Tried for a couple weeks and it's amazing!! Each meal has been so good i'm scraping the bottom of the box. I actually look forward to eating these as opposed to the somewhat bland other delivery services I've tried. I don't understand the bad reviews-- the app is much more user-friendly so try that. I have had no problems with availability, adding or changing items to my order, and the freshness. For people saying "unclear billing" they have a Charges tab that shows exactly what you're being billed for delineated by item... Other than the plastic waste (comes with the territory) I honestly have no qualms, I will be continuing with them for awhile! My new fav delivery service. read more

I signed up for Thistle accidentally while comparing meal plans. I loved Daily Harvest back when they offered more than smoothies and was hoping for something similar. The food was decent, but the packaging was a dealbreaker. Every single item comes in a non-reusable plastic container. Even setting aside environmental concerns, the sheer volume of waste was unmanageable: my garbage goes out every other week and was already full. The cost also didn't pencil out. Even with the discount, Thistle ran more than what I currently spend eating out for the same number of meals, and it didn't reduce my grocery bill either. read more

I was really looking forward to starting the service when I found out that they booked me for two deliveries when I only wanted to start with one and not only that they booked me for two deliveries. They were literally two days apart when I reached out to point the mistake they made they suggested that I donate the second delivery and took no responsibility. I feel scammed. read more

Very satisfied. Flawless, safe delivery! Quality food in great proportion. I highly recommend. read more

For my very first delivery, I left explicit instructions that my building's buzzer was broken & to please call when they arrived. The guy arrived but never called. They just left the food outside the building. Anyone could've taken it. Thank God my building maintenance guy happened to see them and brought the food to my door. I'm now finding a more reliable meal delivery service. read more

I have a mixed review on Thistle. I wanted to love it and continue my subscription but my partner and I have had ongoing issues with food poisoning from our meals. The food is delicious and helps both of us stay healthy. We felt there was good variety and enjoyed the meals. The delivery folks were always friendly and the food arrived in seemingly good condition. After the first round of upset, we gave them the benefit of the doubt because we liked their company. We had two more episodes though on different deliveries. I hope Thistle takes these complaints seriously because after reading other reviews I know I'm not the only person who has experienced issues. read more

It would help if they actually had items available basically half of the stuff that they supposedly have is not available at this time they've run out, etc.. I haven't even received my first order cause I had trouble finding anything to order, but I'd already paid for it so I will be canceling after this order or actually as soon as I can get through if I can find an actual working phone number. read more

My husband and I have been a Thistle member on and off for a few years. The food is always delicious and has nice variety of healthy options. But that is where the postive things ends. I have canceled my membership multiple times due to the terrible order fulfillment. There was a good stretch for a few months where all seemed to be going smooth but yet again a week has gone by where my order is not missing multiple items. Or if I have received my full order, ingredients are completely missing from the meal. Their order fulfillment is absolutely horrendous. And while they are always prompt at responding via customer service and offering refunds, I am left disappointed every week. I recently reinstated my subscription hoping it had improved in the past year, all my deliveries since I reinstated have been wrong or missing items. Leading us to once again look elsewhere to a healthy premade meal option. FIX YOUR FULFILLMENT ISSUES read more

Food quality. Found hair in my meals a few times. Also, delivery was not careful and completely lost a meal due to it being turned over. Received the wrong delivery once. Tried contacting business with issues and didn't receive reply or refund. Also, there is a time frame the customer requests and the deliveries always arrived far earlier than expected. read more

Love Thistle! It's been a mainstay for 2+ years. The food is HEALTHY, TASTY, FAST, EASY, and AFFORDABLE. I get the Vegan dinners for $14 (most expensive item) and use them for lunch. They have a huge variety of fresh stuff. But cooking it always the same: put it in a pan for 4 minutes. I have it to a science, I can cook it while getting other stuff ready... its done, wipe the pan and cleanup is done too. I have tried several other services, they are more expensive and not as convenient. Thistle delivers twice a week, so the meals are very fresh. You don't need alot of preservatives when the food if fresh. And their sauces give it flavor w/o a bunch of salt or fat. I don't write many reviews, but I want to tell the world about this little gem. Eat up! read more

