Get a car wash - free rainbow
    Elvin C.

First time visiting after my RP local closed shop (hope temp). Came here with for the average higher ratings but curious about the fewer Yelps. This hand car wash is part of the Marathon station here so the register is shared jointly. There's refreshments here if you'd like pick some up which is a selection others may not have. Five level of washes (I attached photo of their menu) and I went with the basic level 5 for $19. Wanted exterior and interior, wheels, but no dressing on the dash/tires. Seems to be a $1 higher than what the competition is charging (at least at their websites, I know in person it can be hiked). Just three bays/teams washing three cars at once. A wash exterior, clean interior, and a mats clean up team it seems. There's a number of chairs inside and the windows put you in front of the middle bay with a view of the first and last. This was a smaller shop than what I was used to at Rogers Park in its prime. So driving up there were two cars ahead of me waiting. Cars are in the street at that point and after. Pretty detail oriented as I didn't expect them to hit my mats so well (they are all weather, so no carpet). One guy did a cursory on the trunk (where I have a tray), so that was appreciated too - I had not cleared the trunk. Only thing I really had to do after getting back in was to microfiber the touchscreen and I was set. Would have to say mats were dry (not slippery wet) and will check, seemingly locked back into place! Smaller team, longer wait, better attention? But if there's no wait...pull right up. the $1 more if that is worth the job.

Oh the days of $10 car wash are gone, so I owe it to you, First Wheel. It's one I go back frequently so I need to up my star. It's a small business owned by a nice family that's been in business for more than 20 years! I remember when they started their car wash business and then they renovated, which is what it looks like today. The workers are diligent and the owner, himself, works on the cars so you know he really cares about his business. It's the only one in the area that I actually trust & go to, so they really deserve 5 stars.

Amazing car wash! They crew here does a great job. I bring all my cars here and so do my friends and family. It's a little drive from where we live but it's worth it for the quality service they provide.

I always go to this place. I feel they do a great job and are a very nice family business. They have an under wash, which is where water is sprayed under your car prior to going into the car wash. This would be needed if you have a lot of salt water or mud under your car that you want to remove. (You have to ask for it before you enter.)

I've tried a lot of car washes in Chicago. This place ranks right up there in the top 3. The friendliness of the owners as well as their attention to certain details makes them one of my favorites. For the basic wash that costs $12, the hand wash the exterior, vacuum the interior, clean the mats and dash, as well as windows inside and out. They go the extra few inches and dry the mats before putting them back in, something that other places seem to forget. They do a good job of getting the water in the door sills and trunk seams. The only negatives are that the location is kid of weird. They do not have the prices out front. It's located at a Marathon gas station, so you end up waiting in the convenience store area. It was a Sunday and maybe they didn't have a full staff, but the wait was a little long for only being the second one out in the line. Still, the friendly service and the extra attention to detail inside and out make this a place worth a shot.

The service is impeccable and the staff is amazing. The deal is also very good for washing the exterior and cleaning the interior of my car.

This is my favorite car wash in town. They do the best interior job. The prices are responsible for the service.

I didn't know how to work the vacuums at first but then a really cool guy named Elijah helped me out without me asking him so props to him for seeing a customer in need. Then this girl named Natalie helped sign me up for a membership. She explained me the memberships and how they worked so I bought the classic membership. I think it's priced well. For the first month it's $10 and then after that it's $20 a month. I really appreciate Natalie for talking me into buying the membership. I didn't feel like bothering Natalie anymore so I parked my car and went inside to talk to the manager. His name is Brian he is a really cool dude to talk to. He told me about the detail kit and what that was. It's really good to clean your car with. Really good customer service here. They are really helpful and nice people huge props to them.

I've given this place multiple chances because it's conveniently located and, judging by the…read moreconstant line of cars, clearly popular. But at this point, I can't justify going back. The core issue isn't just that there's always a line--it's that the line is chaos. There's no clear system, no active management, and no sense that anyone is responsible for keeping things orderly. Cars cut in front of each other, people inch forward aggressively to claim space, and what should be a straightforward wait turns into a stressful, almost competitive experience. I've seen more than a few tense exchanges between customers, and it completely undermines what should be a routine errand. To be fair, the staff seem young and well-intentioned. They're not disengaged or rude. But they also don't appear trained or empowered to manage the flow of traffic or address the disorder. When things back up--which is often--there's no visible effort to step in and create structure. It feels like everyone is just reacting rather than running an actual system. And then there's the wash itself, which is... fine. Not terrible, but certainly not worth the time, frustration, and unpredictability of the experience leading up to it. For a place that clearly has high demand, you'd expect a more polished operation and a better end result. What's most frustrating is that this feels fixable. A clearly defined queue, active line management, and some basic customer flow discipline would go a long way. Instead, it's left to chance--and the result is a place that feels stressful and, frankly, unpleasant to visit. There are too many other options out there to justify dealing with this level of disorganization.
