How cute is it!

This place is fantastic! There is a lovely outdoor seating area and it is very atmospheric indoors - check out my pics! The coffee is fantastic! My favourite so far in st kilda. And I had a savoury scone for breakfast that was full of caramelised onions and spinach and absolutely delicious. My best find so far on Fitzroy street!

I know that Fitzrovia has a fancy dining room with apparently amazing meals created by their chef - I did not experience that. Instead, I came for a Saturday morning breakfast, which was very delicious, and came quickly! ( Yay,my favourite way for a meal to come!) The french toast was DELICIOUS, and paired very well with my extra spicy bloody Mary..... okay fine, they did not quite match, but each were seperately and equally as delicious as the other.I love that even though this is a serious evening restaurant, their breakfast was great and I felt relaxed in their venue. I really do like the space in here, its very modern, clean and has great views out onto the park. I may just have to come back in the evening to see what the chef has to offer for dinner!

As it says on the front of Fitzrovia...Peace Love and Coffee...but it's so much more. A top spot in St. Kilda for an anytime treat. Call past for a takeaway coffee and muffin, grab bagged coffee for your machine at home, a little lunch or quick glass of wine or a great dinner...what's your fancy? The kitchen is open which makes for a cool experience and although not large, it caters to all including functions. A classy blend of modern and Victorian decor with indoor and outdoor seating. Food is delicious, coffee is good as is the wine selection and service. Indoor table or counter service. Street parking only and not so easy to find but tram service right out front. 10 minute walk to the beach and 20ish minute tram to the city.

Rustic decor.

The Good: Fitzrovia has excellent food. The flavours are well selected to complement one another, and the portion sizes are huge. I ordered the Sweet Potato Fritters, and they were perfectly seasoned to bring out the delicate sweetness of the potato. Fluffy in the middle and crunchy on the out, the fritters paired perfectly with the poached eggs and buttery mushrooms. I ordered a side of oak-smoked bacon, and it rounded out the flavours well. The fried Saganaki added a crispy saltiness to the meal, and I cleaned up the plate. My girlfriend ordered the Thick Cut Ham, and although she thought it could have been warmer, demolished the plate. The Bad: We waited 20 minutes for a table (10 minutes was spent without our names on the waiting list, and others were placed ahead of us). This could be easily solved with a hostess specifically for managing the queue, but unfortunately this role has been given to the overworked barista. We also waited another 25 minutes for our food to arrive, and the coffee we ordered whilst in the queue didn't arrive until we were already seated. I was also charged for top quality almond milk in my latte, but was told later that it was long-life instead as the supplier hadn't delivered. No refund was offered. The Ugly: Probably the fake flowers collecting dust on top of the bookcase. Overall: Unless you're starving or in a rush, Fitzrovia is a great place to wile away your Sunday morning.

Sweet potato and carrot fritters with saganaki, mushroom, poached eggs & spinach Palenta chips Spanish breakfast

The sweet potato fritters are a must! Who ever created this dish is a God! Like an orgasm in my mouth, all the flavours perfectly compliment each other so well. it was the perfect portion leaving you satisfied by the last bite, I could not recommend it enough. Palenta chips were also divine. Thick and soft on the inside, crispy and golden on the outside with just the right amount of cheese and seasoning. The service on the other hand could do with some improvement though, maybe a few more waiters/waitresses as we had to remind staff to clean the rubbish off our table left by previous patrons after we had already ordered our food , also having to get up and find menus after waiting quite some time and being served after others who'd arrived after us. All in all, the food was a 10/10.

What a hidden little gem. Fitzrovia is an unexpected find in the busy St. Kilda district. This charming restaurant looks like a page out of the 50's with it's cozy decor. The food however is page from the future. I had the creme brulee french toast. Yummy! The sugar that is brulee'd on top adds a fantastic crunch while the bread is soft and delicious. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. Nothing bad to say here, only positive experiences. Have been twice now and not let down. A must try for brekky or lunch.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had.

From the moment you walk in, there's a buzz that makes the place feel alive without being overwhelming. It strikes a great balance between upscale and relaxed, making it perfect for a date night or a fun evening out. The warm lighting and eclectic design add to the charm and make you want to linger. Service was friendly, attentive, and well-paced throughout the night. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu, checked in on us at the right moments, and made the whole experience feel effortless and welcoming. Every dish we ordered was excellent -- not a single miss. We started with the Cauliflower & Mozzarella Croquettes, which were crispy on the outside and perfectly creamy inside. The Grilled King Prawns were flavorful and cooked just right, while the Kingfish Ceviche was fresh, bright, and beautifully balanced. The Stracciatella & Heirloom Tomatoes was simple yet outstanding, letting the quality of the ingredients shine. For mains, the Duck Breast was cooked perfectly and full of rich flavor, and the Lamb Backstrap was tender and well-seasoned. The Pecorino & Ricotta Ravioli was comforting and delicate, while the Seafood Linguine stood out with generous portions of seafood and a beautifully balanced sauce. The Honey Glaze Carrots were the perfect side -- sweet, savory, and executed flawlessly. Overall, State of Grace delivers on every level -- ambience, service, and food. An exceptional spot that lives up to the hype, and one we'd absolutely return to on our next visit to Melbourne.