Unfortunately my husband and I each got food poisoning from Thistle.. I gave my first food poisoning experience the benefit of the doubt, but when my husband got it, I immediately cancelled. Even though I liked the convenience and health focused recipes, food poisening is a full 100% stop. I'm considering contacting the health department because it seems like this is an issue for others as well (a few reddit threads on the issue). Might be that their supply chain exposes the food to the unsafe temperature zone for too long. It's too bad. read more

I initially appreciated the delivery service however I very quickly got tired of the the food as everything seemed to taste the same. The reason I'm giving it only 2 stars however is due to the fact that they make it DIFFICULT TO CANCEL. They also don't send you a message weekly reminding you to update your cart for your next delivery, which would also alert you if you needed to cancel for that week. This is clearly deliberate and feels slimy. I won't recommend thistle. read more

I had a subscription years ago. It's been over 5 years since my subscription was active. I recently thought about reactivating it. I have since moved and wasn't sure if they delivered to my area so I changed my address in my account settings with them. I did not take any other actions. I never selected a meal plan or affirmed a re-activation. All I did was change my address. I never received any confirmation email or any other indication that I had signed up again. To the contrary, I'm still receiving emails offering discounts if I re-activate my subscription. Despite that fact, I just found out that I actually got charged for a new subscription and have a delivery coming this week. I'm not prepared for a delivery so now I will have food waste, and I didn't budget for a renewed subscription yet. Apparently just changing my address in the settings reactivated my subscription. Worse, even though they say they canceled one future delivery, I haven't received a full refund and all future deliveries are still scheduled. There's no way to cancel online without going week by week and Thistle is refusing to help or take accountability. Be careful with this company! read more

very small portion sizes. the food is bkand and nasty af as well. not worth it for anyone

Thistle's website is confusing and misleading. I was billed for a week I never signed up for, the student discount wouldn't apply, and support gave me no real help. I canceled right away. Customers deserve clearer billing and better service. Be aware... if you sign up and didnt agree to a week. They will apparently automatically bill you, with no food modifications, and will not give you a refund. Dont even add your card information because they bill you right away. read more

The meals don't arrive in good condition and the pricing is not upfront, I've cancelled and continue to get charged.

Salads look great but I keep getting charged when I haven't even restarted yet. So frustrating.

Impossible to navigate website, and my allergies weren't listed, so of course on the first delivery I was going to get food I was allergic to. Customer service is a joke. read more

The salads were delicious and full of flavor. However, I cancelled due to repeated wrong items and missing items. The ability to choose your items is an illusion. they send whatever they want with no regard for your selection process. In one order I received so many incorrect items containing foods I do not eat and would not have selected. I ended up throwing out more than half of the delivery. read more

We have had a wonderful experience with Thistle. The food and selections are sooooo good. They are timely and when they make a mistake they immediately correct it. We have been using their service for almost 2 months and I couldn't be happier! read more

Amazingly fresh and delicious food. Was reluctant but now enthusiastic and sharing the good word. Lots of meal options and for the quality and portion sizes the meals are well priced. I highly recommend read more

While I appreciate that they accommodate allergies (which many other services do not) unfortunately the food quality was just too poor to eat for most dishes, and those which were edible were basically flavorless. The chicken in all of the dishes had an odd smell of wet dog and tasted like cardboard. The vegan meals weren't much better. Having done more research now, it appears this feedback about poor food quality is common for Thistle, so I hope they can improve upon this in the future! read more

Thistle had been my first experience with a delivery service and their food is bland and doesn't have a lot of variety; I get at least one marketing email a week from them but don't get any reminders about time left to edit my weekly meal choices or skip a delivery; their website does not clearly explain the process and what meals are scheduled for my delivery , how I can change and/or add meals (and that this changes your price). Lastly - and truly the biggest - I've had the service for 3 weeks and the amount of plastic is SO much. SO much. They need to have another option - the amount of plastic is just . . . I just can't. read more

