I went to have a duplicate made for my safe deposit box key. The person there was less than welcoming and not at all gracious; surly, in fact. He took my key to the back. Since he wasn't wearing a mask, I went outside to wait. When he came out of the back after several minutes (which I guess was for show), he quoted me a price of $45 for a single key because, he said, it was a safe deposit key. When I tried to ask why it was so expensive and whether that was an industry standard, he became defensive and said, "That's what I charge.", handing me back the key. I went to 2 other places. One was $15. Another was $7.50. I got it made for $7.50 at Brothers Lock and Safe, in Edison, an 84% discount from the Firstline price. Draw your own conclusions. I was wearing my BLM mask and t-shirt. Maybe that had something to do with the price and demeanor. read more

Used them today to make a truck key and a house key that the Depot messed up . These guys are absolutely the best. Real Locksmiths like in the old days. I don't believe there is anything with locks or keys these guys can't fix or duplicate. read more

I had a minor issue trying to fix a lock cylinder. My DIY basically went haywire. I contacted them and they advised me to bring in the components which I thought were now useless. The tech took my parts and merged them with some new ones. Twenty minutes later I had a fully functioning lock with two new keys for under $20. Also had a good conversation with the owner Mike which helped pass the time. Firstline is now my primary and hopefully only Locksmith. read more

Excellent!!! In a rush to get our grandaughter to her first day of summer camp, my husband and I left without our house keys. If that wasn't enough of a problem..we had to be at the car dealer in an hour to pick up a car we purchased over the weekend. We explained our situation and they were here in 20 minutes!!! They knew we needed to get in and could have racked up any charges they wanted...we would have had to pay. But they didn't. They were fast and efficient and charged us under $100 bucks!! While they responded quickly to a lock issue, their professionalism left a lot to be desired. While paying for the service in the hallway of my building, the locksmith had "billing" on speaker phone. Instead of taking my credit card number and processing the transaction like a professional, the person on the other end of the phone says "so is she hot?" because the idiot didn't know he was on speaker phone. This is not the kind of business I want to work with, nor support. How is my appearance relevant at all in paying for the locksmith service? The quick answer: IT'S NOT. I did not feel comfortable in my own home with this company and will not be using them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone looking for a professional locksmith. read more

I wasn't sure who to call but found Firstline via Home Advisors. I spoke with Joey who happened to reach me at an inconvenient time but he was very understanding and gave me his cell number as I wasn't going to be able to get back to him until after business hours. I texted and he immediately responded, not only did he have someone from their office contact us to set an appointment he followed up on a weekend to be sure everything was set for Monday. Who else does something like that? Excellent service. I wasn't home but my wife spoke very highly of the gentleman, Rob, who replaced our locks. I was told he was courteous and professional and made sure everything was working perfectly before he left. Would use Firstline again in a heartbeat. read more
