Got locked out of my apartment recently and made the mistake of choosing Brunswick Local Locksmith to help me. The first red flag was that the website clearly says 15% off your first lockout while those on the phone tried to convince me that it's only 5%. The representative I was assigned was completely unprofessional. He didn't let me know that it wasn't guaranteed I would get in and tried two ways to open the door. He only said that the third way would cause damage to the door. I am renting so obviously, this was not possible. After I paid a ridiculous amount of money for NOT getting into my apartment, I ended up making a trip to grab my spare key. Once I returned, I found the door was jammed and not even my spare key could open it. Clearly, the door was damaged by the locksmith and when I had a maintenance team help me, we found that the box strike plate was completely dented. In addition, a lot of paint was chipped off the door, and there's now a gap even when the door is fully closed. So, I paid an astronomical price for having my door damaged, which my building had to fix themselves, in addition to not having my problem resolved. The receipt states that I paid on the basis of being fully satisfied with the service which is evidently NOT the case. Avoid to salvage your bank account and your mental health. read more

John was short and rude over the phone and quoted us $15 to show up and approximately $80 total for the job depending on amount of work needed to open the door. He showed up on time and popped/credit carded the door in less than 10 seconds. Then he charged us $125 plus tax. Switch and bait tactics. Business takes too much advantage of people in need. Avoid avoid avoid at all costs. Would give zero if possible. Could not complete a simple mailbox lock change leaving the mailbox with no lock and wide open. Then they tried to shake me down for $100. I said I would pay upon completion of the job. The worker cursed using every awful name possible, threaten me with violence, and then spat on me as he drove off! I'm in shock. When I first called this company I was very impressed. I needed new locks in my house when we first moved in.. I called them, they answered right away, gave me a great quote for the work, and set an appt up for the next day. I was pleased with the responsiveness and the price. Until the next day when the technician came to do the work, he told my husband a completely different price (way more expensive than what I was told). I had him call the gentleman I spoke with the night before and he denied what I said and agreed with the tech. My husband had him just do the work since he was already there. They charged us almost $500 just to replace locks on 3 doors which I have come to find out was completely overpriced. I felt like we were taken advantage of and completely lied to. But after talking with the owner of the business the situation was corrected, seems like they really cares about his customers and them having a good experience. I have to give mike five stars. I locked myself out of my home and needed a locksmith urgently. I browsed yelp and found Mike had good reviews, thus I gave him a call. He was at my house within 25 minutes, exactly the time google maps said it would take for him to get to my House. Very happy he arrived quickly due to my situation. Mike opened the door within 10 minutes. He was careful about the possible damage to the door, thus he tried multiple methods to open the door. I do have some minor indents in the door frame but guess I can't complain considering he arrived quickly and was able to open the door. He also gave some sound advice to prevent this from happening again. I high recommend mike to anyone who is in need of a locksmith. Read the reviews! They will try to charge you for every little thing they do. I didn't go any further than the initial call with one of their "technicians". It was sketchy at first when they bounced me between three different "technicians" for the initial call. They were able to come to my home in one hour's time. It sounded great.. until I read up on the reviews. I called the technician back and asked how much they charge. 30 dollars just to drive a few miles?! gtfo. Legit! I've never written a yelp review, so I'm making it a point to rate this locksmith 5 stars. I lost my only transponder car key last night, called this morning after researching a bunch of locksmiths (many of which rip you off or try to scam you), and hoped for the best with Brunswick Local Locksmith. Mike, the technician, arrived promptly when he said he would, was super friendly and did his job. I had a replacement within 20 minutes, on site, and he even said he wouldn't charge me the tax. It's great that they are available to immediately assist you, but as others have found, once onsite you will receive an exorbitant estimate that does not align with the over the phone quote. I understand that the issue described over the phone may differ from the actual problem, but I was able to find a locksmith to solve my problem at about 2/3 less than what the locksmith from this company quoted me. read more

Lady on the phone was professional and quoted $15 for service fees and labor starting at $35. I was told technician will arrive in 20 min. The guy showed up in 1 hr and told me total price will be $169. This is outrageous. I waited for an hour and had no other option, so I agreed to pay. He used BP cuff and regular wire to unlock the car which is very standard way to unlocking. It took the guy 2 min to open the car and he charged $169 for it. I got locked out of the house, and called this company. Some weird EXTREMELY RUDE guy showed up who barely spoke english and opened the door in 2 mins and then continued to remove the lock without my permission. Did not tell us anything until he finished in a few more mins and then demanded $190 for the lock removal and additional $60 for installing another lock. The same lock that goes for $10 at home depot. I gave him $190 and asked him to leave. p.s. The guy demanded cash and wasn't courteous at all. This is a complete and utter scam. The guy was 40 minutes late and told me an hour later it was too dark to complete the job. For context, I needed a new car key made and he told me it would take twenty minutes. They are a 24/7 service, so i was dumbfounded that this was a problem. I told him that wouldn't be necessary as I will just call someone else. he left my door panel completely disassembled and my trunk lock mechanism was broken. I just had the most terrible experience with this company. I locked myself out of my apartment and needed to call a locksmith at 9pm. I chose Brunswick Local Locksmith based on the reviews. On the phone, the guy told me I would be paying $20 for opening the door and $15 for the service call. When the guy arrived he told me I had to pay him $20 for driving there (it's two miles away) and $165!!! For the lock. It isn't even a deadbolt. The lock is the basic cheap round gold knob kind. He told me he would charge me less if I paid cash. I sent him on his way when he started to get sarcastic and snarky at my disbelief. I then called the company back and asked them why this guy quadrupled the price. He then told me that he'd send the guy back for $75. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.