The food delivery was good at first. You get tired of it quickly. They often use the same veggies over and over in dishes. I need a long break from Spinach! The customer service was terrible. I cancelled my account and when I did they do not provide any confirmation email or number with that. One month after cancelling the account I had food delivered. I cancelled again (still no confirmation email/number) and contact customer support. They refused to return my fee's I was charged, stating I had the food delivered. I explained I never ordered it and it should have already been cancelled. I was out of town during delivery and it was spoiled when I returned so couldn't even partake if I wanted to. They stated it was my fault as I had postponed deliveries prior to cancelling?! I believe if an account is cancelled so should all services, what a terrible loop hole they are trying to find. Horrible service!! Would not go back to this company. read more

Have been doing thistle for a little over a month now. For the most part I love the variety and delicious, nutritious meals, snacks and desserts. To be honest - we have had a fair share of missing items but the company has been good about crediting them back. Once they fix that mishap I would highly recommend them! The reusable bags are great and always look forward to our biweekly delivery! Super prompt! read more

I am new to Thistle, but have had nothing but great experiences so far. I've been using them for about 3 weeks. Positives: meals are healthy, fresh, and very easy to heat up and eat. Everything has a vegetarian option. Wonderful variety of cuisines. The website is easy to use and honestly fun. I look forward to the new meals being released every Monday and customizing them. I even look forward to rating each meal, for some reason. Negatives: they rely on chickpeas, tofu, and butternut squash too much. Could use a bit more flavor, but I tend to like things really umami and salty. read more

Amazing salads and delivery is fantastic with recycled black bags with reusable ice pack.

Upgraded to 3 stars. The salad was packed full this week and the brand refresh was beautiful! read more

I am obsessed! However I meant this review for the Los Angeles Thistle but anyway : Most items are delish , there were only a few I was not crazy about but still ate it or my husband liked it. I have been on it now for 2.5 weeks and every time i get the " green bag " i get so excited. I do not order too many of the breakfasts , some , like the puerto rican rice with beans - for breakfast - is a bit weird for me.... also a smoothie is not enough for me for breakfast - however i been ordering the smoothies as a dessert ( don't tell lol ) I do not eat beef , veal, pork, lamb etc but i do eat birds so I been ordering a lot of their items with the chicken or turkey . My husband is not a HUGE meat eater but he IS a meat eater ( when I say not huge I mean he would pick seafood over meat ) but he does eat meat on a reg basis and eats pork and beef, salamis and sausages - however I was able to get him to share most of the meals with me. On one occasion I thought we " share a salad " but 5 min later it was goooone and gobbled up by him ( he ate a rotisserie chicken with it we got from Costco) . I have Lupus and i shall be on a non inflammatory diet and I have never eaten this many salads before - i tried to buy them at Trader Joes and do a salad week etc but after a week I got tired of the same rotation - with Thistle - every bag is sort of a surprise ( I do esit the orders ) but the flavors are a surprise !! I am obsessed ! read more

I would love for this company to thrive and do well. The food is amazing and being on a plant-based diet I can actually eat a ton of food with lots of variety. Unfortunately, I have experienced similar delivery let-downs. Orders don't show up or arrive unexpectedly when I am not around to take the orders. No one wants their food sitting on their porch all day. I also have been trying to get my money refunded only to be given a credit to an account that was canceled and then adjusted to $25.00 without any of my money refunded. I spent over $150.00 on you guys. I really hope that they get their delivery system situated. read more

Overall the food was good, but there are major issues with their website that result in you receiving food you didn't order or deliveries you held. I've seen others online say the same thing and I'm concerned this is intentional and fraudulent. The first time I'd held deliveries and they re-appeared on my account, I chalked it up to a one-time error. However, this happened EVERY time I logged back into the website--all future deliveries I held were rescheduled. This feels very suspicious to me. While Thistle did cancel and refund such an upcoming order when I contacted them about it before cancelling my account, I think people should know this read more

