Well everyone's food was good from what they said. They had to redo my food twice and both times they were wrong. But I just ate it cause everyone else was done with their food. That was my mistake because it immediately made me feel ill and made my stomach hurt a lot. I immediately had the feeling up throwing up before leaving the establishment and again once I got to the parking lot. I would give this a worse star rating but the waiting staff was amazing and besides my food everyone else enjoyed theirs. read more

I've been wanting to get back to Stacy's for quite some time. I was here in the past for dinner and remember having a nice steak while enjoying the supper club vibe. My friend and I decided to pop in here for a quick bite before a game just to check it out again. We arrived late afternoon before the dinner rush. It started picking up just as we were leaving. Our server, Jess, was real nice and welcoming. She got our drinks and started us off with a basket of warm bread and some classic crackers. I ordered the French onion soup. The cheese on it was absolutely delicious and the broth was pretty good as well. The onions were disappointing. It seemed as though it was the outside part of the onion...the layer that you throw out when peeling it. Jess recommended the rib appetizer plate. It was really good and we were glad she steered us in the right direction. We plan to go back sometime for dinner and maybe even catch a night when they have live music. They have gaming on the back wall past the bar, and there's a small parking lot out front. read more

I have driven Mannheim numerous times, always wanting to try it. This is a small neighborhood place; the bar and 6 slot machines take up half the restaurant. We were seated at a booth along the windows. My friend noted that the booth seats are not anchored down, and every time they got up or sat down, it was felt by my friend, I'm sure the opposite was true as well. Our table was in the bar area, and it was LOUD. It was Friday night, and many patrons were out for a drink with friends. The room in the back would be much quieter. There are two ways to approach this restaurant their burgers are very reasonably priced, starting at $11.50, going up to $14.00. Othe sandwiches start at $15.00 and go up to $17.00. There also is a Butt steak sandwich for $23 and a Prime Filet Steak Sandwich at $25. The other side is the steak or seafood place; dinners start at $24, going up to $65 for the surf & turf or $66 for the twin lobster tails. I had the Butt steak & fresh catch of the day. Today's catch was Sea Bass (different from Chilean Sea Bass). The preparation on the sea bass was excellent! Tender and succulent. The Butt streak was also excellent. It was served with a choice of potato and steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. My friend had the Stacy burger with cheese and was very satisfied. Another friend ent for the queen's cut prime rib. He said it was pretty standard as prime rib goes. He did order the garlic mashed potatoes and found them not to his liking. In fact, no one at the table liked them... and I love garlic. The potatoes felt dry and greasy at the same time. The texture was also off-putting. We would come here again. read more

Outstanding service and the Stacyburgers were fantastic for this old Claus couple who had their earliest dinner ever. Mrs C went with cheddar and loads of grilled onions. Santa stays away from onions but his bleu cheese was rich and flavorful and a perfect medium rare. Well, this place is legit I got the 12 ounce New York strip vegetables, and when the lady asked what type of soup I wanted???? I've always loved the 50s supper club vibe, and Stacy's delivers this in spades. From the decor to the servers, I felt like I'd stepped back into the 50s, but in a wonderfully satisfying way. The French onion soup was to die for, my filet was cooked perfectly and was nicely flavorful, and the Manhattan was exactly as a like it -- just the right amount of vermouth. So few places get it right these days, or misunderstand and serve me an old fashioned. I could tell they know what a Manhattan is here, and it was also a nice, generous size. My friend had the prime rib, and said it was delicious. It was also a generous portion, and she took some home to enjoy later. Overall we had a great meal, made even better by a large group of barbershop singers having a dinner in the room next to us, who treated the restaurant to a couple songs as we were waiting for our food - how fun! We both loved Stacy's, and we're already making plans to return. read more

