I ordered a custom aquarium here for $2,162 in June 2017. It was communicated to me that the delivery lead time was six weeks. When it had neared six weeks since I made the purchase I called Fish Gallery to ask when delivery would be scheduled. I was told a manager would call me back. Two days later, after never receiving a call back, I called Fish Gallery. I was again told a manager would call me back. To no surprise, I was not contacted back. I again called Fish Gallery, however, this time the person that picked up the phone was aggressive with me, stating that, "it was not her problem". After this I drove to the store and confronted the manager there. As it turns out the aquarium was never ordered. Although extreme frustrated, after waiting six weeks already, I worked with the manager to make sure a new order was put in - it is now nearing September. Six weeks pass and I call to see when delivery will be scheduled. I am again told a manager will call me back. I call Fish Gallery nearly a dozen times over the next two weeks to get someone to call me back and tell me what the status of my $2,162 order is. I even called other Fish Gallery locations to figure out what is going on. Miraculously, I get a call from a store manager telling me the person in charge of deliveries will call me back. To no surprise this process takes over a week. Finally, I'm called and told delivery of the aquarium will occur mid-November. The delivery date comes and I take off work to meet the delivery folks. Upon inspection I see that the aquarium was not constructed as ordered. I call Fish Gallery and speak with the delivery manager who told me, "it is not my problem". I instructed the delivery folks to take the aquarium back. Eventually, after devoting endless hours to getting someone at Fish Gallery with authority on the phone, they agree to reorder the tank. I again went through the same riffraff to get a delivery scheduled for the replacement aquarium. I am finally delivered the reordered tank in late December, six months since my initial order! A six week order took six months to deliver. But it does not end there. Now my phone is ringing off the hook from Fish Gallery about payment for the aquarium. Of course, because no one at Fish Gallery cared to communicate with me what was going on with my order I was forced to dispute the credit card charge with my bank. Fish Gallery absolutely refused to wait for the credit to be returned to them by the bank. Instead, they threatened to sue me. These pieces of trash called my work, blew up my phone with text messages, etc. Quite ironic actually - now they want to call me... Ultimately, I had to pay for the aquarium twice. If there is any business on the planet that deserves a negative star Google review, this is it. There are countless alternatives to Fish Gallery in Houston. These include OceanLife Aquariums, Aquarium World, to name a couple. If in Dallas, a great alternative is Dallas North Aquarium or Apex Aquarium. There is absolutely no reason you should walk into a Fish Gallery store. read more
