Initially, I had a problem with this company; however, after a few emails and phone calls, all the issues were resolved satisfactorily. The meals are delicious because they are not delivered frozen. The menu is very varied, and the portions are generous. The prices are excellent considering the quality of the food. The only thing to keep in mind is that they deliver the meals at midnight. If you need to be awake to open the door to your building or house, this could cause some problems. But if you can arrange for them to have access to your residence, the service is very convenient. The food tastes like it's freshly prepared because, even if you order a package of 35 meals for the whole week, they deliver them in batches of 10 every two days, which allows you to avoid freezing the food, thus guaranteeing the quality and excellent taste of the product. In my opinion, they can easily compete with any high-end restaurant thanks to the excellent value for money they offer. A similar dish, of the same quality, could cost you twice as much at any other restaurant. I first tried Jet Fuel about three years ago and cancelled my subscription just a few months later, feeling very disgruntled after a number of issues where many meals were over salted, my allergies/preferences were not taken into account, and the customer service was just not good. I could not be happier with the service and food options I'm currently getting from Jet Fuel! You can 100% tell they have revamped their recipes and have hired better chefs/cooks because the food is light years better and way more varied than it used to be three years ago. Although I was unsure if a meal plan would be adequate for me since I was diagnosed with celiac a few months ago, I was able to set gluten as an allergy and I have not had any issues with any of the meals I've received. Although they can't guarantee the meal to be gluten free since it's all made in a shared kitchen, they highlight the exclusions/substitutions when needed and the meal is just as balanced and enjoyable as the original portion. I'm very thankful to have this meal plan as an option as I don't enjoy cooking at all, and although I thought I'd be forced to do so after my celiac diagnosis, I found an alternative that has worked for me and is safe (literally just got bloodwork for my celiac antibodies and there's no trace of them! Well, we gave it a good try! Unfortunately, their plan is not working for us. The ambiance was not there. First of all, we can never pick our meals. They pick the choices for us! There is no menu to look at. We were each getting a meal a day for 4 days a week. That's 8 meals a week and those meals get expensive. We wind up eating just a small portion of it that we actually like, and the rest (including our money) goes in the garbage can. Even our darling doggies don't want to eat it. The second problem is that they add so much salt to every meal! Especially the meat! I take one bite, and I'm ready to throw up. The meat is hard to chew, especially the steaks. Had to leave a review...DO NOT use Jet fuel! The issue with this meal company is ingredient integrity, customer service, and lies. If you don't care about food allergy sensitivity, tracking your macros, or good communication, then proceed with them. Details below: When you first sign up, they ask you about the foods you can and can't eat, and I specifically listed dairy as something I cannot consume. Now, as an example, I received Mixed Nuts and Waffles. I have dairy allergies, and they told me the food would indicate that the dairy was removed and would clearly show the substitution. However, the label didn't indicate any substitution at all. On the first Monday I reached out and asked whether there was dairy in the meal or if it was removed, and either way, to justify the ingredients versus the macros. Do the math: about a quarter cup of nuts and three small waffle halves does not equal 47 grams of protein. How did we arrive there? To me, that amount of protein only makes sense if they add whey (dairy) protein or some other kind. The point is I did not assume -- I asked for the exact ingredients used. I was told the person who knew had been contacted and they would get back to me. They never did. The next shipment on Wednesday had a similar conflict with the almond flour pancakes. They indicated no dairy this time at least, but again, no substitution was listed as promised. I called again -- they said they still didn't know. By Thursday, I tried again, and they still wouldn't respond to ingredient questions and redirected me to call customer service. I tried calling, left my details, and was not called back the whole day. By end of day, I called back and found that they do not answer unless you select the option for sales. When they finally answered, they said, "We already told you no dairy." I reiterated that this was not my question. Note: I have been very clear and thorough on my request via phone and text, so both they and I have the full chat log. My question was about the ingredients and macros, and she again stated that the person who knew the ingredients was not available, adding that they wouldn't be available for a week because they were on vacation, and no one else knew. I was shocked. The obvious question was: how are you cooking food if the person with the ingredient list is not available? Are robots working at your facility? They were stumped by the question. They said they would call someone and call me back; however, they didn't. Therefore, by end of day I tried to reach out several times, but they didn't answer. So I texted back and told them