This is a cool bar & music venue located on Roosevelt in Berwyn. My friend and I came here last month for a concert and really enjoyed ourselves. The room where Mud Morganfield played was spacious with plenty of tables & bar seating. We sat right at the bar corner near the stage and the sound was great. Plenty room to move around and the bar tenders & doorman were very friendly. There seems to be another stage in the building so I'll definitely be back for more shows! read more

She acted like I was stupid for calling and then proceeded to hang up with me after I said okay, thank you. Couldn't imagine what the service was like actually being there. We went for St. Patrick's Day after the kids stuff, around 7:00. Wasn't over crowded, and we got a seat at one of the long tables. Both bands delivered the goods. We were singing, dancing and having a great time until the last band finished up around 11:30. The service is superb. How they keep orders straight, mix great cocktails, don't spill in the crowd.?..all while smiling and being nice...amazing. We go often and will remain loyal. read more

Came here for a concert a while back and it was pretty good. The place is somewhat bare bones but I was near the front and the sound was good. Sightlines were good too. I'd come back for a concert, if there was a band I really wanted to see; it can be a frustrating drive depending upon the day and time since 30 minutes can easily turn into double or triple that when driving from the north side to the southwest suburbs. They have outside parties and whatnot when the weather is nice (if that ever happens). Parking can be a bear, though; that's probably the biggest turn-off for me. I'd leave with plenty of time to spare so you can attempt to find a space somewhere on the street. read more

A single woman, ignored, under served. Too cold to have a band outside. I do recommend the babygold ribs. But, eat them inside the restaurant. The Fitzgeralds server I unfortunately got, should get another gig as serving and personality was greatly missing. I give the 3 stars for the ribs and the band. read more

We spent the evening there last night, listening to a quintet from the Jazz Community Band. It was a terrific night! The outdoor patio is a wonderful venue for watching small group performances, and the Adirondack chairs are an added plus - so roomy and comfortable. I especially loved the de la Louisiane cocktail - I was worried that the absinthe might overpower, but decided to give it a try. I ended up having three - they were delicious! It made the evening feel like I was out in a courtyard in New Orleans! Thanks so much - we will be back for their next performance on October 11, if not before! read more

Unbelievable!! Thank you Jacquelyn!! My wife and I had our wedding party here and it was absolutely amazing. The party coordinator (Jacquelyn) was on top of every aspect of this thing. Planning was easy, she was responsive and she was on site handling any issue that came up. She helped with the food decisions, band recommendations, help us keep costs realistic. Just an overall great experience. The food was amazing, the entire Fitzgeralds staff was helping everyone out. The entire venue was perfect. If you're looking for a party venue, this is the place. So much to offer (BBQ was phenomenal) and so easy to plan. I'd highly recommend this venue and ask for Jacqueline. Thank you so much again for the great experience. Though I am not reviewing Fitzgerald's indoor venue. I am reviewing our first drive-in concert with Chicago legend Michael McDermott held by Fitzgerald's Drive In Concert Venue hosted at ReUse Depot in Maywood. This event was extremely organized and the side lot was perfect location and blend of great music with an amazing backdrop of ReUse Depots building. The way the light hit the bricks was such a great sight. The sound was great and good sight lines . The way this was set up this drive in made us feel comfortable in these social distancing days. I have to say I was very impressed with how organized everything was to top it off. The only minor negative was the need for an extra porta potty... there was only one. The times entry slots made for a smooth process to get to a spot and from there it was kick back and relax and enjoy some live music. Thank you ReUse Depot for all of us to hang out and have a a amazing night on your property. It was so good for the soul to be together! Well done Fitzgerald's crew - ya put together a very nice venue and was impressed to say the least! While at the Americana music festival I learned that Fitzgerald's offers brunch. So, we gave it a try. Very spacious patio and lots of seating options. Both the food and music was good, not great, but quite enjoyable. The potatoes were the star of the show. The food is priced right and one has the option to voluntarily add a cover charge. Our particular waitress was not great but I noticed all the others seemed to be on top of their jobs. read more

We stopped here for dinner on the patio before a concert. The cucumber mule was ok. For a $10 drink, I was a bit perturbed that it was served in a plastic cup. My hubs enjoyed the local beer, Babygold, that paired well with his bbq. I had a shrimp po' boy. The shrimp was not breaded and was chopped up. I'm used to having whole fried shrimp in my sandwiches. Taste was on, a bit too heavy on the raw onion, but the onion rings were good. Service was good. We went into the indoor venue for the concert. There are only a couple little tables in the back of the room, so you can't really see from the seats. Floor is standing room only. It didn't get overly hot, which was greatly appreciated. I would return for another show in the future, but probably choose a different place to eat ahead of time. read more

This review is for the current menu's food. I'm giving it three stars because I don't want to completely tarnish the overall rating of this place. The server and young man at the door were very friendly and accommodating. We sat outside and ordered from the menu. Four of us went for dinner and to hear the live band. The live band was playing and the acoustics were good for outdoors. Very pleasant, cozy space to enjoy music and have drinks. Now, the food? "Babygold Barbecue" Awful. Awful. Awful. The Greens tasted like they swam & soaked in vinegar. Some vinegar is fine (I definitely add a little vinegar to my greens when I cook them) but this was just way too much vinegar! Pulled pork sandwich-was told it was only "ok" at best. Turkey breast? Not terribly dry but dry enough to have to use bbq sauce on each bite....and super salty! Not good at all. Mac & cheese- bland....I make way better at home....in fact, Boston Market makes way better! The only decent item we had was the cornbread...it was pretty good but not great by any means. Yes, go to Fitzgerald's for drinks and/or live music, as well as cozy ambiance but eat elsewhere first. read more

