The staff only came once to clear our plates and never refilled our drinks (we all wanted 2nd beers but didn't get anyone back to ask). The absolute worst part about the crab legs was the butter, it tasted like sink water. Lastly, they have a mirror to provide the illusion of a much larger buffet area upon entering--this is pure deception, there's approximately 15 items in the entire buffet. To quote my wife, it was like "if Denny's had a buffet, and wanted to have seafood". They did not have what their website and advertisements had said they would have. Was rather disappointed overall, as the expectation that they were "selling" and "advertising", did not carry through. While some things were "okay", a good bit of what that they did have was cold, bland, overcooked, was "fake", tasted like it was sitting there all day, or was mush. The crab legs were not the best, either. They were cold, very soggy, and were difficult to get out of the shell. The service, though, was fantastic. For a Buffett it's decent. This place is definitely great for crab legs. Most other dishes were seasoned well. The dessert really need some help. It's smaller than Georgia, but there was literally no weight and I would say it has just a mini version of Captain George's so definitely worth it if you want crab legs. read more

The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because the dessert, raw oysters and service were great. Nothing else was. Overcooked, bland, devoid of any real flavor. The buffet was way over priced for what's offered. $35.99 is basically a rip off! For the price you'd expect a nice upscale place, however you get seated at a regular booth or table that reminds you of a place from the 90's that desperately needs renovated. Their rolls were very hard and dry. The steak that I ordered was super over cooked, dry and chewy! The side items that are offered are also very limited. No wait; friendly staff, but the food was VERY pricey for what you get. While seafood buffets tend to be more expensive, all the fried food on this one was COLD and largely, the food tasted unseasoned. Aside from the crab legs, all crab dishes on the buffet (including the deviled crab and she she-crab soup) were *IMITATION* crab meat. While I understand that the seafood did not come from the ocean literally right behind the restaurant, you would think that being right on the water, you would be served fresh seafood. I have previously been to Fish Bones a few times for their seafood buffet and had no complaints, so I went again yesterday evening. Unfortunately, upon arriving (after a 10 block walk!) I was informed that they now only have the buffet on Friday and Saturday nights and this was a Sunday. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled. Their entrée items on the menu were basic, expensive and you are limited to one side which is mostly starchy foods. My mom and I ordered drinks (which were too sweet), wings and calamari, then left to go to a better restaurant. They really should make it known in publications and their website that the buffet is only available on Fridays and Saturdays so people don't waste their time if they don't want anything from the menu. read more

Every other server we came in contact with was just as great!!! Darcy was incredible and so helpful and other servers paid great attention to us. The buffet was great and the food was so good! We drove by and noticed they had a seafood buffet with crab legs. We came in and outer awesome waitress informed us that her manager wouldn't let us get the buffet because it was shutting down in 20 mins but I could order from the menu. I told her that we would only be about 20 mins so we would be ok with paying for the buffet. She asked her manager. He said no. I went to order the 2lbs of crab for 36.00 to share with my daughter. They were going to change me 6.00 for sharing!!!! So 42.00 now. I looked at the appetizer menu and they had 1lb for 18.00. I said I can just order 2 appetizers for 36.00 right and she said yes and we don't charge sharing for that. ??????? What?? It's the same thing lol. This manager is so petty and would have lost a customer if our waitress wasn't so much better than him. I will never come here again and I would suggest you try another place as well. The management here is the worst. Update: when I posted this the manager came outside to argue with me. I asked him why he was approaching me outside since he was aware I was unhappy inside. To start off, this is a pricey restaurant. I knew that going in since it is fresh seafood. Got seated pretty quickly and our waitress was so communicative and efficient. Constantly making sure we were doing good, exchanging out the shell baskets, making sure all drinks were still full. Very consistent. I appreciated it A LOT. Especially with the price we were paying. When we walked in, we took a look over the buffet first to see if that's the route we wanted. When we saw the menu, our minds changed immediately. Seafood fills me up quickly so in a way I couldn't justify the buffet ($49.99) over getting a boil ($50) and sharing it with my partner. Turns out, that was the best course for us in the long run. We got an appetizer and then the seafood boil. We were able to finish it all, but were heavily stuffed. Mind you, we got the boil that was just for one person!! LOL There's plenty of seating for smaller groups (4 or less) and some space for larger tables too. Plus outdoor seating. Overall, it was very good for what we got. My only complaint was the shrimp being overcooked, but nothing a little cocktail sauce can't fix. Not sure if I'd take a child over the age of 4 here. Only reason I went here for dinner is for one last stand with my crab leg obsession. Food: I have to say....the crab legs were fantastic!!!! My family and I went here for dinner here and the service was slow. It took 10 minuets for the waiter to take our drink order then another 15 before the drinks came. The waiter was not attentive. He came and checked on our table and I asked for a refill on my drink. 10 minutes later he came back without my drink and I had to ask again. We dined at Fish Bones two nights in a row while on an off-season vacation. The Buffet was not available either night, and I guess that is a good thing from the reviews. My wife and I had Seafood Norfolk and the Seafood Platter on the first night. Both were delicious. On the second night, we both got the 2 LBS of crab legs. Cooked well and nice and sweet. Didn't even really need to dip them in butter. So not a world class seafood restaurant, but for on the beach, pretty good. read more