not to bother answering and that I would cancel. After a full week of asking for ingredients and macros with no details provided, I did not want to continue, as I didn't feel comfortable with the integrity of the ingredients. They again tried to justify that they had given me what I asked for, but with no details. I reiterated the issue. They finally apologized and, without me asking, said to allow 5-10 business days for a full refund, which was the best thing I had heard from them. That was Friday, November 14th. I reached out about 15 business days later on Monday and Tuesday (December 1 and 2) because I still hadn't received the refund. No answer. As of today, December 4th, still no answer. So essentially, they lied about the refund and ghosted me. This company has no integrity. They don't stand by their ingredients, they don't stand by their promises, and their customer service is horrible. I want to lose some weight and eat fresh and healthy but I'm lazy and struggle with my busy schedule (even in the pandemic) to be creative with my meals! As noted, I chose the Keto meal plan but they have several others including plant based. You can also specify if you have food allergies or just can't eat a certain food. I excluded fish from my meals. No problem! I have had a great experience with delivery. I even gave special instructions to have the meals left in a certain place and it's been so smooth. I wake up and there's my meals for the next 2 days! I don't get meal delivery for the weekend, so this is my time to cook for myself or occasionally get take out. The Food: I was a bit worried when I ordered how this would taste. Well, I have been so surprised by how good these meals are! Some favorites have been Mongolian Beef, Lime Chicken, Mojo Pork Loin, and honestly the best Curry Chicken Salad I think I've ever had! I don't really like chicken salad but this was amazing!!! Oh, I had a pepperoni pizza chicken breast for dinner last night... yes, you read that right, chicken and pizza! If you needed proof there's a higher power, there you go! Yummy! The sides are so good too! It's hard to make some of the sides that are staples in a keto diet taste interesting but so far, so good! I was considering signing up, but needed to know the sodium content of the meals. The nutritional information online doesn't include sodium. I therefore called customer service and the rep said the meals have no more than 450mg of sodium. I then told her I needed to see this information on the packaging like the other information listed. She said they don't list the sodium, but that she could assure me that the best and healthiest ingredients are used. I told the rep, if I can't read the amount of sodium on the meals packaging then I'm not assured it's only 450mg of sodium. I would be consuming these meals daily without knowing how much sodium I would be consuming. This would not be the healthiest way to eat. Been on their meal plan for quite some time now. I only do it for weekday dinners. Price is very reasonable when compared to other similar services. What impresses me the most is the delivery. I've been on various meal plans throughout my life, and delivery of the meals always seemed to be an issue at one point or another. Crossing my fingers, but the delivery of the meals by Jet Fuel has been seamless. The meals themselves are well portioned. I never find them to be too skimpy or too much. They really have perfected the portion size, which is another thing that separates them from similar services. Lastly, and most importantly, the meals taste great. The seasonings have nice flavor. They have a nice variety of meals featuring various proteins, carbs, and veggies. My biggest issue with meal plans is that eventually the meals get old for me. I just end up getting tired of eating them. So variety is important. My only con is the smell. And I'm honestly not sure if they could even do anything differently. But the smell of the meals in the fridge is quite bad. I make sure the containers are properly closed and I even spray the packaging and my fridge with odor eliminators, but the smell still permeates. I am very much pleased with this service. The food is very good. Delivery is dependable. Pricing is reasonable. Convenience is stellar! My husband and I have adult children now, so most of the time it's just us unless our youngest is home from college, as he was this summer. I am very busy with work so we found ourselves going out a lot or me having to shop, prep, cook, and clean up. To hekk with that! This service popped up in my Facebook feed and thank goodness! I had a love hate relationship with this service. Unfortunately, it ended with hate. It is very difficult to get in touch with someone to manage subscription when there are issues. Leaving voicemails, texts and emails unanswered is beyond frustrating when you see your credit card being charged when it should not be. This happened on two separate occassions where the agent assured me it was paused appropriately, but when the day came, it was not. I gave the benefit of the doubt first time, second time is a no no and the constant waiting for callback is frustrating and unacceptable. I can't fault the food however, both physically matched me and blood tests confirmed healthy state of blood etc, even after the high calorie gainer plan. I appreciated the delivery multiple times per week as it left me believing the food was fresh but the inability to manage subscription and parts thereof effectively, the long wait for customer service and failed attempts at making it better became too much and I've cancelled subscription.
