I'm honestly torn on this place. I've now brought two garments here to be repaired. The first time, I bought Zadig & Voltaire dress second hand, but when I Dryell'd it to freshen it up when I received it, the white fabric around the underarm area was basically ruined, presumably due to deodorant products used by the previous owner. I tried hand washing it to remove it, only to cause the delicate silk to run. I brought it in to see if some fabric could be excised from the underarm areas to make it look normal. She did a fabulous job fixing the dress up; you seriously could not tell anything had gone awry with the dress! And the price was very reasonable to boot--around $10! The second time I did not have as great of an experience. I bought a second-hand Givenchy wool coat, and after I wore it for some time, a small tear developed in one of the seams on the arm. After the positive experience I'd had with the dress, I brought it in for repair. I was expecting a more or less invisible repair like I'd gotten with the dress, but when I got it back, there was dark brown stitching in a criss-cross pattern running up the arm of my camel colored coat! Needless to say, it was very visible and very disappointing, especially given the value of the coat. That "repair" was $15. Overall, if you're needing repair if a high-end item, I probably wouldn't take the gamble of bringing it here. However, for your basic hemming needs, or simple repair of a garment you're not as attached to, this place is probably just fine. read more

Highly recommend. Independent little shop that really knows what they are doing. Went into pickup my bridesmaids dress and tried it on finding that it needed a little more work. I wasn't charged extra when I came back the second time! They both shortened and brought in my dress which is a chiffon fabric aka hard to work with! My husband also took some Scandinavian style sweaters with straight up holes in the part where the pattern is. They fixed it and you can't even tell the difference at all! It's not organized, clothes everywhere, they don't speak a lot of English but enough that they know what you want and you know what they mean. It's clear that they have loyal customers and I am one of them! Heads up, cash or check only but there's an atm down the street. read more

I am 5"0' and pretty much all woman's pants and jeans I buy have to be altered. I have taken a pair of jeans, 2 pairs of dress pants and a dress so far, she has done some amazing jobs! The business is so small, you would pass right by without even noticing it. So if you are going to the place, make sure to pay attention to the address otherwise you will drive in circles for 10min like I did! :) read more

I'm amazed that I was able to take 5 pairs of pants into Fits All and get them all hemmed in less than 5 days! The woman who runs it seems very busy, but she is amazingly fast, and very patient when letting you try things on for fitting, etc. The only downsides I would say are it's a tad hard to find, but once you do, you won't miss it again. It's very close to a crosswalk with its own light, if that helps. Also, she only takes cash or check, which was a bit tricky. But overall, I'm very pleased! read more

Shame on me for not writing a 5 star review years ago. I have been coming here since I moved here in 1996. I am devoted - because she is wonderful, accurrate, and flexible with turnaround. She has helped me through so many pinches - a dress for a wedding had a hole along the seam 7 years ago, and she repaired it that morning. She has done all of my alterations (I'm short). I have moved all over Seattle, and currently it's a pain to get over to her - but I do. I trust her. Her prices are very reasonable - to the extent that I tip b/c I would pay double at Nordstrom. my bridesmaid for a wedding tomorrow looks perfect thanks to her, along with the hook that she creat to detach the sash. Owner said she'd contact me within a week saying my dress was ready. She never did. A week after that, I went to pick it up myself. I was expecting to pay less. Also, the hem has a few imperfections. I maybe could have saved my money, bought my own sewing machine, and done this better myself. Also, I had brought a jacket with a broken button that she couldn't fix. Definitely won't go here again-it just didn't seem to suit my needs. read more

Since the other reviews deal with altering women's clothes, I'm going to offer a different bent: Bros, take your clothes here. The nice lady who runs the place is busy, but if you're patient she does great work. I brought a heavy cotton jacket here to have the waist brought in, and she did so perfectly even though it was a tough job. So unless you're some kinda corn-fed logger with a solid beer gut, bring those buffalo plaid button downs and flannel shirts in and have them sized to fit. She's affordable and matches the stitching perfectly. read more

You know how when you order a bridesmaids dress, they always order them way too big so it can be made a 'custom fit'? I hate that, but when I got my dress in, I was afraid no one would be able to take that much off and still look good. Well, she did! I parked right in front on a Saturday afternoon when no other customers were in the shop. I asked the older lady running the cash register to come out to my car and look at removable nylon load space protector in my SUV's trunk that needed a small air vent hole cut and stitched with a finished edge. It was a simple job that a tailor could do in 1-2 hours. The lady glanced at it disinterestedly and said "too busy," turned her back, and walked off in 25 seconds flat. Avoid this business--apparently they're too busy for common courtesy, too. read more

The place competently took in the waists of ten of my pants and patched three pairs with tears nearly invisibly. The price was reasonable. PAYMENT & HOURS: It now takes checks. It opens at 9:00, not 9:30 as listed at the moment. (Its business card says 9:00 & its owner told me that was the correct time.) GETTING THERE: If you're coming down California Ave. You can park by turning west onto Frontenac St., a street with an overhead traffic light that is about 75 feet south of the store (which is abutted by three other stores). It's easier to wiggle into a parking spot on Frontenac than on heavily traveled California. In addition, it's easier to turn around: if returning south, go into a driveway and back out; if returning north, continue down Frontenac to Ambaum Way (about 2 blocks), then turn right and follow Ambaum back to California. read more
