Fish thyme is a great place. An outstanding selection of fish and it's all fresh. Great service also. It's a unique place tucked away in the suburbs. We love eating here. There are a couple of down sides. They have limited hours and if you want a reservation same day you need to call before they open and leave a message requesting a time. Wow! My husband and I went to Fish Thyme for a a rare date night and it did not disappoint. First off, we got out a bit later than we wanted, due to a babysitter being late, so we had to wing it without a reservation. Somehow, we walked in around 6:30 and got seated immediately. Very cool! Our server, Dorothy, was lovely. She walked us through the specials and we settled on the alligator appetizer to split. My husband had a rye Manhattan, which he says was excellent. For entrees, he chose the blackened orange roughie with truffle fries and curry slaw, while I had the Georgia trout with kale salad and hash browns. Everything arrived warm (or in the case of the salads, cold) and perfectly arranged. The fish and their accompanying sauces were perfectly executed. Both of our potato sides were delightfully crispy. I ended up stealing more than a few fries from my husband and am so excited to come back and try a lobster roll with fries sometime. The kale salad was an unexpected favorite... who is going to go to a seafood restaurant and rave about the kale salad? Well, I guess I am. The kale was just the right texture, dressing was not too much or too little, and the almonds on top were a nice tasty addition. As with everything else at the table, the flavors were well-balanced. Desserts looked delicious, but we decided we were a little too full to take one on. We will plan better for next time. The price tag wasn't bad either. You can get by with a lesser experience elsewhere in Acworth and spend WAY more. Definitely wasn't a deciding factor, but it's nice to know we can have a nice date night for under $100. read more

Fish Thyme is a nice treat. I think it's an casual/upscale feel with a menu that is very well priced. The cuisine is mostly seafood which is such a treat. They always have a daily special or two that you are made aware of easily and have access to on a special menu. Good wine here and the bar isn't huge but the service is friendly and fast. I'd recommend making a reservation on the weekends and when the weathers nice it's great to sit outside on the patio. Our evening was filled with the best calamari east of Monterey CA, great service (the ENTIRE staff was super friendly) and fantastic chocolate mousse (Chocolate Charlotte). Out door seating was really nice with cool weather. This is our special occasion place and so happy to have a reliable consistent establishment in north Cobb. A few suggestions to keep Fish Thyme environment the bestest. A passive mosquito control for patio would be helpful. The plants on patio are in plastic pots from store but would look so nice in custom planting pots. Lastly the herb garden could be brought back or kept? Letting it go seems a waste. I have been to this restaurant 6 times in two years. The food is generally excellent and, until recently (the last 12 months) the service was also good. But...the last two times the wait staff have been rude and disrespectful to the point of being downright ugly. And the last time we visited - the food terrible and the service was substandard. I sat through an entire meal with no refills on water or tea. The most recent two times my wife and I visited has completely turned us off to this restaurant. I visited Fish Thyme last night for the first time, and OMG, I've been missing out on this N. Cobb gem! There was a long wait because we were late on reservations, but no issue because there is a wine bar a few doors down with a full bar, appetizers, and this night, a DJ. Thus, we were able to pass the time with good conversation, drinks, and jams. Once in the restaurant, our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food options were plentiful but not overwhelming. Our entrees came out at a good pace, the presentation was great, and the food itself was delicious! Being the first time, I ordered dessert, and it, too, was yummy. This restaurant is incredible! We had a group of six and the ladies have not been to a restaurant since the shutdown so they were very apprehensive prior to our arrival. Though it had been raining all weekend the staff were more than glad to set up the outdoor seating for us, dry the chairs, and when it started sprinkling again setting up a massive lighted umbrella for us. All staff wore masks and would nearly run to hold the doors when we went inside to go to the restrooms (which were extremely clean and full of soap and hand sanitizer). The menu and specials were second to none. I went out on a limb and had our phenomenal host, Brady (huge tip: ask for him) pick my meal and dessert and he was spot on. The redfish with hash browns and cream spinach were out of this world. Homemade sangria and Mai Tai (that was very liberal on the rum) were hits at our table. You cannot go wrong with the crab dip and the crab cakes. The dessert portions were huge but you must get dessert. The rum cake will change your life but others at our table said the Strawberry shortcake and the pineapple cake were to die for. Our friend scraped the bottom of the cup of his Deconstructed red velvet cake. You could tell everything was made 100% fresh. We cannot wait to go back. The background music was perfect and the fire burning at the nearby table pit was a great touch. We spoke to the manager prior to leaving and she was a charm. If you want to support your local restaurants and see your money working in the community for people who care for your