Luckily for us, Five & 20 was open on Memorial Day. We are vacationing from out of town and saw that they were one of the only places open. And they sure welcomed us with open arms! We were greeted by excited staff and instantly felt at home. We were the only customers the entire visit, so that did make our experience exceptionally excellent. Brooke was our "flight attendant" (of beer and wine and booze), a steward of Five & 20's airline, and she granted us a one way ticket to party town. She was informative, friendly, made suggestions. She was AMAZING. We all loved her and the rest of the crew!! We all got varying flights with different beers, wine, and spirits! I love that you can choose up to 3 spirits for the flight. Everything was delicious. My husband and I especially loved their rum & rye and the Greenwave IPA. There is no formal menu, but they do have cheese and crackers. They have food trucks and live music on certain nights. Plenty of seating inside with a nice, long bar, as well as tables and umbrellas in their outdoor seating area. Totally wish this place was closer to home! Love that they are a winery AND distillery. They have something for everyone. We hope to make a trip back someday! read more

Hosted a wine tour over the weekend and this was one of the stops, Grace was our server and she was WONDERFUL!!! She was very nice, attentive, funny. They have a beautiful outside area with a pond and fire pit area . They have both wine and spirits which was nice and you can get both in the flights . I recommend the rum & rye. read more

At Five & 20 the ambience is laid back which is great and there is no rush or pressure! Great people who were so very welcoming! More than ample inside and outside seating which is always a bonus. Very enjoyable and setup to be so anytime you visit. Offer Variety of pre determined flights as well as build your own. Will definitely stop here again next time we vacay this way! Stopped to try the whiskey. Whiskey was average. Mixed drinks creative and tastee. Low score is all about the poor serviced. Server waited on others, and skipped over us, we felt avoided. This place is incredible and exciting! They have live music, a LOT of outside seating (even for COVID times) and have love music. We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon when no other customers were in sight. We were promptly greeted by a friendly woman who talked through the options with us and poured the wine tasting. I had the Fit Wit Radler -which is one of their own brewed beers. It was tasty for a radler and was perfect to enjoy out in the sun area where they have the picnic tables. This is a neat place to go hang out and try beers, wines and spirits. The staff was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We took drinks out to the patio area and played corn hole and enjoyed the nice weather. They were not very busy for a Sunday so we had the run of the place and had the attention of the workers so they made sure we had all the information about the drinks and if we needed anything else. Disgruntled, disgusting, and disappointing. We walked in at 5:10 pm. Yelp, Google, and door sign all said closing at 6 pm. But the irritated bartender immediately barked they were closing at 5:30. But still time to sample a flight, right? Nope. She hovered until my wife asked for sweet wine. Glared at me until ordering a beer flight. Ran the skimpy cups over and dropped the check before we even sampled the second glass. At the same time, this angry bartender cashed out another couple then swept up the floor all while coughing but without a drop of hand sanitizer or a hand wash. She wanted to go home, shouting into the back for other staff to hurry up so they could leave right at 5:30. Her rude attitude sent a second couple running back out the door before they could even order. We love trying new wine, beer, and spirits, then buying bottles to take home. Not today. I recently visited a cottage on Lake Erie for a week and went to Five & 20, just a few miles down the road, two or three times. It's a fine establishment. First, it's large, with beer and wine tastings and purchases inside, and a sprawling outdoor space that includes sitting areas, a food stand, and cornhole. We spent most of our time outside, buying beer from the tap/register in the back of the indoor space. You can hear and see the passing train across a field, which was a nice scenic addition. And the music playlist was great. As for the drinks, I only tried the beer, most of which I liked, especially the kolsch, cream ale, and brown ale; I'd like to try the barleywine. The prices were great (~$5 per beer, and half off at certain times). I heard the wine was all-right, some of it good, but I've no idea how their liquor is. The food was delicious; I'd recommend the salsa and guac, and salmon toast. The women who run the food stand were really nice, too. One thing to note: weekends bring wine tours. read more

We came to pick up some wines and beers and got a chance to try the Bird restaurant. The food menu is concise and the prices are very fair. We enjoyed the beef sando sandwich, a hot dog, and a spiked Arnold Palmer (w bourbon). Both plates came with chips and proper portion size. The drink was tasty, bourbon flavor throughout each sip and refreshing lemon aftertaste. The outdoor seating has many tables and a wooden canopy to provide shade. Inside 5&20, you can select your wines, liquors, and beers, plus tastings and samplings. Prices are clearly labeled and flavor descriptions are present. Staff is abundant and friendly. It was a fun visit and look forward to trying their concord wine plus IPA. read more

