I would give this a negative 5 if that was an option. The manager, Ashley/Ashlynn, has to be the world's worst manager. My teen daughter placed a breakfast order for our family on Mother's Day. The order was to be ready for pick up at 11:15am. She arrived on time, tells them she's there, confirms the order. An hour later they tell her somebody else took her order, and they would remake it immediately. My teenager did not want any confrontation, so she asked us to call the restaurant. Called over twenty times, not even exaggerating. No answer. Got someone in the central location to answer and the Carothers store would not take their calls either. I insisted my daughter grab a manager, when we were cursed with Ashley/Ashlynn!! Absolutely awful manager!!! Keep in mind this is Mother's Day and she and her staff lying to my child are keeping my daughter away from me on Mother's Day!! Ash said the mistakes were "not her fault" and her staff not handling the situation were "not her fault", and offered no help, actually hanging up the phone and walking away. Obviously, I'm livid!! She comes up with some lame excuse that the order didn't process, even though it confirmed and gave a pickup time on our end. I finally got her back on the phone, she, acting like a dictator who has no tolerance for unhappy customers, demanding she be spoken with in a certain tone. They screwed up, making my daughter stand there for over two hours! Ash then said "it is my business and I'll handle it the way i see fit" and disappeared again. My daughter still standing there hoping she was preparing our food. I have never wished ill will on a business, but this one is completely out of line, and Ash is in the WRONG PROFESSION!!! She needs intensive training in customer service, as she has NONE! I don't care what the excuse is, they knew they had a customer waiting for over two hours, and they just let it slide. What a crock!! I fear what they will have done to the food at this point, which is scary. Never again will this First Watch on Carothers get our business, and we WILL SPREAD THE WORD! Ash, you are incorrigible, and you should be ashamed. If you are ever Blessed with a teen daughter who takes it upon herself to treat her mother(and family) to breakfast on Mother's Day, may you remember how you treated my daughter on this day. Shame on you!! In the end, the slop that she gave my daughter was wrong, including bacon in my vegetarian's meal, regular bread instead of gluten free, cheese grits instead of buttered (horrible by the way), bacon undercooked, incorrectly cooked eggs! Wow! One family member was happy with his pancake. What a joke. Never in my life. Shocking. I cannot express how poor this experience has been. We will spread the word. read more

Lived here for 15 years - One of the worst dining experiences in the area, we walked out! I've never had to walk out like this. We had a short wait at the hostess stand, 1-2 minutes. A couple parties were sat before us. Our family of 6 was seated, and we proceeded to wait for 15 minutes without anyone coming by, or even an acknowledgement to flag down a server. Three tables around ours, had servers come by for drinks and food orders, and one table sat 30 seconds before us got their food as we packed up the 3 kids and infant to head out. read more

We were very impressed with the rustic decor. It's very comfortable and contemporary. Rick was our server and he spot on. He brought out a pot of fresh coffee, took our order and then brought a quart of water. Our food arrived in a very timely manner and the presentation was amazing. I indulged in the market hash with sunny side eggs and a side of butternut squash soup. The market hash was all veggies and potatoes so it was super hearty but delicious. I couldn't finish my own meal! The butternut squash soup was topped with a cream cheese swirl and cilantro. It tasted great and was perfect for the fall. The bread was nice and toasted without a heavy butter spread. The boyfriend got a seasonal item which was the pumpkin pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs and apple smoked turkey sausage. The pancakes were pretty good, but the sausage was the winner. The coffee canister is definitely helpful so we don't have to keep bothering the waitress for refills. Service was prompt and friendly. Then nearly another 10 minutes until a server got to us and ask for drinks and food, food came out 20-ish minutes later, I'll be nice and say it was just the day they're having but afterwards we never received a receipt and sat there for 10 more minutes before we had to go to the front desk and say what we got, pay then leave. The customer service at this location definitely pushed this from a four star to a five star review. Our waitress was so nice that by the end of our meal she felt like a good friend of the family. It was a lot less crowded here than I would expect for a Sunday morning Easter brunch but that was perfectly alright since we got seated right away. They had great coffee and a couple of fresh juices (like a kale tonic) which sounded great as well. My fiancé and I split the florentine Benedict and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were absolutely amazing. Per the suggestions of our waitress we tried them sans syrup and were not disappointed. The lemon curd was excellent. The Benedict was great as well. The bread was a little bit harder than I would prefer- it requires a steak knife to cut through- but the overall flavor was really good. I noticed this place on the way to work one morning. It is right across the street from our apartment complex. I couldn't wait to try it so my husband and I walked over Saturday morning to check it out. We were welcomed at the door. The staff here was so friendly. It was as if they couldn't wait to take care of you. It was a very pleasant breakfast dining experience. There were so many great menu choices and a lot of really healthy options. I could have picked something with less calories but I was in the mood for breakfast potatoes. I ordered the bacon and egg hash which was seasoned potatoes with bacon and onion and avocado with two eggs on top. It was served with a cup of fruit and multigrain bread with strawberry preserves. I don't even know where to begin. Before leaving Franklin, this was our last spot. Boyfriend and I were both super hungry. We walked in to a pretty empty cafe and immediately sat down. Even before I looked at the menu, I noticed their special of the day was Avocado toast. Done. They have a very extensive and broad variety menu including brunch and lunch. We ordered the following: 1. Iced Coffee - perfect blend of a milk and coffee resulting in a not-syrup-sweet-but-not-bitter taste 2. Day Glow - refreshing blend of citrus, ginger and carrot. I was a bit wary at first in terms of ordering this because I am not a huge fan of carrot but you can barely taste it. 3. Avocado Toast - this is not the first place I've had it but it doesn't matter. I loved the thick wheat bread with chunky avocado. Make sure you squeeze the lemon on top. 4. Baja Turkey Burger - Get a juicy turkey burger is an art because turkey can dry out quickly but they nailed it. Along with the Havarti cheese, there was enough flavor that you forgot you weren't eating beef but having turkey instead. 5. Vegetarian Burger - this was probably the winner of the day. It was an interesting blend of brown rice and vegetables made into a patty. The texture was not like the usual grainy vegetable party but juicy instead. After our meal, we had to take a second to absorb the amazing food we had. It makes me sad that we don't have something similar in Houston but it is a definite must-eat spot. read more

