Bottom line: Favorite company meeting lunch delivery spot. Every time I visit this office, I'm happy to have the opportunity to have a meal delivered to our address. Today, we had a small meeting and order about 12 meals. Each did not disappoint! My meal was the Rock fish tacos. The grilled fish was perfectly cooked with the most lovely toppings, and utterly enjoyable taco tortilla! I wasn't looking forward to the side of cheese sauce, but it was instantly addictive with the corn chips....yum! Each person echoed their pleasure at the meal. This is the saddest review I have to leave on Yelp. I absolutely love Fish Head Cantina. I have vouched for friends, brought happy hour groups from work, my boyfriend who then brought his family. I love their weekly specials and the homey-ness of this place. This has been a horrible restaurant experience in general, not just for this place. Bf and I chose Fish Head tonight because of the sushi and great pub food. There is 25% off wings, apps, and sushi. I chose wings. I inquired about substituting all flats, so I offered to pay an up charge or even full price (considering they were on special). The blonde bartender with the "east coast" hamstring tats said this could not be done, no matter what, and the wings would come as a mix. I was under the impression I would get half and half. My 10 wings come out, and there are 2 flats and 8 drums. When the girl came back to ask how my wings were, I told her I was disappointed because 8 of the 10 wings were drums, especially when I was hoping for flats, and she assured there would be a mix. She gave me no solution, and instead of offering her apologies or the option to speak with a manager, she told me to write my complaint on Yelp. Usually, I'd forget it and just not return. I've been hard on Fish Head in the past but it's starting to grow on me. It's a very convenient bar in Arbutus, parking can be hard but the lot across the street has plenty of parking. The inside is clean and tropical feeling. The bar is huge and offers a wide selection of beer and liquor. The food is decent only have had a few appetizers, the tots rock! They also offer pool tables, darts, and other bar games. This place is huge and has an venue on the back end. The venue is actually pretty great and the live music acts they get is impressive. Overall I like all the space in and out doors you can really move around and experience different environments. I will say security can be very rude and almost bull doggish, although I understand they need to be tough. At one point the people in my party got excited to go eat after the show at like 1am and a guard got in our face. I told him, sorry they are exited to eat. We visited here to see a band. The space is substantial and well-laid out with multiple areas, multi-sided bars. But the vibe is distinctly redneck. The crowd is low-brow, and while I hate to sound shallow, nightlife is at least partially about being out / being seen / looking good... Nothing good looking here unless you want "large + white", in which case this might be the place for you. The parking lot attendant briefly told us "we're full up here". Only on inquiring did he vaguely suggest going to look for the bar's shuttle somewhere back in the direction of the main road? Never mind there was a spot on the street immediately adjacent that he could have pointed us to... The event door staff were brusque and too busy or distracted to answer my questions. Music-venue bar staff were friendly, but the unbalanced GreyGoose+Tonics in plastic cups were both small servings and more expensive than more upscale local venues (~$9 each vs $6-8 for more generous servings in old Ellicott City). Noticed that all of the flavored vodkas were sitting open/uncapped (no pouring tips). Nothing about this place calls to me as a destination. It might be worthwhile if it's local to you, but not worth seeking out. read more

I forgot to take a picture of the menu but my friends and I go once a month as part of our old high school reunion. The waitresses are always friendly and the food is good. This place has it all!! They have bands on the weekend and horse shoe pits outside. It is close to the beltway and not expensive. Not a sushi lover but two of my friends love it and both said it was excellent. Local spot not far from the house. I've been here more times than I can count and they never disappoint. The special weekly menu should be taken seriously as the new additions are fantastic. They usually consist of 4-5 entrees some, sushi specials, and a few drink additions. The standard menu is great as well with my go to being the Greek Quesadilla, man it's a treat. The standout here for a bar is the sushi, sound strange well it is until you give it a try which I highly recommend. The draft beer selection is small but they do have something for everyone, they also have a full bar with some decent whiskey selections. The staff are attentive and friendly and it only takes a few visits to be recognized, so you can have your own "cheers" spot. They have bands almost everyday of the week and a good patio area. I'm still relatively new to the area, so I'm still checking out the local joints. Read the reviews online and decided to stop in. Originally felt a bit silly about walking into a bar that had rave sushi reviews. However, I'm really glad I did. Service was great, we were seated quickly after arrival and our servers were very attentive and friendly. The menu selection is broad, it looks like they have a little bit of everything. I ordered the Fish Head Sushi Burrito and a cup of the Cream of Crab Soup as an appetizer. The soup was thick, creamy, and smooth. The Sushi Burrito was both unique and tasty - it had a well balance of flavors and a hint of heat. My SO ordered a Salmon Teriyaki Roll and a Steak Wrap. The Teriyaki roll was very tasty. The Steak wrap was perfectly cooked to the requested medium temp, and he ordered with waffle fries, which were crispy and well seasoned. It looks like they have activities throughout the week as well as an outdoor patio area, so I'll definitely have to return and bring a few friends for trivia or a band when the weather gets nicer. read more