I've been to Five and Twenty twice. If you are touring wine country upstate, it's a unique diversion. They are a winery and a distillery. The wines are limited but good. The limoncello is pretty good. They recently started making craft beers and they are pretty good as well. It's nice to have a selection of spirits, but I'm not sure I can say they excel at one thing. The tasting room and outside area is really nice and quite spacious. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. If you have a large group, they can accommodate you well. This place is amazing! Being from California, I am into the awesome dry red wines the state has to offer. Five & 20 did not disappoint when it came to the selections! I left 4 bottles here with my bf's family so when we come back, we have options for wine! My two star review is based solely on the service we received at Five and 20 during our "minimoon" in Lake Erie Wine Country! All the wineries close at the same time (6 pm during our trip). We arrived in New York a little later than expected, and began day one of wine tasting close to 5 pm. Johnson Estates welcomed us with open arms and wine glasses for a tasting at 5 pm. When pulling into Five and 20 at 5:30 pm, a young woman was taking down the "open" flag and told us to come back the following day, as they were closing. Hoping we could make it one more place, we stopped by Noble Winery. Again, a welcoming employee and wine tasting awaited. Day 2 we decided to try Five and 20 again. We were looking forward to a change of pace and eager to try beer and spirits, in addition to wine. We were disappointed, as the one (different than the night before) employee working knew absolutely nothing about spirits or beer. She continued to tell my husband, me and other customers "that's not my thing" and "I don't know anything about beer." While the wine was tasty, our experience was completely ruined by two less-than-enthusiastic employees and one unknowledgeable employee. You've got a good thing going, Five and 20, HIRE NEW STAFF! read more

It was an ok place, but the beer flights were very small- 2 ounces, not the promised four. We measured.

First time giving a one star review but it is well deserved. The beers were not the problem. The spirits were not the problem. The service was 100% the problem. Walking in, there was only about 6 other people in the tasting room and 3 people working behind the bar. Our bartender had a minor meltdown because she could not figure out how to serve people. First, she made up a "half pour flight of beers" which was no where on their menu or their chalkboard and made up her own pricing for it. When we asked why they were only half pours she couldn't give us an answer. Fast forward 3 minutes and trying to buy six "tokens" for spirit samples. I hand the bartender $20 and asked for six tokens. She gives me four tokens, walks away to pour someone else's beer, comes back and asks what I want. I said six tokens and she said "yeah well you have four so what do you want?" I said I want six tokens. She then said well you have to buy two more. My befuddled response was that I gave her the $20 that was in the bucket with the tokens. She then looked at her coworker and said "Can you do this? I can't handle this anymore." She walked away and out of sight leaving her two coworkers to work the bar. At that point I was given my six tokens, change and my spirit samples. I then bought a pint of Lim Wit and went outside to the patio. After 15 minutes of sitting outside the same bartender that just had a mini meltdown came outside to tell people that they were going to close in 10 minutes. Mind you it was 4:30pm and when we called about their hours we were told they were open until 6:00pm. The place was not packed at all but there was still a decent amount of people for a Monday. I hope this is not the norm for this place but I will never know because I am never coming back (this was my second time coming here). We were visiting my husbands uncle's house on Lake Erie and decided to stop here because we stopped a sign for it on the way in. Let me start by saying that the building / view is beautiful. The beers were average, we got 3 flights so we could try everything. We even took a growler to filled but didn't like any of them well enough to fill it. The service was also less than ideal, and they were very discombobulated. We tried to sample the wine and spirts but no one was available to let us do so. 2 stars for atmosphere, 1 for beer, 0 for service. read more

Place was kinda awesome. When we walked in, my wife, my 2 1/2 yr old we were welcomed with open arms. Wife and i were given 6 free tokens (3 each) due to having our son i tried a few things and the wife sat in the window with our son watching the 2 guys season barrels and brewing beer. They came out of the room a few times and interacted with my son which i though was awesome. Telling and showing him what they were doing. Have been to over 30 breweries and this one close to the top of list. The beer is really good. Bought a growler, 6 pack and a few 750ml bottles for the new years. After purchasing the womn working the bar even helped carry stuff to my truck in the parking lot in the beginning of a snow storm we go up here. Something was very wrong with their bottled beer and spirits. Having tasted their vodka and beers at a Fredonia festival the year before, I finally got out to the shop to purchase some to bring home. A few of us did some tasting in-house and were fairly impressed. Unfortunately, the vodka was not up to the standard I had tasted previously. The lemon flavored spirit tasted good in the shop, but the bottle they gave me to take home tasted artificial like Lemon Pledge. The 2 bottles of beer I purchased were chilled, uncorked carefully, and poured out perfectly flat. Nothing like what we had tasted at the store. The flavor was also perfectly gross, mostly because it tasted of detergent and/or treated water. We honestly had to pour it out because it was undrinkable. The lemon spirit was eventually passed around to see if everyone we knew would have the same face squishing reaction. It was also mostly poured down the drain. The vodka was suitable for mixing, but not at all like the pproduct we had tasted the previous year. For whatever reason, everything in the tasting bar was great but utterly gross out of the bottle at home. The prices were fair, the building was nice, the server was friendly, but about half the money we paid for bottles to take home was litterly poured down the drain. Those were $12 bottles of beer, and I really wanted to drink them. Even thinking about it now, I am pretty angry. There is just no way I will pass on an opportunity to tell people to never buy a bottled product at this establishment. read more