I've been coming here since the late 90's. It's very comforting to dine here. Most restaurants have wild variations but not this place. I order a hamburger often and it's grilled to perfection (medium rare) every time. Toppings are fresh and fries are hot. Every aspect is consistent: menu, quality, and waitstaff. Most items are housemade and not frozen /microwaved. From the hostess, waitress, cooks, to the busboy ... service is prompt and attentive. Lots of loyal regulars. read more

ok. first time dining here, on recommendation of a friend. walking in the front door is like stepping into a 1970s door county supper club. the curved wood bar packed with patrons enjoying old school cocktails - the bartender's special is a brandy old fashioned ($7 and highly recommended). there's a football game on and it's saturday night, so the room is loud, but nobody cares. the staff is top-notch, from the polite & helpful hostess to, to the bartender, to the amazing waitresses and busboys who will scoop up your dirty dishes before you even have a chance to set them down. the food: WOW! HUGE king cut prime rib ($30) that you can easily manage without a knife. juicy, tender, flavorful - perfectly cooked to medium rare. upgraded my potato to twice-baked (for a buck) and it was delicious. dinners come with soup (the decadent baked french onion is a super-cheesy house special) and a good-sized salad that is more than just iceberg & tomatoes (house-made croutons are a nice touch) with choice of homemade dressings (1,000 island is excellent). added a decadent side of mushrooms sauteed in butter, white wine & herbs ($6) and a slice of peach pie ($6) a la mode for dessert. even the decaf coffee was fresh, strong & delicious. washed it all down with a big, legendary top-shelf manhattan (served neat in a martini glass) which reminded me of the old days at Eli's steakhouse. all-in, the two of us had a great night out with 2 huge prime rib dinners, 2 desserts, 2 coffees, 3 cocktails and tip (not to mention the giant doggie bag of leftovers) for exactly $155. but the best thing about this place is the incredible staff. no douchey mixologists (but hipsters could learn a lot from the man behind the bar) and you can tell the cooks are experts at this classic supper club menu, which isn't as easy as you might think. everything we tasted was flavorful and cooked perfectly. everyone we met was friendly and professional. i've spent my whole life working in restaurants, so it's really a pleasure to find one of this quality close to home. and the prices are really very reasonable! we will definitely be back. tip: the kitchen is open until 11pm, but call ahead for a reservation and tell the hostess if you're planning to order prime rib (fri & sat). self-park lot (free) gets full early, but seems to thin out after 8:30pm on weekends. read more

Someone recommended this place, and I went on a Friday night. It's on La Grange Rd. north of 290. The building doesn't look like much from the outside. It's a Greek place, but they have so much more. The place had an interesting feel to it. It had low lighting and some people were dressed up a bit, but I didn't feel uncomfortable in my shorts, flip flops, and Flash t-shirt. They have a full bar that had this interesting neon red light around the top. Appetizers: We had the crab cakes and sauteed mushrooms for appetizers. The crab cakes were drizzled with a tangy sauce. Mushrooms were sauteed in something similar- lemon juice, etc., and they were both excellent.. There was a huge selection of entrees. Each entree comes with a soup and salad. I chose the popular baked french onion soup, and it was as good as I've had anywhere. I upgraded my house salad to a small greek salad. It was also very good. I had diet coke to drink and soon found out there were no free refills on soft drinks. We had the Greek style pork chops (excellent) and much more than one person could eat after the lead-in we had. It came with green beans; probably some of the best beans I've had. I chose the flounder almondine, flounder with lemon, butter, herbs, and stuffed with spinach. Rice and green beans on the side. The bill for 2 appetizers, 2 diet cokes, 2 entrees, ended up being $70-something. With the appetizers it was almost too much food, but I wanted to try a variety on my first trip. The service was fine. Our waitress was "Chicago pleasant". The coconut chicken was good at least 3/4 of it. There were a few pieces that were burnt. I'm not sure why they got put on the plate but they did. The crabcakes were super thin and spicy. They need to add "spicy" to the description on the menu. I definitely don't recommend the garlic bread. The french fries were hot and yummy and the cheeseburger was pretty good. The hot beef and mashed potatoes wasn't great. We ordered 2 amaretto sour's and they both had a fruit fly in them. The waitress promptly took them and had them remade. We ordered a Captain Morgan and Coke and got a Jack & Coke. They remade this drink as well. Overall not a great experience for the price. read more