After 2 visits to this location, I'm happy to give a 4 star review. I came by last weekend and didn't have the best opinion, but after visiting again today, they've gained some good points. One thing that was consistent both times was the flavor and quality of food. I had the Powerbowl and the standard breakfast and both were just as satisfying as I would've hoped. What I love about this place is the commitment to quality ingredients and healthy food options for breakfast and brunch. They make fresh juices and have seasonal food choices. What I missed both times was customer service. The server took our order and delivered our food and that was all we ever saw of them. Unfortunately it was a huge let down this time. There was one very small piece of kale, 3 roasted tomatoes, and the tiniest drizzle of pesto sauce ...maybe a teaspoon at most. So sadly it was pretty much just grilled chicken and quinoa. The locations in Brentwood have always been great, so I'll stick to those from now on. read more

I went to this location on Nov. 2nd..and had to wait for my order for over an hour past time to be ready for pickup on the table to the right when you walk in. I asked the host..over and over again the time available for my order to be ready. The redheaded host would just casually walk to the back and then casually walk to me saying just a little bit longer...no exact time. This was for my team at work and this was causing me to be late. I then asked for a refund...the host walked back again and then walked back to me and said a little bit longer. Once my order was finally brought to me by the manager...she said sorry and gave me a $20 gift card. I thanked her. I swore to not return to this location since. However, I was going to do something nice for my team again this morning. Little did I know...this gift card won't be entered in the website as part of payment. When reading the fine print...it says dine in only. Why is this not communicated to me in the first place. Horrible experience all around. The breakfast options are so good. My favorites would have to be Floridian French Toast: the fresh fruits make it for me Bacado Omelet: Bacon and Avocado! Need I say more? Frittata Rustica: For this one I add the Italian Sausage. Great combination of fresh vegetables and added meat protein in case you may have a long morning before your next meal. Last time I went, I decided to try a season item - the Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash, which is the first thing I've ever been disappointed in here. It sure looked pretty but once I got into it all I really got was potatoes. The description is "Two cage-free eggs any style atop fresh seasoned potatoes, house-roasted summer sweet corn, chorizo and scallions. Topped with fresh sliced avocado, Cotija cheese, chipotle crema and fresh cilantro. Served with warm wheat-corn tortillas and fresh lime." But, potatoes. So much potato. Service is consistently good. LOVE this location. We've been to First Watch many times, and enjoyed them all, but this location is a former Egg and I, and it's so cute. Our normal location had a 15 minute wait just 1.5 miles away, this location had no wait at all. It's also more rustic, homey, looking which I enjoy. Had a great frittatta (however you spell that) and hubby had French toast. The French toast comes with a berry compote that was amazing, and when I told our server that, she brought us out two little to go cups of it so we could enjoy the next morning at home with biscuits. Yum! I don't remember our servers name, but in addition to the compote surprise she was just awesome in general, telling us about the previous tenant there and corporate philosophy, etc. - much more detail than one would expect from a server. My husband and I are frequent customers to this First Watch location and have always had good customer service and good food, this is why we return. However, today was another story. Would like management to be aware that we sat at our table for over 15 mins without a server coming to wait on us or acknowledge that maybe you were short staffed or etc etc... and they would be waiting on us ASAP...nope! We ended up walking out. There were 3 other tables next to us with the same scenario. Good management would not seat more customers than you can wait on. Disappointing!!! read more

The decaf coffee was excellent and my breakfast burrito was spectacular, My wife enjoyed her Belgian waffle, but said that it got cold quickly. Maybe it could be served on a hot plate? General Review-Food aside: Summery: Service sucks! Table was dirty, with cups and stuff from previous party. Had to ask the waitress to tidy table up, which was sure tidy but a little dirty after that too. had to ask for it to be wiped and it was with very soaking napkins that left the table very wet! had to get up to the bathroom and get some napkins to dry it out. yes, there are no napkins at the table. Getting to order drinks took 5 minutes and that's okay but had to wait another 10 minutes to order food.
