I've posted before - I'm a huge fan. I tried the miso cod earlier this month and ordered it the following week again because it was amazing - and so so easy to prepare (i sauteed it). read more

Fishmonger Don has been one of our treats to get us through the pandemic, we've had super nice meals every 2-3 months consisting mainly of delicious seafood delivered to our doorstep. Every single thing we've tried has been amazing. The seafood is really fresh, and if we end up cooking something we keep it super simple to let the fish and shellfish shine. It's been great especially for having a light preparation but elegant backyard meal with another family. Some highlights: whole live dungeness crab, miso-marinated black cod (my family's favorite: expensive but saves some prep time and marinating time), oysters (I have learned to shuck them though I am slow), cold-smoked salmon (so happy to find this after Creekside Smokehouse shut down), poke (both kinds are gluten-free and delicious), and salmon (yum!). Last weekend I was adventurous and got an entire salmon, filleting it myself and serving three meals worth of salmon to friends over two days (note to self: get a bigger knife). Our neighbors get the trout regularly and love it as well. The weekly email usually arrives late Friday morning. I drool over my keyboard as I put in the order, and a series of texts on Saturday let me know when the seafood is showing up. They've been switching over to biodegradable packaging where possible. Looking forward to our next meal from Fishmonger Don! read more

Don is the go-to for the freshest, highest quality and sustainable seafood straight to your door! I've been ordering from him for a few years and I have never been disappointed with the bounty. My favorites are the Ora Salmon, uni and oysters for at-home sashimi nights. I love the skin because I will fry that up for an extra crispy bonus. I usually buy extra of the Salmon for cooking the next day, or toss into the freezer for another night. Uni is my brother's favorite, and Don went out of his way to source it for me even though it wasn't on his order list. Last week, I ordered Santa Barbara uni. Don replaced it with Hokkaido instead since it wasn't up to his quality standards. I highly recommend Don for your seafood needs! read more

I've ordered from Don a few times (uni and tuna) and have been really happy with the quality and overall experience. The half pound tuna tray with various levels of fattiness was especially fresh. My parents spoke highly of the 100g tray of uni I bought for them so I ordered some for myself the next time. When the delivery driver came, I learned that the uni for that week was not good and rather than sell subpar uni, Don offered to refund me. I really appreciate that they stand behind their product and will be ordering again. Oh, and please tip your delivery driver! read more

Fishmonger Don has the most amazing, delicious, freshest seafood you will ever be able to purchase as a consumer. We started ordering from Don in 2020 during the pandemic, and continue to do so each and every week. Once you taste his seafood, you will never be able to eat store bought fish again. There is no comparison. My son-in-law, who is an avid weekend fisherman on the East Coast, marveled at the size, texture, and flavor of the miso marinated cod we served him last week while visiting. We have enjoyed, cod, salmon, gulf shrimp, ahi tuna, trout, uni, scallops, and cioppino from Don. It's all amazing. It's all so good. read more

If I could give Don 6 (or 10) stars, I would. I was on the hunt for fresh fish in San Francisco and randomly googled Fishmonger. Little did I know that my life would change that day as the search results introduced me to Fishmonger Don. His sustainability approach and overall philosophy drew me in. But when I tasted the fish...I was hooked (pun intended). Here's how it works: sign up for his newsletter, which is sent out on Friday morning. Order your fish by 11:59pm, and you'll get a delivery the next day, The selection is amazing - from some prepared items like Miso Black Cod (aka Sablefish) and Don's Santa Cruz poke, which are my favs. Honestly I've never had fresher, more delicious fish. It melts in your mouth. The flavors are amazing. Ive been telling g everyone and Shari g, and now others are getting in on this Fishmonger action. And The delivery is efficient. read more

Unbelievable. I've truly never had fish like this in my entire life. So fresh! So flavorful! And the texture...so buttery and tender it hardly stays on the fork. We were referred by a friend, who brought us a container of poke. My partner tried the first bite and when I saw her face light up and her eyes go skyward, I knew we were in uncharted territory. Since then, we've had both the Santa Cruz and the spicy poke, the miso cod, the hamachi, and the smoked cod, all of which far exceeded our expectations. Heavenly. read more