If the outside 'almost' looks like a home, then the inside is exactly like someone's home, complete w. several rooms in which to dine. We dined in the main, right next to the large bar where a few patrons were getting their "afternoon" on. We were working so stuck to some pop and a meal. The menu is pretty diverse but I quickly noted they serve prime grade burgers so went with one of those. It was pretty good, not great but satisfying nonetheless. I continue to patronize Stacey's once a week. I wanted to update my 5 star rating from nine months ago. This rating is even more deserved with this serial experience. I have gotten to know the owner, Penny, and her daughter Stacey for whom the eponymous restaurant is named. They both demonstrate a full commitment to quality and customer service. I just had the lasagna and it was better than the best of the Italian joints in Chicago. I have a goofy in-law who I will call "Trish' She hates everything and everyone and has the demeanor to match. Trish gave Stacey's a try and was actually transformed into a temporarily pleasant happy person by the end of the meal. If you know someone who needs to be cheered up, bring them to Stacey's for a real Happy Meal. read more

I LOVE this place! They are one of the very few restaurants still serving the baseball cut butt steak which is the most flavorful steak you ever had for an incredibly reasonable price. Don't believe other places that have "butt steak" on the menu - this is the real deal. Amazing. The sides are great too, especially the French onion soup. While driving to the Yelp party at Quartino, my car said "clunk...clunk....CL-CLUNK" and then fainted. There's no rush like that of being broken down on Mannheim in heavy traffic. Nice dude comes out of Stacy's, a place I've driven past several times and wondered about. He and his buddy push me into the parking lot and all is well. Stacy's turns out to be a clean, friendly bar with lots of nice guys, having a drink after work. Guys with a wealth of knowledge on the fairest mechanics in the area, plus one or two of them had a family member cured by the doctors I work with. They make the calls for me, set me up nice and sweet. Two others went back outside to try to diagnose matters. I stayed for a beer, which they wouldn't let me pay for. Wanna be that way? Ok, so I got a little out of line and had the bar waitress set up the gentlemen with a round, which was met with a collective "NAAAAW," Sunday Bears game disappointment-style. Stacy's is a gem. Okay....it's not some fancy uber trendy restaurant, but it's a rock solid comfortable place with great food. Very loyal regulars yet when you walk in you feel welcomed. I drove past this place so many times and always wondered about it. My sister-in-law recomended it and we went. Awesome steak. Great homemade dishes. Just a neat place. This "hole-in-the-wall" type place is a favorite of ours. It's extremely close to our house which makes it even better. Get a reservation though, because on the weekends, it's very hard to get in! Stacy's prides itself on having all fresh ingredients - and it shows. They are so reasonably priced, it's ridiculous. We leave spending less than $50 for two people on salad, soup, steak, and potatoes - can't go wrong! We adore their salad because of the great ranch dressing they have. After the salad comes the soup - you MUST get the baked french onion soup, it is seriously to die for. Loaded with cheese (but not too much!) and just the right amount of saltiness, this soup is baked to perfection. We always order the butt steak - always delicious and perfectly cooked! The decor of this place reminds me of a Wisconsin north woods bar/restaurant. I love it! Cozy booths, white tablecloths, pine tree prints on some of the dinnerware. The bar looks so "old-school". Love it! The staff told me that they have their "regulars" who they love but they are always welcoming newbies. I couldn't get enough of how cool this place looks! Food: The wife has been here a few times and for me it was a first. She had a nicely cooked filet with a generous piece of walleye. (Did I mention the north woods?) I had a very tasty slab of ribs. I had fries with my entree. I think how a restaurant does their fries can be very telling...they were thin and crispy and delicious. Dinners come with a basket of bread and crackers, soup, (baked French onion is the house special) and salad. My daughter had appetizers for her dinner and took a bunch home. Coconut shrimp and chicken and some really nice wings with a deliciously semi-spicy sauce. I don't think the desserts were house made but the apple pie ala mode was great and the cannoli was huge. Will NEVER go back . They put big parties ahead of regular customers. Been going there for years. Sent hundreds of people there. Had 5:30 reservations Penny said can you be done by 7:30 ? We have a big party at 7:30. We said, absolutely we were with my teenage children.. We are ready to order dessert around 7,she said we had to leave. The big party of 20 for the back room has been there at 6:30. Not my fault. My wife and I were wondering was there reservation actually at 6:30 instead of 730?