It's the decor from extravagant chandeliers to deer heads with pearl necklaces; it's beautifully eclectic. I had an old fashion and it had the right mix of orange and bitters. I also ordered the burger which was decent and the fries were hot and crispy. The night I visited there was a live singer playing tunes. Service was quick and friendly. Even the ordering is eclectic as you order electronically (QR) pasted to a library book. This place is worth a visit.

Entering the restaurant, there was the must incredible smell and while possibly heightened because of my hunger, I'm sure it would have smelled as delicious even if I weren't hungry at all. We sat down and immediately realised that the other reviews are right when they mention how loud it is in here. Big floor to ceiling windows and concrete floors don't do much to absorb the sound, so you might need to preserve your voice until you arrive, so you can yell over to the people you're dinning with. The table was very narrow and hard to fit in drinks and water and phones and cutlery and plates etc, but we managed eventually. The food came out really quickly and was presented beautifully. The salmon entree was superb and light, fresh and delicious. Really good. When the main came out, I was a little disappointed. The Fish 'n Chips were great tasting, but there was SO much salt coating it all, that I had to leave a big chunk of it (and remember, I'm still hungry at this point). The batter tasted good, but it was dense and doughy. The fish inside was beautifully cooked and white. Dessert didn't disappoint. Not only was it also very pretty on the plate, but perfect on the palate. I asked for an ice cream flavour substitution and they obliged correctly. It was a delicious chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream and freeze dried strawberries. So yum. The service here was pretty much spot on as well. Our waitress was friendly and nice, and when my companion didn't like their dessert, she offered another at no charge, or to have it removed from the bill. Everyone was accomodating and happy. The negatives were ... Expensive parking. There's plenty of parking, but for two hours, it cost $12. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but that's why you come here for an occasion. The acoustics aren't great. When I say it's noisy, I mean it sincerely. It's loud. But the view of the water is gorgeous and the decor is nice, and overall I must say I will DEFINITELY come back again to try other menu items (and maybe try it for breakfast one day).

Then again, the mere mention of the word wine bar sort of sends shivers through me, but as a pub, this place was actually not bad at all. Sure, they have a wine bar in it, but they also serve beer, and they also have a rather nice, and quite large, outdoor area. Oh, and the beers they have on offer are also pretty good.

Welcome back the auburn hotel _ established in 1888 - with a little break here and there. As a semi regular - I've watched the slow transformation of the auburn including the menu over the past 12 months to a shorter and sharper offering. Shorter and I think sadly a little too pricey for what it delivers. The real change has been the overhaul of the back room from a grimy pub to a refined dining space. The courtyard area has been doubled and is now a really inviting area with communal benches, mod grass and umbrellas. It's actually s place you want to hang out at now for a sneaky drink. I've been suitably impressed by the impression that the auburn delivers. But... There is still an annoying thing that remain from the Geebung days - e.g. Ordering times - way too long to deliver something like a basic Parma. Previously there used to be "special nights" to entice the locals in - these are all gone with the exception of Tuesday steak night. A little disappointing to be honest as the menu pricing for anything other than a ladies Parma is too rich for most people to go to most nights or on a whim - which is what was great about specials nights. I like what the auburn is trying to achieve. I like the atmosphere they are trying to curate. I (mostly) like the simplified menu but I think they've missed the point of a lovely local when it comes to pricing (9.50 for a side green salad anybody?) and this really needs to be addressed to make it the wonderful local that we will all frequent. 4 for vibe - 2 for menu/pricing. Overall 3 - just. Because I can't do a half star and that pricing is not feeling right to me.

Backlot is a private cinema, open to groups - think work functions, parties, hens/bucks (apparently you can play games on the big screen too). The cinema fits about 80 people and the chairs are so comfy. Big black leather seats and big double seats in the back. Unlike some smaller/pop-up movie theatres, this place gives you the proper cinema experience - dark, big screen, big sound, no distractions from the outside world. There is a candy bar at the front that will play videos (and logos if you're a business hiring it out). They have catering options or there's a small surcharge per head to bring in food/drink depending on what kind of catering you're looking at.