Came here once for dinner in the dining room with Mr. X, and the food was great. We had an awesome time. The sushi is a great added touch and we enjoyed the entire evening very much. Interestingly, we have been trying to come back a few times and each time there is a DJ set up with speakers the size of dorm refrigerators in the middle of the dining room, blaring the most horrible hip hop shit you ever heard out into the whole facility. Thanks, but uh, NO thanks. This is not a weekend night, either. These are weekday evenings, around 7-8 PM. We come to eat a nice dinner and talk, not have out senses altered by noise that would make dogs jump in front of cars on purpose just to kill themselves. We tried coming back three more times on similar week nights. We won't any more, unless we find out that all that DJ garbage is GONE during dinner hours. The bar has a jukebox, why not fucking use it? No one gives two shits about your DJ, trust me. It's really disappointing because we live so close, and Arbutus is a restaurant wasteland (the absolute vileness that is Sorrento, anyone?). We would go there a lot. This would have easily been a 4 star review based on our one and only experience here, but it was not to be. I'll gladly update it if and when the situation changes. SPOOOOKY FUN FACT TO KNOW N' TELL: Directly behind this restaurant's property is the long-forgotten and derelict T. H. RANDLE cemetery, dating from the 1800s. It's obviously been forgotten, and doesn't get maintained. It's totally abandoned, which is sad to see. Many of the original Arbutus founding family members are buried there. In winter when there are no leaves on the trees, if you continue up the road next to the building and look deep into the trees, you'll see the tombstones and the railings around it all. T. H. Fish Head Cantina is not my typical venue, seeing as it's TWO long hours away from home, but they were hosting a "battle of the bands" that a friend of mine was playing in, so i of course was in attendance. We went through a number of different neighborhoods to get to it, so im not sure if it's technically Baltimore as stated. Most everything on the way to it said Arbutus,but when leaving it was all violetville. Perhaps that makes it convenient for all surrounding suburbs? The parking did not seem to be great, when i got there, their parking lot was full, but there was a sign pointing behind the next building for extra parking. I repeat, across the street there is another building in which you may park it it's back alleyway...in Baltimore. Please bring an escort. The place was pretty cool once you get inside! There are like two or three entrances with security,which i like, because i never feel safe in the city no matter what. Once inside there's a bar area--which literally played only the Ravens game on every single television--then there was the dining area, the sushi bar, a kinda long hallway that lead out to the "cantina". I was unaware the event would be outdoors, so i was ill prepared and did not take a zyrtec,which i know I'll regret tomorrow smh. There is a pavilion area complete with stage for bands to perform, in this case, up a couple steps there's patio seating,off to the side there's a little pond area and just opposite, an outside bar. The entire staff seemed to be very nice, from the security guys, to the guy who took the tickets and stamped our hands, to the servers and bartenders. I don't drink, but my friend ordered herself a flying dog, which was $4.75 per can, i thought that was a bit steep, but it was an IPA and we were in MD, not VA so it's probably normal pricing. We ordered a steak and cheese to split and asked if we could get the peppers and onions on only half, but the fellow said no, but he could put them on the side. So we did. Then added lettuce and tomato and asked for some mayo on the side. He asked if we wanted Cole slaw or chips and i asked if we could do a steak fry with no salt instead. By the time we finished ordering we could tell he didn't have time for our shit by the look on his face. He remained completely professional and gave us everything we wanted, but walked away quickly, probably so he could remain professional. Worried, i asked the other bartender how they'd know where to find us to bring us our food and she just smiled and said not to worry, they have been able to find everyone else so far today. Then my friend reminded me i was the only black girl outside and probably the only one with blonde hair on the premises. Duh. No wonder the guy at the door told me not to worry if i washed off my hand stamp because he wouldn't forget me! Hahaha Our steak and cheese came out exactly the way we wanted it, directly to us, with extra napkins, two sets of silverware and it only took about ten to twelve minutes! It was delicious! But the wind was strong so it kinda made it cold more quickly than I'd have liked. Mother nature can be a jerk. All in all i had a wonderful time for the battle of the bands, and if i lived closer, i would come back! Also if i would have realized they have free wifi in the tiki bar i would have read reviews and probably tried some sushi. Normally i only get it at Japanese restaurants, so my first thought walking in was "not getting sushi here". I dined out at Fish Head Cantina and I was totally impressed with all the safety precautions they'd put in place for staff and guests. I got there early so as to encounter as few people as possible. There's a notice outside the entrance telling people to not enter if they don't feel well, wear a mask, use the hand sanitizer that is readily accessible, etc. There were several large fans in the pavilion area, the staff wore masks and gloves, and the tables were safely distanced. Guests were not expected to wear a mask while dining outside. I already knew the food here was good. I've never been disappointed by anything on the menu, from the wings, to the salads, the tacos and the sushi - ESPECIALLY the Sushi! - the food is always delicious, and the safety precautions, now institute, in now way diminish the Fish Head Experience. We came here as an escape from the bad service at DePaula's down the road. We got excellent service, with several waitresses checking in on us throughout the night, and the food was also pretty good! We had crabby tots, a spicy tuna roll, and a burger with homemade chips between us and everything was delicious. The drinks were cheap, and the burger was 25% off that night, so dinner was definitely a steal. The sushi roll was surprisngly DELICIOUS and very, very fresh. The only thing I didn't enjoy was some of the clientele. We were there at 9pm and there was a family with very small children running around and crawling under our table. It was distracting to say the least, and those kids were too young to be in a bar that late. Some of the bar clientele is also a bit sketchy, and kept wandering through the dining room at random. Stopped in with my husband on our way home from preakness and were ravenous! It was a Saturday mid-day and the place was empty. I'm sure this place gets packed in the evenings!