safety, your experience, and your taste buds look no further. I visited Fish Tyme this past weekend with a few friends and we were all very happy with our selections. I ordered my usual - Stuffed Salmon, garlic mashed potatoes and a corn and tomato medley. The ordered the grouper, corn risotto and several other sides that I can't recall at the moment. For appetizers we had jumbo coconut shrimp and the most delicious bruschetta. They have an outstanding wine bar adjacent to the restaurant and although we didn't partake, the patrons looked like they are having a wonderful time. Outstanding seafood in the outer reaches of the Atlanta metro area. Located in a quiet area away from other restaurants, in a large, beautifully decorated space. Very friendly and capable wait staff. Since I'm rarely in the South, I went with the Mississippi catfish, which came with garlic mashed potatoes and a distinctive & delicious side of "snow pea spaghetti"--basically snow peas julienned and basted with a little (but not too much) butter. It was so nice to have a deep-green vegetable that wasn't cookie-cutter. The entree portions were huge (I could have easily shared the entree) and the catfish was perfectly breaded and seasoned. Gator and fried tomato appetizers were great. Our fish entrees were awesome! AND the desserts were the BOMB! Creme brûlée = YUM! Toasted strawberry shortcake = very good and HUGE... However, that Chocolate Charlotte was out of this world (I only got one bite) - next time I'm getting that! We got there before doors opened. Once reservations got seated we were told 1.5-2hr wait. No problemo. It was early and we had time. Within an hour an opportunity presented itself where we could eat at a big round table with two other couples we were waiting with. We took the offer. We had a fantastic time! Met some wonderful people and now on to the food. I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye med-well which was cooked to perfection. The vegetable medley was a hot mess though. It was the bag of super greens you get from Costco that they cooked and added some corn and bacon to it. No bueno. The mashed sweet potatoes were ok. My husband had some turf grill with salmon and lobster and corn and mashed potatoes and everything on his plate was delicious!!! Every single thing. I had some very expensive jerk crab stuffed mushrooms which were ok. I wished the mushrooms were either seasoned or cooked a bit longer. The lobster bisque was weak. I'm used to eating at the other restaurant they own which has some of the same sides and appetizers. I should have gotten the bruschetta which is always a winner! Fish Thyme is my current date night special hot spot. The wife loves the fresh fish there and I always get a seal of approval when date night includes this trendy spot. The fresh fish selection is excellent and changes frequently. The stuffed salmon is one of my favorites. This is also one of those places where the entrees almost get beaten out by the incredible sides. The creamy spinach and the fresh corn medley are two of my favorites. Make sure you check out the specials before ordering they have some awesome ones. They also take reservations and I highly recommend making them. I have been dying to get in this place and was so pleased when my Mom said she was game to try it too. We were greeted by the hostess and told the wait was 5 minutes, no big deal for a busy Saturday night, but there were 7 vacant tables. After we were seated, it took 10 minutes for anyone to approach us. I swore if we sat for even another minute we were crossing the street to the other new restaurant. A waitress walked by, asked if anyone was helping us and when I responded "no" she rolled her eyes and said she would be right back. 2 waters, no straw, she offered my Mom an adult beverage but didn't ask me (I don't look below the legal age) and we were not told about the specials although EVERY table around us was told of an amazing salmon dish. My Mom got the fish and chips and I got the trout with cos cos and green beans. Thank God the fries had an amazing parmesan mix on them, it was the only thing that saved her dish. The fish pieces were small squares, something you'd see in frozen kids meal. I got the trout and although it was cooked to perfection, there was an odd, almost curry taste to the fish. The cos cos on the side also made with curry and nuts and was pushed to the corner of my plate. The green beans were hard and came with oddly large fingerling potatoes and some lemon milk sauce. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, low lit, candles, a fire in the corner, great modern decor and toile chairs. I was only hoping the ambiance was as good as the food. We were left alone to start, rushed through the meal and left disappointed. We ended up driving through Steak n Shake. read more

I feel like I won the Dinner Lottery. Fish Thyme is one of the best that Acworth has to offer. A really fun and contemporary location with a great outdoor area (with a fire pit seating area). Here is what I had and how great it was: To start, the Oyster Shooters. Spicy and hot with a kick from the Absolut Peppar. I shared them and everyone loved them. Next I had the Trout for my dinner. I wasn't that excited with my choice until I had the 1st bite. It was incredible. I haven't had a fish that good in, well, I can't remember ever eating a better one. The snow pea spaghetti that I had as a side was great too. What a main dish!!!!! Everyone else loved the Truffle Fries that they got with their meals. As a glutton for Dessert punishment I ordered the Toasted Pound Cake Strawberry Short Cake and came just short of licking the plate clean. I would recommend these gastric delights any day. read more
