Honestly not sure what the employees get paid for, because helping customers clearly isn't it. We came here to learn about the fish and maybe actually get some information, but everyone acted like we were a huge inconvenience. We were rushed, ignored, and given basically zero explanation about anything. If you don't want to deal with customers, don't work somewhere that's literally about educating people. Waste of time and energy. I would not recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about getting real information. read more

This is an extremely good store to purchase coral of all kinds, tropical fish(fresh and salt water), invertebrates, and supplies. Super friendly staff, prices that are half that of their competition, and everything is healthy as can be. I've purchased a 40 gallon, used, all in one reef tank from them for under $300 and it even came with a stand. The wife and I go there every week or two just to ogle the beautiful selection of coral they have. After setting up and cycling the used reef tank, we just went back to buy some coral and fish for it. We spent $1,080 and got enough coral that it's difficult to fit it all, several large live rocks, several medium sized fish, an anemone, dozens of frags, a beautiful medium size red starfish, six months worth of chemicals, and various other supplies. All for under $1,100!!! Large coral formations that would go for $750 at other DFW reef stores go for $200-$300 here. I'm not affiliated with them in any way and I was not asked to post this review. This is my honest opinion. By far the best aquarium store in the entire DFW area! 100% recommend them. read more

I started coming to this store for my saltwater refills. I love come to this store looking at the saltwater animals and the store is always well kept. They have tons of tanks in all shapes and sizes which keeps me browsing. The layout of the store is very eye pleasing to browse and possibly buy. They have an extensive selection of corals and fishes with equipment, so you are bond to find something that you may want to buy. Corals and fishes are their speciality, I saw a few green anemones but not very many. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeful on the saltwater hobby. The pricing of fishes, corals, equipment is very fair and reasonable. I believe they have a freshwater selection but I was not paying attention. I would say you have to come by and check this place out if you are into the fish keeping hobby especially saltwater. read more

This store has it all! It has a very good in-store selection of livestock and corals, and a friendly and knowledgable staff. Occasionally it gets a little busy, but generally when I go there for water I get immediate service. But if they are busy, no problem; there are plenty of things to browse and take my attention, and occasionally money! :-) I can say that to date (about 3+ years of visiting this business regularly), I haven't had any real complaints. There have been a couple of times that they closed early or opened late, but when you realize that this is a family owned and operated business and all the challenges that came with and even followed the pandemic, you can't really complain. It's been very consistent for over a year now. I highly recommend this place! read more

We were looking for some colorful coral to add to our salt water aquarium and decided to visit Saltwater Paradise where we had purchased from before and had a good experience. The owners daughter was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and happy to help. We purchased a trachy, red Goni opera and a Midas Blenny. The owner was so humble and even gave us a discount for a large purchase. We will definitely return. Service was excellent and selection extensive. read more

I have such mixed reviews about this place. We bought a set up from them and our experience with delivery and set up was great. Have bought a few fish from here and I have mostly success in that area. A few have died but most are healthy and happy. They seem to take good care of their livestock. Tanks are clean. Every time I ask about buying equipment I get"we don't have it but we can get it". I would really like to get things while I'm there, as it's quite a drive over from where we live. I don't want to come back over and over. We moved and had them move and set up the tank again but our experience was less than satisfactory. We had people not show up on time that day, calling and chasing and babysitting people al day long (while dealing with movers). They also didn't do as nice of a job setting everything up as they had previously. They put filters on my tank that were not mine (beat up and had holes in them. Not at all like my brand new filters that I had). They also didn't do as nice of a job on the aquascaping as before. Last time it was arranged nicely. This time it was basically dropped there. They also scuffed up the tank and hood in a few places and said they would fix it but they didn't. I still have big white marks all over the tank. They didn't even wipe down the area they were working in, leaving sand and saltwater all over the stand and also on my wood floors. It was really not a great experience and certainly didn't feel professional. When we originally called to get a move quote we were told about 600.00 which wasn't bad but when we paid, it was 700-800. After the job they did, I wasn't happy paying that but I reluctantly paid it. Still, I came here today to try and spend some money on equipment and fish. It's well into the afternoon and it says 10am-7pm on the door for hours. No one it here and the place is shut tight. And no one is answering the phone. Their hours on Facebook differ and say 1pm. It's after 1 and there is no one around. Not sure I'm going to bother to make the drive here anymore. I want to like this store because the gentleman who usually mans the store is nice and helpful but there are so many issues... not feeling like an appreciated customer or like I'm being treated professionally. read more

This place is now our favorite fish store around the DFW area! We went here over the weekend, and I'm so thankful we did. It has a large selection of fish, corals, supplies, etc. Plus, they were having a great sale happening as well! We drove all the way from McKinney and bought a purple tang, a chocolate tang and a sailfin tang. All their fish appeared very healthy, and they are thriving in our tank as of now! Every time I visit this place in Irving i get treated like they have known me for ages. The staff is very helpful and i have not lost any fish that i have bought there. The main thing that keeps me coming here is the prices. They dont overprice the fish as many other stores around the area. I can say that i am very happy to have found this place. They could use bigger signs outside of the store because i didnt know this place existed before or I would have bought from them from day one. this is the worst store i have ever been to......just bought 450.00 worth of corals and one fish.....a fish that Don, the owner, said was reef safe....and he knew i have a reef tank cause not only did he sell me coral but he also saw a pic of my tank......so i get home with my "reef safe fish" and put it in my tank after acclamation and what is the first thing this fish does.....start popping my lps and not one but all of them.....i call the store immediately and tell them about it.....what do they say...."we can t and dont guarantee any fish to be reef safe and then hung up on us..........I guess the idea of customer service is dead and gone read more
