I love First Watch, visit often - but this one is not so good. I always order one of two sandwiches, my favorite being the ham and gruyere with the spice Dijonnaise. They just did not make this one right. It seemed as though it was missing that special Dijonnaise and had only mayonnaise. My sandwich was also soggy instead of the typical crispy grilled cheese. I opted for the tomato basil soup instead of a salad, and it was very thick. Waitress was kind of nonexistent after taking our order. It's two weeks, they still need to work out a few kinks, but not bad. Our server Amy was amazing and so was the manager. Couldn't get the eggs right, but everything else was on point. This was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with the food I have ever had at a First Watch. My Husband and I sat and ate our entire meal not realizing we were both trying not to complain. At the end I finally said "I don't know what I'm tasting but it's terrible". He quickly chimed in and said "Yes EVERYTHING taste the exact same" like the salt/aftertaste was so overpowering you literally could not taste anything on your plate. It was the most disgusting aftertaste left in your mouth you have EVER HAD and we were both sitting there suffering in silence. We told the manager first that we're were not looking for anything free or a discount but asked the manager what the heck we were tasting. The manager said there is a First Watch seasoning that they season EVERYTHING with and that's likely what we're tasting. Well That was EXACTLY what it was and it overpowered EVERYTHING!!!!! The manager did apologize but this was the absolute WORST experience we have ever had and I can honestly say I don't think we will ever be back. read more

Things haven't changed here at all! Haven't been here in 4 months and food and service was terrible. Waffle and 2 eggs over well were disgusting. Service sucks. I get if its short staff but we went on a slow day, plenty of workers in the kitchen. Nobody acknowledged our table for a while. Not even offering waters...nothing. First Watch at 18665 FL-54, Lutz, FL Nice place, sat outside with my friends. Ordered the Eggs Benedict (classic) with no hollandaise sauce - easy order. All 3 ordered came out together but my eggs were smothered with hollandaise. sent it back - my friends finished their meal before my order came out - this took too long and was room temp - not the way to enjoy eggs. my mistake was not having the meal taken off the bill and just pay for the coffee. too bad the management did not do the right thing and take the late meal off the bill. Abysmal service....I've been here three times over the past 6 months. Last visit prior to today was in April. Took 20 minutes to get water and coffee. 45 minutes for the food to come (it was cold and obviously sitting). I didn't eat it and I was just ready to leave. Manager gave me a $20 gift card for our next visit for the poor service... It's been over four months so I came back today to give it another try... Same exact experience... 15 minutes to get water and my food was ice cold when it came out. Didn't even get to eat it. The meal came with queso that turned hard because it was sitting for so long. This was our GO TO place for weekly breakfast but now it's slow service and the food is cold, over-cooked or under cooked. Coffee is cold and they told us no flavored coffee creamer because they had a big crowd over the Easter weekend. Server took a long time to bring syrup and gave us our check so we wouldn't have to wait??? It's was more like here is your check because I won't be back. This is by far the worst first watch. Service is SLOW. On a weekday you will still wait over 30 minutes for breakfast food. My husband called to order to go and was told an hour....went back an hour later and was told 20 more minutes. The training at this location is clearly poor. Carolwood and palm harbor location get food out in under 10 minutes and the servers are kind and efficient. This location needs major help from corporate. read more

Rudest server I've ever had. I am a hostess and server and have been in the service industry for many years and I have never had worse service. First of all she had on a mesh mask. Second she came to the table and immediately asked what we wanted to eat, no hi, no drinks, nothing. She takes our order and then doesn't return for an hour. She served everyone around us and completely ignored us. When we finally asked about our food, she immediately returned with our food. We went here on a Sunday afternoon, after church. I think everyone had the same idea. It was a 20 minute wait but well worth it. The chicken chili bean soup was excellent. The sandwich was yummy. The breakfast tacos were delicious. The server was nice and service was good. We'll definitely be returning for another meal. Got take out from here towards the middle of June and the food was subpar. Figured it was an off day. My wife and daughter went back Thursday around 11:45 and it was busy yet. Food came out over a half hour after being seated and the whole waitress apologized for apparently putting the order in late they were still there almost an hour. First experience at this location was terrible. Told my daughter our order wasn't there that she was at the wrong location. That's after showing them the receipt with the order and confirmation number. When she went back she was again told the order was not there. She asked to speak with Kara whom I spoke with on the phone. The host Alex said she can't come speak to you. Then they magically found our order. Alex then said you were wrong earlier and merry Christmas. Unbelievable. I called and spoke with the manager Crystal. I use the term manager loosely. She was worse than the staff. Service was slow. My husband ordered a mimosa and the waitress forgot the orange juice. He waited for about 15 minutes before getting a bus boy to get the juice. The waitress was nowhere to be found. We have had a good experience on a previous visit. I asked for dressing on my salad and the waitress said it was already on the salad and walked away. Take whatever wait time they promise and double it. We were told 30min to be seated. After 55min, we were finally seated. We waited 20min (a reasonable amount of time) for our food. When it arrived, the waffle on one plate was cold. Even if it were hot, it still wouldn't have been a good waffle. That said, the breakfast tacos and cheesy grits are very good. The service, however, was not. Our waitress never came back after giving us our food. We had to ask at the hostess station for them to pull up our receipt to pay. read more

About 4 weeks ago my family was at this first watch and waited 20 minutes for a server to take our order. It was not until after we spoke to the Host at the front, explained the situation. He went back to find our server and told us that they were in the middle of changing servers. We ended up staying and eating. However the service was poor and the food came out very haphazardly. No one checked on us to see if we needed anything along with no refills of coffee. Well we decided to try it again today. Same situation. This time I spoke to a manager. As all of the tables around me were taken care of, we were ignored. The hostess brought a high chair, could not operate the buckle. Stormed off so we had to figure out how to use it. After speaking with the manager, who was completely surprised that this happened. Offered to seat us in a different area. We declined, and went to another First Watch. This has always been our go to. We have been to this location numerous times without our children, however, when we do bring our children the service is terrible. My daughter and I had a wonderful breakfast together this morning and was overall very pleased with this new location as FW is one of our favorite breakfast joints. But, What truly stood out though was the kind act of their hostess. Right when we were leaving it started to rain, and the hostess came out with an umbrella and escorted us to our car so we wouldn't have to wait. A good restaurant is the food but a true quality, will come again, restaurant are the people who make the experience that much better. I would like to update my previous review. First, someone from First Watch reached out to me directly and offered to make things right and get more information. While o did not take them up on the offer, things have improved since my previous review. Togo orders have been turned on over the weekends, and I have not experienced any issues with service or food as of late. If you are in the area, I do recommend this first watch. My only remaining issue has to do with the app, specifically how the pickup time is displayed is not obvious, having to look at the first time after "ASAP" to get an estimate, or knowing to check your email. Unfortunately this isn't something that the restaurants control. Thank you to the kind representatives at First Watch for reaching out and your generous offer to make things right. The only thing I really wanted though was to see improvement in the areas I previously highlighted, and that has happened. read more
