I'm not sure how to rate First Watch. They have an extensive breakfast menu. Many options sounded really good. I had trouble deciding what to order. It's nice that they brought out a pitcher of water and one of coffee. Several different flavored creamers are available. Our server was nice. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite there. I had the eggs Florentine with potatoes. The eggs were overcooked, while the potatoes were closer to undercooked. They were at the stage where they are edible, but they still felt kind of hard and had a bit of that raw potato taste. My husband thought the same of his potatoes. Based on how busy they were, I want to believe this was a fluke. We will try again another time. read more

This place has quick and friendly service, and decent food. I give this place three stars because it has everything a breakfast place should, but it is not stellar. Four/five stars would be for fancier dining, but it your looking for a good middle-of-the-road place, First Watch is it! I got the Trifecta which included 2 eggs, sausage, and a pancake. The pancake was super fluffy and was excellent. I could not finish it, it was so big! I will give lots of kudos to the waitress. When my coffee wasn't very hot, she replaced it immediately with freshly brewed, steaming coffee. She was attentive the whole time and very sweet. A chain, albeit a tasty breakfast/brunch spot that occasionally makes the rotation, and why not? The food is good. Menu seems to have been updated in recent years. This particular location is fairly large so you might not wait as long as you do at some of the others, particularly on weekends. We waited less than ten minutes on our last visit. I am in town for business. I had a 10 hour drive and then didn't sleep so well. I looked for somewhere to eat and found First Watch. I am really glad that I did. I sat at the communal table and was met by Hanna, my server. She greeted me with such a warm smile that I couldn't possibly have a bad day after it. The food was really great. I had the Chili Chorizo omelette and it was delicious. The coffee was good and plentiful and I have a juice with apple, beets, ginger and some other things that was great. I will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone I know. If the rest of the staff is as wonderful as Hanna is, they, and all the customers, are very lucky. read more

Now, don't get me wrong, the food at any First Watch is amazing...but how each individual place prepares it can be pretty different. The staff at this particular location are always ridiculously friendly & courteous, & the food always seems like it's prepared with that "extra touch of love & care." The restaurant is clean & service is prompt. One major gripe is parking...it gets pretty darn limited on busy days. If you're able to, mid-morning weekdays are best...but if you must brave the crowds on a Saturday or Sunday, it'll probably be a wise idea to call ahead to check on waiting times. read more

Woohoo! Best Sunday Brunch spot we've been to since we left Brooklyn! Sooooo glad we found this place! I love that it's Brunch, the whole Brunch, and nothing but the Brunch. Win. At 10:30 on a Sunday, we had hardly any wait. Our server, Chris, was awesome. Friendly but sincere. Attentive but not hover-y. And on our way out he said I was "crazy beautiful", which would normally creep me out, but he was so polite and genuine that I was very flattered. The other folks working there who weren't responsible for our table were also very courteous and helpful. Great service! The restaurant definitely has a chain feel to it, but the quality of the service and the down-home realness of the food makes it feel like a hole-in-the-wall mom and pop place. Speaking of food...SO. So I've heard about First Watch for quite some time, since it appears to be a favorite of Cincinnatians. To be honest, it didn't rank high on my list of brunch spots since I am not a fan of chains. My boyfriend swore that First Watch was amazing, so off we went. The place was PACKED. There wasn't even parking available in the lot! We were told that the wait was 20 plus minutes, but we could be seated at the community table immediately. We opted for the community table, since we had a list of errands to run. We were attended to within minutes and our food arrived about 10 minutes after that! I opted for the Avocado, Bacon, and Tomato Hash which was delicious and light. I also got the Day Glow, which is a carrot, orange, and ginger blend juice. I enjoyed everything that I ordered as well as the service. If you want consistently great, fresh breakfast anytime between 7AM and 2:30PM, First Watch is your place! I work very close to this one and it's in my top 5 lunch spots. What I love most about it is it's not only delicious every time, but many of their menu items are healthy and can be tweaked for the calorie conscious. Subbing egg whites is free in all their omelets! First Watch Springdale is almost always busy, although I've rarely waited more than a minute or two for a table. Parking can be laborious, but well-rewarded once you get inside. Coffee is served by the carafe alongside a variety of flavored and plain half-and-half. Coffee service would only be better if they could start an IV drip! The menu has quite a selection, from classic breakfasts to burgers and wraps. I've tried a few other things but almost always get the Tri-Athlete Omelet because it's super low-cal and filling. On this particular trip though I got the Greek Fetish Omelet with egg whites. It comes with dressed greens or potatoes and an English muffin. I opted for the greens, but they put potatoes on the plate instead. The server had already caught it and brought me the plate with potatoes on it but then quickly returned with the greens. Oh darn, such a shame to have to eat potatoes too! They were crispy and cooked perfectly. I love the dressed greens, too. They have just enough dressing and taste delicious. The omelet was crazy-good. Feta and eggs is always a win! I came here years ago and had a great breakfast so returned during a family trip. Everyone was nice so I'm not going to badmouth it too much. But in general service was slow, the food was cold (and about $10 per breakfast), the breakfast sandwich is on a hamburger bun and the potatoes taste overwhelmingly like garlic powder. I've been to 5 or 6 different First Watch locations in the Cincinnati area and usually receive good service and great food. Today, however, was the worst experience I've had at any of the locations, which is why I felt the need leave a review. Typically I'd give 4 or 5 stars for both food and service and today, food was a 4 (still good as usual) and service was a 1. I came with my sisters for brunch, and the only time we saw our server was when she took our order. She did not run our food, she did not check back at any time to refill drinks or ask how everything was, and she did not drop the check until I went up to the desk at the front and asked for it from the host. I am a server myself and I get that sometimes you get busy, but she didn't throw so much as a glance in our direction for the entirety of our meal, even though she walked past our table 10+ times. Though it was a little busy, the restaurant was not full, and I could see that she had some downtime between tasks. Once I asked for the check at the front, she hurriedly brought it to us and apologized for "forgetting about us" and walked away. Obviously, I was a bit frustrated and very dissatisfied with the service I received. From my own personal experience as a server, I always do everything in my power to improve a guest's experience if something goes wrong, and I felt that my server did not care one way or the other about our experience. read more

