Another problem that I encountered is the sale shoes which are marked as X% off, but the original price is not on the box. Thus, off you go to find a bar code reader. No one assisting on the entire second floor for men's clothing and shoes plus household products, the latter of which is now a large TV section. Dressing room to try on something? Find it yourself, and finally give up and go in the men's bathroom, as I did. Geeze! Finally, try to find someone to check you out and there is only one overworked but pleasant lady over by the blankets and sheets. A long, unpleasant time in what used to be a fairly good store, until the buyout a few years ago, leading to cutbacks in service and personnel, along with the above problems.

And I understand, during Covid when you finally reopened your doors, you closed your large fitting rooms in the back and opened up two tiny closet style room that you can hardly turn around in. Not only was Covid and the pandemic full of lies, deception, and instilled fear by our crappy government, of what would happen if you did not getting those ridiculous vaccines...but Covid is also OVER! And yet. You STILL have your dressing rooms CLOSED! I asked the very inadequate, and uncaring manager if I could please use one of the dressing rooms due to a long line waiting to get into the small "closets". His reply? "They aren't sanitized". Well damn man! Sanitize them! It doesn't take that long to do with a few Clorox wipes and Lysol. This is the epitome of lazy 101. I'm sure corporate Ross will never see this nor will they care either but I had to vent. I was in there merely looking for some inexpensive long sleeved tops to take on a trip to Switzerland in a few days because the temps are supposed to be very cool. Well. I ended up purchasing them to try on at home resulting in another errand I will have to do to return what does not fit, all because of poor management. I have been in other Ross stores that are actually very nice. This one is the worst. That's all folks! Moral of this story. If you don't mind trying things on over your clothes in front of a mirror at the end of an aisle, or waiting in long lines to try them on in a closet, then this store is for you.

You will need to leave the peninsula and go to a Target in Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, or North Charleston. However, this Target has items folks NEED without having to leave downtown. A lot of folks live downtown and don't always have transportation, especially college students and tourists/vacationers. If the Carnival cruise ship is in port, you will see cruise employees here. This is a scaled down version of a larger Target , with very little clothes, electronics, and a smaller food section. It's mostly self-checkout but if you know what you need, like a drink or a small food item, it's cheaper than a restaurant and you can be in and out quickly. This building was once a Forever 21, and while a Target is "boring" for a King Street tenant, it was definitely needed downtown.

The personal care section is also great. The store carries Crabtree And Evelyh products, like lotions, soaps, etc. There are good prices on name brand make-up and nail polish as well. The staff is super nice and there doesn't seem to be a turnover of workers. They all appear like they enjoy their jobs!
