite large ... but does not have sufficient parking for the weekend surge, nor does it have much room for turning around once you've unfortunately committed to that already full lot. Park on the street to avoid the hassle. Enter the shop and you're smack in the middle of the line to order. It's a little disconcerting as folks in line want to leave the doorway space clear for entrance and exit, but then folks coming in arent sure where to go to actually get in line. Maybe a velvet rope and arrow to direct traffic? Again, this place is quite large -- with very high ceilings. That means it's LOUD, not exactly a cozy coffee vibe. I thought I'd heard they do Bible studies here during the week. That sounded lovely, until I found myself leaning over the counter each time the barista asked me a question because I had no clue what she was saying. How would that study work when you are constantly raising your voice to be heard? Finally, though my roulade was delish, as was my friend's (ugh) pumpkin spice latte, her iced pumpkin bread left much to be desired. The icing was cracked and falling off and the center of the slice still was cold, suggesting "fresh" from the freezer, despite having been warmed behind the counter. I bet this turns into quite the gathering place. I'd visit again, but on a nice day when I can sit outside. Sorry, no pics this time!

It took me awhile to get find the time to shop there but I'm thankful I finally got to check them out this summer! I had been considering getting a gift from there for an upcoming birthday but as this person is particular about certain items we ended up going a different route for a gift. Little did I know my boyfriend's parents decided to gift me a gift card to Marigold's Mercantile! I was ecstatic and found a way to make it in!! My favorite part of this store is how they carry locally made foods from local companies. All in Thyme is a favorite in our household as Chef Andrew is a close from of my boyfriend's, so when I saw that they carry some of his sourdough or English Muffins I knew I had to start shopping soon!! My first visit I was on a mission to find a !00% cotton throw blanket, moving away from plastics to more natural fibers, I had a feeling they'd have what I was looking for. They did and of course a variety of other items. I also got several bags of the English Muffins to share with the family on our family trip and a new bandana for our dog. My second visit here I had some of my gift card left over so I wanted to come back and get the mosquito insect repellent incense sticks, I had seen them when I was on my way out the last time and was bummed I didn't see it earlier. I brought my sister along this time so she could see what the store I was obsessed with. We were greeted pretty promptly as we entered by on of the staff members but noticed the other girl was mostly on her phone. I imagine she was maybe working on their social media but I'm uncertain. She did put her phone down when we were ready to check out and the other employee was processing my gift card. They have a great selection of natural products that are plastic free. They have some beautiful wood cutting boards, dish soap bars and holders, locally made soaps, and store made products like insect repellent and house aroma sprays. They have a small beauty section of natural products like bath scents, salts, and sugars, a fun selection of reusable bags, a whole stationary section full of notebooks, pens, and cute additions for the perfect note. As I mentioned before they have doggie bandanas in a small shelved area of cat and dog products! I love that they remembered our best friends!! There's a small selection of cat and dog treats, toys, and supplies which is perfect for the apartments nearby too. On the right side of the store as you walk in there's a fun and vast variety of locally made products like gourmet granola made here in Omaha, other snacks and sauces also locally made. As you walk further in the store they have a small cooler of fun drinks and foods from places like Conscious Comforts!! The plethora of products and the common theme of local, natural, and organic truly speaks to my soul. I'm filled with gladness that a store has opened that can showcase these wonderful products and in an area that is frequented and often busy. I hope this little shop remains successful for years to come! It's also great that their staff keep guests updated on their instagram with new products they have throughout the week! I know I'll be back again soon!

My husband and…read moreother coworkers have tried the various kinds of burgers, but I love the plain ol cheeseburger. The Boys Town burger and blue burgers I've heard great things about. The bun is one of the best parts of the burger, it never comes flattened like you get at the chain places, and it's nice and fluffy with sesame seeds. The fries are seasoned and perfectly crisp. My friend commented they were "cooked perfectly." They have specials every week and change them monthly. The breakfast is also really good, try the biscuits and gravy! Check it out, support a good cause, and take a peek at all the goodies in the visitors center store after you're done with your meal.

The most recent time I stopped in, I got the mud ball, creme bon bon, and chocolate caramel peanut cluster. They were all amazing, but I think the bon bon was my favorite (and my husband's), followed closely by the caramel peanut cluster. I couldn't decide which to get, so I'm looking forward to stopping in and trying more things. There's also packaged candy choices and fudge if those are your things. The service was quick, friendly, and the only thingy that took a bit of time was waiting for the people in front of us to decide what they wanted.

Lots of other shops within the shop (similar to an antique mall) with records and other pop culture items for sale. My favorite part of the shop were the pinball machine rooms. Antique and modern pinball machines were packed into two rooms and each play was super affordable! It is worth mentioning that some of the antique ones were there as display only, but cool to see nonetheless. I spent most of my time here playing a few games and could have definitely spent more time here if I had the opportunity during my short time in downtown. Maybe its clientele all wear adult diapers they need to go home and change? I dont know, but I was afraid to buy any perishables as a result. Tiny, but ok selection of most things, except for Chobani Flips (which I was too afraid to buy), I dont know if they sell any fresh meat, they had processed meats (also, which I didn't buy or even look at.) Only one kind of eggs: store brand 12 pack, no Egglands Best omega 3 eggs for anyone in town. Most of the fresh produce looked pretty good, as did the bagged salads and lettuce blends in back of the others. The ones in front were pretty not good. Prices on some things store wide were really, really high ($7 for 28 tampons) Some things were priced really low (.69 cilantro! Dried spice form, I dont think they sell it fresh) a mixed bag of unpredictableness in pricing and selection. . If I lived in this town, sure I'd shop there. But I wouldn't like it, and maybe I'd go full vegetarian. Located walking distance from a truck stop (if you dont get caught by the railroad police and forced to go around the train tracks the long way, instead of zipping straight across them and turning left;)), or you can get delivery by instacart, but be careful on the prepped, bagged produce. That stuff isn't all fresh and rosy. Make sure you put instructions in there for your personal shopper to grab you a bag from behind all the ones in front if you go that route.