I am not a frequent patron of First Watch, but I have been before. The food is generally top notch. They have a good selection of vegetarian fare, which is rare, and the fare is actually good, which can be even more rare. We dropped in most recently on a Saturday morning for a late breakfast, and although the place was busy, we were seated and served right away. If you are there at a busy time, parking can be a mess, since they're in the same strip with one of the 3 major Sprint stores in the area. We had to park in a nearby lot and walk over. Not a big deal, but something you should be aware of. The food at First Watch is always well prepared, to order. I have no complaint with how my food was prepared. I was a little disappointed to order pumpkin "pancakes" and be served a single pancake. It was plenty, since I had also ordered soup, but I think I expected at least 2 since they said "pancakes" on the menu. I was less than enthusiastic about the coffee, though they apparently sell it branded as First Watch coffee that you can buy at the register. I am not a coffee snob, but I just wasn't impressed enough to buy it and take it home. However, the orange juice was very good. the big thing, for me, about First Watch is that it isn't really a great value. You pay a premium, but I'm not convinced I get the value. I can get food that is just as good around the corner, and spend a lot less on it. You have to decide if you think it is unique enough to pay the extra. read more

They also seem to do a good job with having inventive and creative dishes. They have the staples, but also seasonal offerings. My favorite was the banana crème brulee waffle ithat was for the summer season. I also like the power up breakfast. which is an egg white frittata with swiss cheese, turkey sausage, mushrooms, and onions. Scrumdiddlyumtious!!! The only problem with this one is the parking. There is not e nough and there is no surrounding areas to park. If you happen to get lucky and not sit like an eagle for a spot, then you still have to wait inside at peak times. Almost always the scrambled eggs are way over cooked and the bacon is never crispy. Most recently I got a trifecta with bacon, scramble eggs, and a waffle. I enjoyed a late brunch at First Watch on Sunday morning. The restaurant was crowded, but the hostess did a great job to get me seated quickly. I ordered the tri-fecta (banana granola crunch pancake, apple chicken sausage, and scrambled eggs) and the first watch potatoes. It was delicious. The service I received was outstanding. My drink was always full and I was offered a to go drink. The only reason I rated this 4 instead of 5 stars is that I feel $15 for brunch at a place like this is too much. read more

Normally I love First Watch but today (Fathers Day 2018) was very disappointing. Eggs over hard were over crisp & dry, pancake was over cooked and hard in bottom, food wasn't hot, eggs over medium were actually over hard (no runny middles). Waitress told us she would get the manager and then just brought us two little packets of coffee. Never did get to talk to a manager. We ate most of it because we didn't want to wait another 30-40 minutes only to have the same experience. Springdale First Watch has been disappointing last 3 out of 4 visits. This particular location only will not be getting my business again. I ordered eggs toasts potatoes and bacon. The bacon was by super crispy like I typically like it but I ate it anyways. Come to find out the bacon was undercooked. That evening I was sick and had some sort of food poisoning. The kitchen staff needs to be taught the proper cooking time/temp of bacon. We went on a Sunday.. As expected it was absolutely packed. We had a waiter who attended us very poorly. He seemed annoyed we weren't ready the second we sat down at the table to order. He also abandoned us after the food arrived (by someone else). No drink refills in sight.. We actually saw him making small talk with other clients, not sure what his issue with us was.
