Look, I am a working class gal without the funds to be blowing on expensive jeans all the time. But, having garments that hold up is really important to me, and I know the two often (not always) go hand in hand.
I purchased a pair of Lydia jeans (valued at 170 bucks), that I had eyed for months before letting myself splurge. I'm 5'0" tall and finding jeans that fit is a real pilgrimage. Courtshop does complimentary hemming, which helps justify the price. Two months after purchasing them, they formed a crotch hole and I was mortified. I got in contact with them and they offered me the best customer service I have ever experienced. I was given the option to either wait for them to get a new shipment of those jeans in a few months, or get a full refund. Either way, I got to keep the damaged jeans. I was assured this was not their standard quality and they seemed just as shocked as I was. I believe this, because a small company like this one can not afford to extend this stellar refund policy for too many damaged items.
When I walk into smaller stores with expensive items, I feel like both of us know I'm not going to buy anything and I'm usually ignored. This has never been the case at Courtshop, who have always accommodated me. They often markdown their jeans significantly and have incredible sample sales. I've since bought a few more pairs of jeans that normally retailed for about $150 for $50. I can't recommend this place enough. read more
