The food here was insanely good. The service was magnificent, my waitress was extremely attentive with a very bright attitude and i would consider the service i received the best service i've ever gotten anywhere. The food was fast, and let me tell you, INCREDIBLE! The jalapeño burger was downright delicious, if you know a good burger you WILL be pleased. As for the tenderloin biscuit, one of the best biscuits to ever touch my tastebuds and the tenderloin was perfection! Nothing was dry and everything tasted fresh, everything tasted beyond my expectations. The ambiance was so comfortable, I felt at home. As soon as I walked in I knew my lunch would be a great experience from the setting alone. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, curly fries and side salad. My husband had country fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes and a side salad. The food was amazing. The burger was cooked perfectly with plenty of mushrooms. My husband really enjoyed his meal as well. The service was superb! The restaurant is older but still in great condition and clean. We had a fairly large group of seven people and a highchair to start off. Our server acted as though she didn't want to be waiting on us. Then she didn't get our order correct. Also my granddaughter wanted a special made pancake that they had done for her many times and it was delayed till almost after everybody else had finished eating their meal before she got her pancake, and we were told by the server that they had wait until they had time to do it. I eventually went to find server and tell her to make a regular pancake if it's that much of a problem and the owner asked me can I help you and I'm told her we are waiting for my granddaughters pancake and she acted like there was no problem here we will not be back. read more

Located behind a liquor stale and car wash, it's not hard to find but you drive through a long parking lot to get to them. I didn't notice any handicapped spaces out front but they may have been occupied. There were no signs on poles I could see. Parking is in two sections. Right in front of the entrance are a limited number of spaces. The much larger area is beside the building. If you park here, there are steps going down from the main lot. Off there are no spaces in front of the building you may need to drop of those with limited mobility. The interior is bright and open. There was a sign to seat yourself next to the cash register which is right in front as you walk in. Specials are listed on a small chalkboard on the right. There are lots of booths and tables witha large private room in the rear. The waitress came quickly and took our order promptly. The food came out quickly, but the waitress forgot silverware. It took two requests to get some. The table remained sticky even though it was wiped off per our request. The eggs cooked less than ordered but not bad. The biscuit was very good, although the gravy was only warm, not hot. The sausage patties were huge, very peppery and flavorful. This is fine for breakfast if you're close and it is one of the few spots in the area offering a full menu all day long. read more

Good family restaurant for home cooking style food. Hubby really like the corn meal breaded catfish and I really liked the pan fried chicken. Two big chicken breasts so I have some for tomorrow's lunch! I highly recommend the hush puppies (which I stole from hubby's plate!). They only get three stars from me because my daughter was wanting biscuits and gravy, so I called a head and asked if biscuits and gravy were available (it was about 6:00 pm). I was told "yes". This is a wonderful, albeit, humble (meaning not fancy) place to have a good, close to home-cooked meal. Not a "trendy" type of place, but very relaxing with lots of comfort (from both the ample menu and the staff). The food was excellent, the salads were very fresh, and the staff was very kind, courteous, and accommodating to our requests. After telling an employee that I had lived in Erwin for a little over 6 months and that I had no idea that their restaurant was so close to my home or even existed before seeing it on Yelp, she informed me that other people who have lived in Erwin for even longer than me also did not know the restaurant was there. Agree with others on service...lots of employees, not very efficient. Was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon and maybe a lot of customers came in at once, but I think there were enough employees to cover it better. Food was decent, but certainly not home cooking I'd expect in a county diner. The steak and gravy steak was out of the freezer...not country cubed steak. Gravy was average. Potato salad is mustard/relish based, with eggs...fine for me, but a lot of folks wouldn't like. Mac and cheese isn't homemade. Wife had steak and cheese sandwich, said it was good. Daughter had a bacon cheeseburger...it looked good, she wouldn't share...and there was none left, so must have been. read more

Yumm, good chicken. Call ahead of time with your order and they will have it ready for you (to go or to eat in). Takes a while to prepare, because of the way they make it . Good sides. Very southern. It's kind of a neon-lit lunchroom. No pretenses, straight country. Ample parking. read more

While waiting the waitress pulled the runner away from the door and started to sweep it...directly towards our table from about 4 feet away. Asked her not to do that, nicely. She stopped. 5 minutes later the ?owners 8 year old daughter started sweeping...towards our table. Asked him and the cashier if she could not sweep towards our table. He got defensive. Asked how much we owed for the couple of bites of food we ate. He said, "don't owe anything we don't need ya" Food isn't good enough for me to deal with anybodys attitude. Disgusting, if you make the mistake of ordering your food to go they will put it in a styro box that will be melted by whatever was hot or fried, I have went several times to have my fries melted into the styro box, well lastnight I made the worse mistake of buying my 5 year old some pop corn chicken, I didn't know until the next day after her stomach was killing her that her chicken had melted though most of the bottom of the box. The health department really should look into these people and I will also file a complaint with them about this to, it's outright poisonous. So I call up and ask to speak with a manager (I THINK he said his name was Luke, I could be wrong) (12.17.2015 @ 2:52PM) and to complain and he wanted to give me another order of chicken, not even an apology, I told him forget it we won't eat there again that for the order of chicken I would just rather leave this review to warn others to not waste their money there if they want clean toxic free food. Atleast Clarance's bothers to put paper down in their styro boxes, maple grove is far to cheap for that. So maple grove I hope you guys enjoy the last dollar you get from me. read more
