Worst Eggs Bennett I've ever had! Two hard boiled eggs with tasteless hollandaise sauce on top. See photo of hard boiled egg.

I came in for a graduation breakfast with my daughter. Its a nice clean location. I had a classic eggs benedict, and my daughter had a salmon frittata they were both DELICIOUS. Our server was friendly and prompt and we were very happy.

Finally got a first watch in Tallahassee! The restaurant is a spacious and has a great morning atmosphere. I ordered the chicken quinoa bowl and carnitas breakfast quesadillas both did not disappoint! For the chicken quinoa bowl, the pesto dressing gave a nice balance for the quinoa and the roasted tomatoes added to the flavor all finishing it up with heathy portions of kale, shedded carrots, and grilled chicken. The quesadilla was also delicious with the carnitas and egg in the quesadillas and jalapeño crema on top. For my drink I got the watermelon wake up! Tasted like I was sitting on the beach eating a fresh slice of watermelon yum! Val was my Waitress she was very sweet and always had a smile on her face. Food service was quick and overall experience was excellent. Will definitely come back again.

We first encountered First Watch quite a few years ago in Orlando and enjoyed breakfast there. Many years later we now have one in Tallahassee and, once the new wore off, we have been a couple of times. Breakfast and drink post-pandemic is now about $15 per person at most of the places in town where we enjoy having breakfast (besides my money saving Denny's) and at First Watch you better be prepared for $20 per person. Interior is open and roomy with lots of booths or tables and chairs for seating. Service is friendly and attentive. Food has taken awhile to come out when we have gone there and it was not crowded. The lemon ricotta pancakes are the star of the menu. The other things we have tried have been fine but no wow. For us, if they didn't have the lemon ricotta pancakes then we would go elsewhere for breakfast and save a little money. I know we will be back for those pancakes once I get over the sticker shock of our latest meal and I will let you know if I find anything else that is wow on the menu.

Great Food and Service! Will definitely enjoy stopping by again! Very nice environment to enjoy while eating.

Salted Caramel Holey Donuts & Million Dollar Bacon

First Watch is a chain restaurant. While we usually prefer to patronize local independent restaurants, we are not opposed to trying a chain once in a while. On this particular Sunday morning we arrived about 8:30 am. There were a few groups seated outside enjoying their breakfast and that made us fearful that there were no tables available inside. We were wrong. There were plenty of tables available inside as well as a bar for single diners who might prefer that seating. We were promptly greeted and taken to our table. Be forewarned, if you get cold inside restaurants due to air conditioning, bring a fleece jacket. I forgot mine on this visit. The restaurant is spacious and open. You definitely do not feel like you're seated next to other diners who can listen to your every word. The server was also prompt pleasant and returned swiftly not only with water glasses but a bottle of water for our easy refilling. She also brought a carafe of coffee for my dining companion. We ordered the seasonal Salted Caramel Holey Donuts. My dining companion loved these! I thought they were a little too cakey for my liking. They made up for it with the glaze and toppings though! The plate came with a baker's dozen donut holes, plenty for sharing with a larger party. My companion also ordered the Million Dollar Bacon, which was delicious! The bacon was sweet, savory and crisp! I ordered the Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos, which included 3 wheat-corn tortillas with scrambled cage-free eggs, Cajun chicken, chorizo, Cheddar and Monterey Jack. Topped with fresh avocado and pico de gallo. Although the entree is served with seasoned black beans, I requested breakfast potatoes and they made the substitution without additional charge. I think the meal was served in less than 7 minutes. I was astonished at the speed of service and speed of food, though we were not made to feel rushed. I think the secret to getting a table swiftly is to arrive prior to 9 am. That's when the pace of diners started to pick up. I would gladly return to this location again. The food was excellent and the service was on point.

I always like to give updates as I try other food items on the menu. The star of this photo was the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and of course you can not go wrong with the House Potatoes (which were back in, lol). We were seated pretty fast but as I looked around I could tell they weren't as busy as usual so as I could assume the reviews has something to do with it. Our waiter seemed nice and had a sense of humor; however, I believe this is the part that's hurting the restaurant. You seat quickly yet the wait of service is long and for the amount one spends here they should be checking on their tables and refilling beverages when needed. One could have amazing food but if your staff lacks customer service it will fail. So back to the star of my day, the Pancakes. These babies were so good and rich that I couldn't even finish them. No, syrup needed even though I asked for some, lol. I was even more happy to see the Publix brand used as their sugar-free option. I would recommend that you try these and tell me what you think. I believe my next visit will be a pickup order. I hope that these issues be taken into consideration and fixed because I would hate for this to stop the flow of business or increase more unpleasant reviews.

The bacon was good and I love strawberry pancakes so I'm a big fan when that's on the menu. Large table inside was much better although the chair was uncomfortable for this big guy. Our drinks were brought quickly as well as plates of their lagniappe of pimento cheese and Ritz crackers. Our food orders were taken quickly too. Took a good amount of time to get our food and I don't think anyone was impressed with the flavor. I got neither a smoky taste nor a sausage taste from the sausage in my omelette. The Gruyère cheese was bland. Smoked Gouda grits needed salt and were not much for flavor either. Wife's French toast was ok and the bacon was rather plain for flavor. Service was excellent and the food came out pretty quick once it got done so it was still warm. It is loud inside when it is busy. Concrete floors and open ceiling guarantees plenty of echo. This is another $15-$20/person breakfast place to choose from and, for me, I would choose one of my favorites in the future. Glad I tried it because lots of people love the place but it's not for me.

If you crave their savory Wagyu burger be sure to reserve a seat in bar/bistro seating OR visit them on their new Burger Monday in the dining room. We chose to dine on their colorful outdoor terrace, and when I tell you that we were transported to another country.... I mean, it literally took us out of Tally and dropped us in a tropical paradise. As the sun went down, the lights began to glow. The ambiance was surreal. I repeatedly told my husband I felt thousands of miles away from home. Was it the cafe lights or the Sangria? I can't be sure. The live music began and it was a whole vibe. Heads turned, ears perked up, and an entire terrace just exhaled. The sultry atmosphere was only overshadowed by the savory food. Dear Lord we ate far too much. What is that saying? Ask forgiveness not permission. Sounds about right. We started with cocktails and Fried Yucca. The Jamaican Margarita was a perfect blend with a sweet sugared rim. The Sangria was a full party in the glass with fresh fruit. The Yucca portion was hefty, but we ate it ALL. In hindsight, we should have saved more room for our actual meal. We ordered Lomo Saltado Beef that was so tender and rich, and it was accompanied by another hefty portion of indulgent carbs. See? That's where moderation in our starter would have been wise. Ahh lessons learned. If we had saved half of the Yucca for leftovers it would have reheated in an air fryer beautifully. We also ordered the Escabeche which was a beautifully fried , snapper filet served with sweet potato and rice. The sauce was simple and elegant with that classic tart vinegar bite. We looked at the dessert menu. I repeat, looked. We simply had no more room. We'll be back soon and promise to make it to the dessert menu and coffee.
