My wife and I tried this place for the first time tonight…read more When we walked in, we thought we might have made a mistake by coming here. The dining room is very dated. However, it was clean. It has some old booths and the building is sagging, which it is old and I don't hold that against them. It took quite awhile for the server to greet us. He would disappear for long periods of time. Not sure if he was helping in the kitchen or what he was doing. He was very friendly and trying very hard to do the job. I just don't think he is cut out to be a server. My wife ordered the beef and noodles. It had mashed potatoes under the beef and noodles. Not sure who thought two starches in one dish was a good idea, but it didn't bother my wife. She said the dish was really good and she brought half of it home to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. I had the fish sandwich, which was really good. It was very fresh. I also ordered the ham and bean soup. It was fantastic. You could tell it was homemade and very flavorful. So we were very please with the food. Also, the food was very reasonably priced. We had a lot of food for only $33.00. So over all I'm giving it four stars. Not the perfect restaurant. They could improve in some areas, but we were very happy with the food.

Good food especially the wings and fried pickles and great prices. Good place to grab lunch or…read moredinner.

I think most burger joints taste the same, but I really enjoyed the burgers here. I got the…read moreSteakhouse burger and it was very well-seasoned. My friends also really enjoyed their burgers. I have to say, Odd Fellas is definitely one of the better burger joints I've been to. The "Little fella" size is a slider. Their "Regular fella" size is a regular burger size. The "Big fella" is larger than the regular size. I've been told that they switch out their menu every once in a while. Right now, they have a burger called "Hello, Newman". I know you just read it in *that* tone. Haha. Anyways, great burger spot to stop by.

The floor looks like it has not been swept since it opened and the man working the counter was on his phone from the time we walked in, till we left. Prices are a bit higher but I think they are fair given the amount of food you get and how good it is. The table was sticky and the floor was also sticky. Probably also why it looked so dirty. Overall I think the man at the counter should get off his phone for at least 5 minutes to sweep the floor. I'm all for acting your wage, but there is a line and if the floor is that gross at least pick up a broom and mop. There was also a hair in the food but lowkey it happens sometimes and that's not really the worst thing ever I guess. Just a note.

The Texas is exactly the kind of place you want to see after driving all night. Open for breakfast,…read morebreakfast all day, breakfast counter. I veered off the interstate a few miles into the town of Lock Haven, thinking it was the town in that Daniel Clowes book, driving around in my delirium trying to find that huge rock. But no, that's Ice Haven, and this is Pennsylvania. Why is this place called Texas? Is there a sister restaurant in Texas called Pennsylvania Lunch? They have something here called "The Growler"-- or is that just my stomach? Prices and service right out of a 1950s Amish Archies comic book. If there is/was such a thing. I need to get some sleep. Since 1918, they say. Was this the only thing in Lock Haven in 1918, and they built the town around it? Maybe the early settlers thought that THIS was Texas, the way they thought the USA was India, without GPS's and all. There's got to be a story here, but Ohio is on the horizon.

My family has roots in the area going back decades (even centuries) and this restaurant is part of that history. I understand it's been around for ~100 years, and many of my older family members, mostly relatives who have since passed away, have enjoyed meals here over the years (think 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s...) My parents remembered eating here more than 20 years ago for the famous hot dogs and burger dogs, so we knew we had to make a pit stop. We ordered three hot dogs, a burger dog, onion rings, and a soda. Everything was good, filling, and ~ perhaps most impressively ~ incredibly affordable. There was something really special about sitting there and knowing my family had done the same thing generations before me. :) It brought back a lot of good memories and gave the meal a feeling that you just can't recreate at a newer restaurant or even in a hustling and bustling city. The location right in the middle of downtown Lock Haven is great, and we had no trouble finding parking even during a busy 12:00 Friday lunch hour. Our service wasn't necessarily the friendliest (not rude or anything - just straight and to the point), but honestly, there was something about that that almost made the experience better. It felt like a true old-school diner experience. Hah! I can only imagine the stories these walls could tell. A great little piece of local Lock Haven history, and I'm so glad we stopped in. PS - They prefer cash, and the restrooms are very small/probably hard to navigate for someone with serious motor issues and maybe not feasible if in a wheelchair