Really like a lot of the meals but the repeat issues with Quality Control are close to ruining the experience. Cannot count the number of times a meal is missing. The inability to reach customer service real time is also frustrating; they have no ability to correct / re-deliver and the idea that they credit the bare minimum is also disappointing for repeat problems. They should offer drop shipping to a location for pickup -- although that would not help the inability of their staff to confirm order is correct before it leaves. Not sure if this is the driver who is meant to check or if they have dedicated staff on the QC job -- either way they need to get this in hand or no one will continue to use them. read more

I have had 5 deliveries. 3 of them have been well before my very early delivery time of 8am. Customer support apologizes and assures me it won't happen again only to have it happen again. I'm starting to think support is AI generated since all communication is via email. Also the food is just ok for the price. While convenient from a time standpoint the other issues make it not worth it. read more

Second time in a week that Thistle screwed up our delivery! We got a message that says delivery will come soon only to get another one minutes later that says it's cancelled for no reason. Earlier this week we only got half of our order. We like the food a lot but the operations are horrible, and we can't rely on it due to inconsistency with delivery. Customer service response also takes multiple days. We worry that the delivery issues are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to food processing, keeping allergens out etc. therefore we decided to cancel the service. Hope the biz ops team gets a revamp. read more

Thistle - Missed delivery - Food Delivery Services Near Me

I am new to Thistle and have had two deliveries so far but I am very happy with how healthy, fresh, and tasty everything has been so far. I feel good after I eat their food and it has been the best service for my specific dietary needs. I have tried several other food delivery services and this has gone beyond my expectations for a pre-made meal delivery service. I am also a student and just applied for the 10% discount, which is available to a wide variety of people. This is helping me eat well and not have to work so hard to manage my dietary needs. I am so relieved to have found it. read more

Ok so who has time to shop for all the goodness that thistle brings to your home every week - well not me! On top of managing all those fresh ingredients from turning into mold colonies in your fridge. So my doctor told me it was time for me to eat more plant based foods and I tried two or three delivery services and they were either way too much work than they were worth or portions were super small. Thistle is fresh food - so beware on that if you don't eat it right away you are throwing it out so only order what you know you will eat. And like the Seinfeld show they give you a BIG SALAD - I am talking big! So I get 3 lunches a week and sub them out for my normal bad habits and it has made a big difference. It's fresh food delivered on time that is tremendously healthy. Give it a try read more

Confirmed order and delivery window. Never turned up, no way to contact support other than via email which they do not reply to. Phone support goes direct to email. Given the service is meant to replace own cooking/groceries, if they don't deliver the food at all then you have nothing to eat. One of the worst companies for support I've ever come across - why have a phone number on your website if you don't pick up during your stated business hours? I've attached a picture of an empty table, which is exactly what I will be eating today. read more

I got very bad food poisoning twice in a row from their salads. I've been surprisingly happy with Thistle, as I never really thought I'd be a meal delivery person. But it's kind of everything I want--healthy and fresh food that's either ready to eat or only takes a couple minutes to heat up. I really appreciate the style of food--vegan with the option for animal protein--as it's not too heavy and makes you feel good after eating it. Basically exactly what I want for a quick and healthy meal at home without having to get takeout or otherwise assemble a whole bunch of ingredients at home. I'm pretty picky, but I manage to find enough meals most weeks that I'm extremely happy with. Some of their logistics need a bit of work--we've gotten wrong meals, missing meals, or missing main ingredients in meals, and they're not the most generous when compensating you for these issues. I also wish they sent receipts each week for the meals, as I've had to create my own tracking system by taking screenshots of the meals we ordered each week. Also wish they'd let you have multiple profiles online, as it's hard to keep track of who ordered what and our reviews of the meals afterward (since the meals do recycle after a few weeks). But otherwise I'm really quite happy with them, and plan to continue using them for the foreseeable future. read more
