If you are looking for jeans, this is THE place to get great quality, fit-like-a-glove, stylish denim. I write this from the West Coast, where there are plenty of high-end "made-to-order" options. I am someone who has scoured my own city (LA) for the type of jeans that keep you coming back and trying different styles, that are made well and are not adding to wasteful fast-fashion trends. Based on my experience with buying denim, it has been a daunting task. I am hard to please and finding specific details I want, I'm usually forced to go the custom route. I searched for a few months to find the right company to customize my denim desires. Searching the bottomless abyss, also known as Instagram Explore, I happened to find Fitted Underground. I am big supporter of small local businesses and value the opportunity to meet the brain child of such. After perusing Fitted Underground's website, I decided to contact Customer Service via email. I was shocked when I received a response within a half hour from the owner, Eric. Eric and I exchanged emails and decided to meet at his workshop the following week to purchase a pair of custom jeans. When I went down to Fitted Underground's base of operations, I was impressed with the "no frills" decor, bolts of fabric neatly placed on shelves, and the dozen machines used to create the denim masterpieces. I knew immediately I was in the right place with a craftsman who was serious about his work. Eric pointed me to some ready made examples of his work on display and I decided on the fabric of my choice-the 16oz Nihon Menpu dark indigo selvedge. I expressed to Eric my concerns about being a hard fit based on my physical composition for jeans, without any hesitation, he said he can made exactly what I wanted. Eric then took my measurements and gave me a sample pair of pants to try on. With a few adjustments based on my preferences, the custom denim order was complete. He locked in my measurements and gave me a lead time on completion. My first order with Eric and Fitted Underground felt like visiting an old friend. We had some small talk about products and a brief rundown on why I chose his company. Eric is extremely knowledgeable about all of his products and can defuse the skepticism of a first time venturer who would normally dive into high end denim. I, on the other hand, am no neophyte to the selvedge denim world and was joyful to find someone who cares about his customers. The day that I went to pick up my new jeans, I took two of my children with me. They were 8 and 5 with the energy of a category 5 tornado. Eric of Fitted couldn't be a nicer guy, making you feel welcome in his shop as he helps you pick out which type of denim you want your new jeans made out of and sizes you up. The jeans themselves are amazing. To the untrained eye they are regular blue jeans, but upon further inspection the details and craftsmanship are outstanding. I've been a customer of FITTED Underground since the company first started some 3 years ago, when Eric personally fitted me for a pair of blue Denim jeans. I've got pretty chunky thighs and have always found getting stylish, well fitting jeans to be a real challenge - I always had to go baggy and boot cut as skinny jeans would never fit. Well let me just say that my first pair of jeans from Eric were fantastic - custom fit meant I could go skinny but comfortable. I've not bought jeans from anywhere else since as there's no point - they won't be as good. FITTED Underground has my measurements, so I just order online and then I'm all set with my next pair! Best fitting jeans I've ever had. I was a little intimated at the idea of having something custom made. But Eric is just about the best dude you'll ever meet. His fit process was really cool, quick, and informative. There are a bunch of options including some really gorgeous raw selvedge Japanese denim from mills like Nihon Menpu and Kuroki Mills. There are a few others like something from cone mills and Candiani, but let's be real, Japan is where it's at. Those cost is really on par with other high end denim makers, but consider these are made to your size, no having to get them hemmed or tapered which can add quite a bit extra to your total cost. I tend to hold onto one pair of jeans for a long time, but in case you like options, Fitted keeps your measurements on file, so you can just pick another style or fabric and they'll make another pair that fit just the same. American made in Brooklyn, Japanese denim, perfect fit. Couldn't ask for anything more in a pair of jeans. I may never buy from anyone else again! read more

I'm in love with my FITTED Underground jeans! For the past several years I have struggled with jeans. Not so much fit, but the quality of denim was never right for me. I was lucky to have a pair of jeans for 3 months before the crotch would blow out. Obviously after spending 100+ per pair this can get very discouraging!! One morning I just couldn't take it so I came to YELP to find a quality denim store near me...and this is when I found FITTED. I read through the site and I decided to reach out to Eric and schedule an appointment. Eric came back within a couple hours and told me to come right in. So already the ease of scheduling and response time had me very interested. I went to Eric's studio and he explained his process, asked me some questions, and I tried on his fit pair for sizing. He is super professional! You can tell he loves what he does and it obviously shows in the quality of his work. However, customer service is HUGE and Eric checks every box. I told him I was looking for 3 pairs so we picked out styles and denim. Eric has so much knowledge so he offered great suggestions through the process which made me feel very comfortable. Obviously a product and service like this isn't cheap, but very much well worth it! He explained that he would make the one pair so I can see the fit and if I was satisfied he would make the other two...which makes total sense. This is an investment and he obviously wants 100% satisfaction. Two weeks later I went back to his studio to get my first pair. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS!! They're the best fitting jeans I have ever owned. And best of all, I don't think I will have to worry about any crotch holes any time soon! Two more weeks and I got my other two pairs.... JUST AS AMAZING. I wanted an every day pair (the first pair I received), a pair for weekends which are a bit more funky and casual, and a more formal pair to wear to dinner or a night out....I got exactly what I wanted. He graciosuly invited a large number of us Denim Head types to his shop in Brooklyn for a BBQ and get together the Friday night before the event. While at Denim Days on Sunday I had Eric size me up and take my measurements for a pair of bespoke selvedge denim jeans.
