The whole restaurant was incredible from when we walked all the thou to we walked out. The Wait staff were very friendly, smiling, and just great personalities. The atmosphere was very pleasant. (Granted we got there at a slow point of the day) The decor was very interesting, with all the naval stuff and the table were very cool as well. Now, the very best part...THE FOOD! We wanted Seafood and didn't want to travel far since it was late outside. This place was across the street from our Hotel. They had a few customers inside. We were seated and our Server Sydney greeted us and told us that the Kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. So we quickly ordered our drinks and food. We ordered Sweet Tea and it was overly Sweet, we asked for a cup of ice to dilute it. We ordered Crab Dip and Steamed Shrimp for Appetizers. The Crab Dip was good, but it wasn't hot, the Steamed Shrimp was good. I ordered the Crab Cake with French Fries, they weren't good nothing like I'm used to in Maryland we do it best. They just started doing breakfast. We loved everything we had. Their menu was very extensive which was perfect for me since I don't eat eggs. I had the sausage, hash browns and imported Halloumi cheese from Cyprus. The cheese was incredible as were the other dishes I had. $4 mimosas from 7:30 am until 2:00 pm also! Went there expecting a great meal and the shrimp and crab were so over cooked it was hard to get them out of the shell. The crab was stuck to the inside shell and had to be cut open to get the dry crab out. In town for the weekend and found this place near our hotel for dinner. Brooke our server was great. She was friendly and made dinner and app suggestions. We decided on the bang bang shrimp and steamed clams. The bang bang shrimp was a little spicy but was very good and the shrimp were huge! For dinner we ordered the Delmonico steak with a baked potato and the fried shrimp dinner and baked potato. Everything came out fast and was hot. The cocktail sauce was definitely homemade with old bay seasoning and was my favorite! We ate inside but there was outdoor seating as well. Great location, and very good service. read more

The hubs and I were celebrating his birthday in Virginia Beach one weekend. We checked into the hotel around 8ish o'clock, and hit the streets for food. I'm not familiar with the area, so I was ready to use the Yelp App, but the hubs had already walked through the Nautilus Restaurant doors lol. Upon entry, I noticed it was quiet with a few people eating, and one finished paying the check. A hostess showed us to a table where our waitress greeted and brought water. I perused the menu quickly, but it was the hubs choice since it was his celebratory weekend. He opted for the shrimp and fish with a side of fries. There was also an order of a twisted mango colada that was delicious, sweet, and creamy. If there was alcohol in there I wouldn't know lol. Our waitress was also very sweet and nice. She shared she was only a few weeks into her waitressing position. When the food hit the table I dug in. The fish and shrimp were battered evenly. I felt the seasoning was on point where we were able to taste the seafood, and not just a huge thick of breaded batter. The waitress did say the shrimp and fish were frozen, one being from Alaska, and the other unknown. The fries were tasty, crunchy, and fried fresh. As I have said a 3 or 4 star review is not a bad review. But while my logical side says everything about this place was a solid "beach average" I would bump them up a star. First iff the food, good overall, I had the fried oysters which were not overbreaded!! My wife got the typical you find them everywhere old bay seasoned peel and eat shrimp. The food was good overall, about what I expexted. I was not a fan of the music they were playing outdoors and in that section of atlantic you get the car and motorcycle "revvers" which detracted from the feel of the place. The service was a slow but we got there as the evening rush was peaking. Although I did note the service at a few other tables was more attentive. So overall a solid place to go with good food and decent service. Prices were a solid medium too. read more

Pretty good and filling. After a fun day at the beach, I got food from here which was right across the Hampton Inn North Front. My wife had the burger, I got the shrimp scampi, my 4yo daughter got the chicken tenders, and my 7yo son had popcorn shrimp. According to my son, they have the best French fries, but he's said that about every other place... so take that with a grain of salt. After reading reviews we were exceedingly disappointed with this place. Their rendition of bang bang shrimp used really good big shrimp but the sauce just wasn't good. We thought the shrimp basket would have nice shrimp but they served little popcorn shrimp that was nothing but breading. They have nice big shrimp so how disappointing to have little popcorn shrimp served to you instead. I would much rather have 5 or 6 nice big shrimp than 25 popcorn overbreaded shrimp. Well.... what can I say!? This place was wonderful. Everything....and I mean everything was great. The service (our waitress was the best. She said that she was new and from MIAMI), the appetizers, the entrees, the drinks and the water even tasted great! We ate here for dinner. I must admit that I wanted to go back again the next day for lunch, but I didn't want to put pressure on my traveling buddies. I can see myself taking an overnight trip to VA Beach just to dine here again. It's been a good while since we've had delicious seafood like this. And trust me, we know great seafood. We ordered the full gamut.... fish, burgers, fried shrimp, oysters, steak, chicken, salads, crab legs and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Everything was absolutely amazing. From the outside, who knew that the food would be so great? Our waitress was confident that we'd love this place and she was oh so right! Came here on a Saturday for lunch around 1 and it was dead. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. Something I wouldn't order back home. The sandwich was pretty ok. Wife ordered the chicken fingers. They were pretty good nothing special. Wife also order last minute hush puppies. She said they were the best she has ever had. So I bump the review to 4 stars. Total cost for lunch for two meals with the puppies and two pops was around $50. Not terribly bad Our service was friendly enough. I feel like I needed to add to this review because it's short. Throughout most of the ordering and till we got our food we got to listen to the people adjacent to us talk to this older couple about their life's journey and how they got to Virginia Beach. They made plans to meet up at dinner as well. Mind you it sounded like they just met each other and I was dying to know how they just started talking to these random people that were almost double their age. I had so many questions. Guess I'll never know or find out. I would recommend this place. I would have liked to try more food. Maybe next time read more

Stayed here for a family vacation, went to Nautilus 2Xs. Both times food was outstanding as well as the service. Our server the second time was Nick and he was exceptional! Loved the lobster bites for the appetizer, crab cakes and mozz sticks! Everything tasted great and never waited to be seated (for the time we went). Food and drinks came out at a decent time frame and all orders always came out correct. We plan to come back to VA Beach and definitely plan to return for another visit to this restaurant. So, we found this restaurant quite by accident Saturday evening. We had been directed to a seafood restaurant in a hotel further down Atlantic Ave., but we were tired after leaving the beach and walking with our chairs. (Be advised: the wait times for restaurants on the beach (and attached to hotels) can be very long.). Anyway, as we were walking this restaurant came up the left (W) side of the street, not too far from the main entrance of the beach (Where Neptune's statue is located.). It's an unassuming little spot that had indoor and outdoor seating. There was no line outside. When I called they said there was no wait time. We crossed the street, got seated inside immediately. The seating was not tight and we were not up on other guests. The wait staff was friendly and courteous. We had the best meal! There were three in my party and all of us were pleased. It wasn't terribly expensive either. I ordered the ribeye with shrimp and grilled veggies. It's wasn't a steakhouse steak, but it was good. We sat down outside bc I had my dog. The young lady greeted us right away and we gave her our drink menu. She was very quick to return with our drinks and take our order. We ordered a variety of food. Cheeseburgers, shrimp platter, and a vegetarian meal. They had everything we ordered. It took about 9 mins to get the food. The entire wait time the server checked on us made sure our drinks were full and even brought my husky a bowl of water :) the food was awesome! Burgers were cooked perfectly and the shrimp was amazing! The server was the only one outside and she had about 5/6 tables. She did amazingly!