I've seen 4 performers/bands on the main stage and attended at least 20 Young Artist Open Mic nights in the Sidebar over the years. We are fortunate to have such a solid local venue that books a range of quality musicians. We are grateful our teen got the chance to participate in the fantastic monthly Open Mic for three years before heading off to college. A great value at just $5 per person cover. Mike does a fantastic job on sound and there is a full bar for grown-ups. Street parking is free. Dinner at Capri next door is a great way to start the evening before catching a show at FitzGerald's. read more

I just spent $80 on a chicken leg quarter with 2 lil ass sides, hot link platter that looks like store bought polishes, lil ass container of fish dip with club crackers that are also from the store. I could have out this s together at home and spend a whole lot less. The fish dip is very tasty but I feel like I can go to costco and get the same thing but a whole more for less than $12. Fon't they understand it's damn near a recession and they pull this BS. Won't get my hard earned $ ever again. Maybe my standards for quantity and quality is alot higher than what this resturant wants to put out read more

Came here last night to see Brother Elsey & The Darling Suns- loved it! Fitzgerald's gives off such a cozy, nostalgic vibe. Staff was nice when I couldn't find my way to the nightclub I was trying to go to since it's like two separate spaces. I ordered the Golden Elixir mocktail and waffle fries- fries were SO good, the right amount of crispy and seasoning. I would've given 5 stars, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the drink and parking was pretty scarce. read more

If I could rate no star I would. I am appalled how Babygold BBQ at Fitzgerald's gets away with their pricing on the food menu. I ordered the brisket platter @ $25, Chopped, as the mgr recommened as she said we would get more pieces and from business to business perspective let alone from a CHEF perspective I am insulted with the pricing of what I ordered. The brisket was super salty, the side of cornbread was overbake it was dry. This was less than the 1 person portion that it couldn't even fit on top of the flimsy sad looking slice bread . Better of going to Mickey's with their riblet dinners. I will never come back to FITZGERALD'S. read more

One of my favorite things to do during our long winters is to listen to live music. I like to go to the Side Bar at Fitzgerald's where you get to listen to some really good music for free (I always use the tip jar for the band), you get to have a reserved table and the bbq is pretty good. I like their brisket the best and their beans. But back to the music! Lots of great bands that play different types of music are there on Friday and Saturday nights. They start playing around 6 thru 8pm and then if you want to go see the headliner at Fitzgerald's main room, you can do that, too and make a night of it. read more

This venue hosted our wedding - the barbecue is awesome and the cocktail menu was delicious. The music by Gerald McClendon was killer and had every generation dancing. Jacquelyn who coordinated everything at the venue was excellent and made everything so easy for us. I've been here for shows before and always have a great time. My buddy and I went here on a random Sunday afternoon (Labor Day weekend). As we walk in, someone from the establishment asks us if we have reservations. I figure they must be real busy. This is a bar with an outdoor patio and live music. We say no, but it was just weird. He did tell us we did not need any, but we would stay out of the way. We went and just had a few beers at the bar. The bartender was nice enough and we got our beers. It was just weird as there were quite a few empty seats. read more

What a fun brunch! Came here from Los Angeles and loved the whole vibe, with country bands apparently the Sunday feature. There were couples dancing, and grandparents, parents, and little ones at tables. We had brisket, a vegan burger, and shrimp and grits; all of it was delicious. Service/prices were great. We also got insider insight from a friendly employee who told us what to/not to do and see in nearby Oak Park. The pork and beef bbq sandwich was delicious. I wouldn't recommend the burgers, they're good but you could tell it's frozen Pattie's they use. You come here for their barbecue dammit. They also have a nice drink menu. Some days have better service than others, depends on the event and what area you get seated in. Making an online reservation is a little complicated, but the staff is accommodating in person. Hoping for more live shows and Spanish music at this event space. I haven't tried their brunch yet but it's on my list! read more

What a great place! I stopped in to check out trumpeter Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers. $25 cover, 9pm show. The venue is standing room only with a House of Blues type feel. It would comfortably hold 250 people but I suspect it was closer to 350 in there. It was packed but a ton of fun. For anyone who has heard his music, you know he is an awesome entertainer. He plays songs he has written but he throws in songs he may have heard on the radio that day, songs by other artist and even impersonates playing styles of other Nola jazz musicians. When he played "Hey Now" a New Orleans classic & Mardi Gras fav, the crowd went wild. He also played the The HBO series Treme theme song. The melody makes you move. Kermit also brought on Nayo Jones, a singer originally from Chicago but currently living in New Orleans. Nayo sang Living My Life Likes Its Golden, Funny Valentine and At Last. Her voice was amazing and selections covered the spectrum. If that wasn't enough, the drummer also led a few hits which got the crowd pretty hype. The show was 3 hours long with only one 20 minute break. The bar carried everything, but most importantly, Angry Orchard. Can beers were $3 which is pretty cheap by my standards. The bartenders were attentive and quick on their feet. If you needed a break or space, there's an outside patio with chairs and tables. And in front, a guy was grilling sausage and barbecue. I am so happy I gave this place a try. I had a blast and will definitely return. read more

And if the bar staff prides themselves on being extra super DOUCHEY, then this place hit the trifecta! I've been to Fitzgeralds many many times over the years...but in the past 4-5 years the bar staff makes it almost impossible to justify spending ANY money here, any more. They are the RUDEST people I have EVER come across, as they TAKE my money. I am no loss to them, they could care less that I will never go there again. Music Festival is not the same since new ownership. This is the second year in a row where food was running out by 6:45 pm and food that was left was just Ok. There are no fans under the main tent outside and people were overheating. Open the tent sides for air. If you're going to do this fest have more food and invest in fans in the outside tent.
