If you need to work and want a safe and comfortable coffee shop, you need to come here. I hate coffee shops that blast club music which prevents deep focus work. The music is calming and relaxing. I absolutely love this coffee shop.

I've been coming to Bark Coffee in Uptown Whittier for a while and generally like supporting local…read morebusinesses. Recently I noticed a review mentioning that the younger employees sometimes struggle to keep up during busy periods and occasionally mess up orders. Unfortunately, I've had a similar experience more than once. To be fair, everyone makes mistakes, and working in customer service isn't easy. But after enough incorrect drinks, forgotten modifications, and inconsistent quality, I finally reached my breaking point. Ironically, I should probably thank Bark Coffee. The repeated order issues were the final push I needed to buy my own espresso machine. After spending some time dialing in my grinder settings, shot times, and technique, I'm now making coffee at home with a level of consistency and quality that honestly exceeds what I was getting during many of my visits. So thank you, Bark. You inadvertently inspired me to learn a new skill and save a little money in the process. Will I ever come back? Probably. If I run out of beans, need caffeine while already on the road, or don't feel like making coffee myself, I'll stop by. But for the foreseeable future, I'll be enjoying LARP Coffee from my own kitchen, where the barista never gets my order wrong. Wishing the team the best and hoping they can improve consistency moving forward.

LFTD recently made an announcement that they are being evicted by their landlord and will close…read moredown this brick-and-mortar location by the end of this year (December 29th, 2025). A week before the announcement was made, I came here to try their famous blue tortilla breakfast burrito. [Parking]: There's a free public parking structure located one block away from the coffee shop (6738 Comstock Ave, Whittier, CA 90601). [Atmosphere]: Super crowded on Sunday & I was not able to find a place to sit. I ultimately ordered my breakfast burrito to-go. They also have a section of cafe that sell vintage clothing. [Menu]: For the signature breakfast burrito, they actually have 6 options - classic breakfast burritos (bacon - $16.50), Prime Steak (grass-fed prime steak $20.50), the Ultimate Burrito (grass-fed prime steak + avocado + bacon), Chilaquiles ($15.50), Chorizo ($16.00), and Vegan ($16.00). They also sell their cold brew cafe de olla in giant plastic bags that look like IV drip bags at the refrigerated section. [Ordering]: Customers can order at the cashier counter or order via kiosk (they use Toast). I reviewed their breakfast burrito options at 12 PM and they ran out of classic breakfast burrito. I ended up with prime steak breakfast burrito instead. Unfortunately I waited 45 minutes before they had my order ready and I could tell other customers were not too patient with their orders as they kept walking up to the pick-up counter & checked the ordering status. *** Prime Steak Breakfast Burrito (grass fed prime steak, scrambled egg, Monterey Jack cheese, crema, pico de gallo, tri-colored peppers, hash browns - $20.50): Unlike other breakfast burrito I have had at other places, this breakfast burrito had blue tortilla. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but chewy steak + crispy hash browns + roasted peppers + red salsa = one delicious and s-tier tasting breakfast burrito. *** While LFTD serves one of the best 5-star worthy breakfast burritos I have ever had in LA + Orange County, I have to take off a star due to extremely long wait time on food order. Please do yourself a favor and place an online order at least 30 minutes ahead of time if you want to try their breakfast burritos ( https://www.toasttab.com/local/order/lift-6701-greenleaf-ave ).

The lady who helped me at the register was very nice as well and great at giving recommendations! I will say though, I got the ham and cheese breakfast croissant and I was not a fan. I ordered it hot, but the outside was only slightly warm when I got it and it was very cold on the inside. Portion wise it was pretty big so portions are worth it I guess, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I think there's some sort of sauce in it, I am not exactly sure, but I just didn't like the flavor! I think I'll just stick to the drinks for when I come!! The inside was really cute and very clean. While there were quite a few orders in front of me, the barista worked hard to make sure my drink was made. I did wait about 15 minutes for my coffee but I was worth the wait. I ordered an iced horchata latte. The latte itself had a good balance of flavor and is perfect for someone who does loves caffeine, but not the overbearing coffee flavor. Ethnos is located in the flower market, so it can get busy on weekday and weekend mornings. We did not have to wait in line, but did wait for our coffee. There was only 1 barista working, but he did a fabulous job. Ethnos is a MUST try place in the flower market. Enjoy a nice latte while buying beautiful flowers!

Maverick Coffee in Whittier gets 4 stars from me!…read more The place is super cute, it's actually a bike shop that also features a coffee stall inside. Their menu is definitely limited; they don't have a lot listed, but they do offer a Thai iced tea. The tea is home-brewed, which is a really nice touch! They also have a refrigerator stocked with a few different kinds of canned sodas. The only real downside is that there is no seating available. It's strictly a get-your-drink-and-go kind of place, not a cafe where you can sit down and hang out for a while. On the plus side, parking is very easy. Since it's right on a street corner, there's quite a large parking lot, which I'm assuming is built to accommodate all the cyclists who ride over. Overall, it was a nice experience and a cool spot to grab a quick drink!
