We stopped going to the Knoxville - Turkey Creek location, because their service had gotten so slow and the staff had been rude to us on several occasions. We went for brunch. My wife and daughter got the morning wake up(drink) and it was delicious! We ordered the elevated egg sandwich, the breakfast tacos and the traditional breakfast. All of our food was fantastic! We also ordered a bowl of tomato basil soup that we all shared and it was so good. Our waitress, Hannah, did a great job of taking care of us. We waited almost 90 minutes to be sat as they were very busy. We got a coffee from Starbucks next door while we waited. read more

Liked the idea of locally grown fresh ingredients. Wasn't quite sure what to order and neither did our server when we asked for crowd favorites. I went to first watch last weekend with my family. I thought they had vegan options, but they were severely limited. I ended up getting a veggie burger for brunch. They were out of oat milk so I had to run next-door to Starbucks to get a latte. I noticed that the portions seemed large and most of my family ended up taking their food home. I've put off going here for three months now, as I figured that it would be overly expensive for a simple breakfast. That was my mistake! I really enjoyed everything about First Watch from the extraordinary foods to our super sweet waitress, Katelynne. We will definitely come back again. I don't like to give out five star reviews unless it is earned. It is my pleasure to say it's well deserved here. We ordered the Wild Truffle Mushroom Frittata and a Wild Salmon Eggs Benedict, plus an order of Million Dollar Bacon. Each was incredible and I'd gladly have the same again tomorrow. I've tried First Watch 4 times. My husband refuses to go with me because the service was poor the first two times we went there for breakfast. He did not care for the food or coffee. I think the food tasted good, and the ingredients seems fresh. However, they were skimpy on key ingredients which impacted the overall flavor of the dish. For example, the omelette I ordered barely had anything in it, so it was as if I'd ordered scrambled eggs with a sprinkling of veggies and cheese. If you're craving anything other than black coffee, get it and your espresso elsewhere. Lots of potential overall but somehow lacking. read more

As soon as you enter First Watch, the atmosphere welcomes you warmly. The menu was a little small, but this is really a brunch type place opened no later than 2:30. I had one of the hash bowls and was pleasantly surprised with its freshness and presentation. The food was brought to us quickly and was amazingly warm and filling. Our server, Jeremy, was very attentive and kind enough to laugh at any jokes we made. Plus he signed us up for emailed discounts so I received a BOGO entree coupon. My mom went earlier this week and food wasn't great but gave it a second try with us. All of our food was sub par. The avocados were brown. Cold brew was very bitter. Toast wasn't very toasted. Eggs weren't cooked well. The server was excellent and did the best he could. I'm sure in the setting of covid they are short staffed. Johnson City is growing up. Not so long ago, I would have said this restaurant was very good for Johnson City. Now, however, I drop that qualification. It's just plain good, and could be in any city in the world...and still be good. It's a nice place. The service is friendly and efficient...and very knowledgeable, and it is a great place to sit. I love Eggs Benedict, and have eaten them all over the world. My previous favorite place to eat them was in St Augustine (Ponce de Leon café)...but First Watch has pipped them at the post. The Eggs Benedict here are the best I have ever eaten. The wild mushroom frittata is excellent, the ricotta lemon pancakes are equally good and the Belgian waffle was the best. Light, crisp and fluffy inside. First Watch is not expensive and serves food which could compete on an international stage. I love this place and I expect it will very quickly become one of the busiest in Johnson City. PS. Is it just me, or are there other people in the world who have become sick of being asked to fill out surveys. First watch is a PITA about their blasted surveys. What a pleasant surprise when we found First Watch. the food, service and choices are pretty dang fabulous! Quality, well balanced, healthy choices and lots of them! Prices are very reasonable too. There are plenty of healthy choices as well as plenty of not-so-healthy choices here. I had the avocado toast and it looked like they slapped 2 whole avocados on the toast and the basted eggs were perfectly cooked. Our table also ordered biscuits and gravy, an omelette and the seasonal wholly donuts. Everything was great. What a great find in Johnson City! The menu is unique and the food is incredibly good. Fresh and changes daily. I can say that because liked it so much I went back the next day! Cute decor, great ambience. When they first opened, the service sucked. We stopped coming until recently, they seem to have the strong servers left with a few new ones now. I am glad the server who made us not come back for a while is gone now. All of the current servers are great, John is one of them who give 120% every time, even when he is not your server. Their coffee is good, I like how they give you the whole carafe but my new favorite beverage there is the Acai squeeze. It's not as tart as the Kale tonic and not as sweet as Morning Meditation. Eggs Benedict, chickichanga, the elevated egg sandwich, chicken avocado chop (salad) are always good, but I am not a huge fan of the avocado toast here. If you agree, try Tupelo Honey' s version. And during our visit today, I tried pesto chicken quinoa bowl... it's huge! And delicious. I never knew quinoa could pack so much flavor before. Our server was telling us that the chimichuri sauce is also really good if I wanted to substitute instead of the pesto, but since I LOVE anything basil, I kept the pesto and asked for the chimichuri in the side.
