Overall, the food is good. Remember people this is DIET food and is portion controlled. The food is good. Better than Nutrisystem and better than Lean Cuisine. I have not tried Jenny Craig. No, it is not gourmet if you are comparing it to fatty, rich, full-calorie restaurant food. But for diet food, it is pretty gourmet and tasty!
I do wish they gave an option to opt out of the snack/dessert. I'd prefer either a side of fruit or extra veggies. But I think all diet programs include the sweet snack, which I dislike. Anyway....
I had a Groupon, which was a fantastic deal. So I bought a week of food. Food was delivered before 10am each day. My apartment is hard to get into so the first day I showed the driver, Daniel, how to get in and then every day after my food was hanging on my door. Great service! I think I will continue to order on individual days because the service is wonderful. Its really convenient, especially on my busy days, to just have my food there waiting for me without having to think about it..
Monday
Fish with Pesto Cream sauce, brown rice and sauteed mushrooms.
The mushrooms were absolutely fantastic! They had great flavor and they give you A LOT. Fish and rice were good, but I really think it was the mushrooms that made the meal. YUM!
Whipped strawberry jello for dessert was fine. Again, I'm not a dessert fan, but its included, so I eat it.
I had the steak portabello salad as my dinner. I added a tomato and shredded carrots. The salad was filling. The little container of dressing is enough for the entire salad, which I wasn't expecting. So that was good. But the salad was just okay. I think after being in the fridge all day, the meat and cheese start to clump together.
Tuesday
Pork a la moutarde with plantain puree. This was delicious... But it came with a "festive apple salad," which was absolutely disgusting! This needs to be taken off the menu. It did not look good nor taste good. It had a lot of green beans, but the green beans seem like they came from a can. Soggy, gross, ewe. The apples were also unrecognizable. I actually had to go back to read what I was supposed to be eating.
Again I chose the salad for dinner. It was the Southwest Chicken salad, to which I added carrots and more cheese. I also warmed up the chicken. This one needed a little more dressing, but I didn't add it. It was better than yesterdays steak salad, I think due the warming of the chicken. Soft Chocolate Chip Tart for dessert was eh.
Wednesday
This time I tried the salad for lunch, before it had to go in the fridge. Nice piece of fish in the Asian Tilapia Salad. I was nervous upon opening bc it smelled kinda fishy. I squeezed some lime on it. Happily, it tasted great! Dressing was delicious and plentiful. The Asian slaw also tasty with complimenting flavors.
Tomato Soup - not bad
Chicken Lasagna - super small, but yummy
Marinated Vegetables - Disgusting! You guys need to work on your veggies
2 Chocolate Truffles - 110 calories each! Good, but unnecessary.
Thursday
Fit2go House Salad - standard and good
Beef in Vinaigrette - good, but not great
Yucca with coriander - sauce was good
Peaches w/ ricotta - DELICIOUS! I need to learn to make this myself
Chicken Pasta Salad - good but way too plain and standard for me to order again. I can make this myself.
Friday
Turkey Spinach Salad - This was kinda weird. I liked everything in the salad, I just don't think the flavors went together well.
For dinner it was Grilled Vegetables, Thai chicken and Paprika potatoes. All were good, even the vegetables. I don't know what was Thai about the chicken, but it was good.
Cinnamon Cookie - I didn't eat this yet read more
