I saw a sign in St. Louis saying they had the breakfast, but haven't had a chance to try it since now. We walked in and everyone was super friendly. We were seated right away. Our good also came out quickly. The iced coffee was great, too much ice, but all places do that. I had the fruit crepes, a little dry, but I ordered it off the healthy conscious menu, so should have known. The lemon poppy seed muffin was fabulous though. My husband had the killer Cajun with avocado, it was super good. My little ones shared a chocolate chip pancake, so obviously no complaints there. We didn't wait as long as the line looked. They were very friendly. I liked that you can order while you wait so your food comes to the table shortly after you are seated. The breakfast food was very good. The seasoned potatoes were tasty. The sausage and bacon were done perfect. My mom actually works here, so I get to eat the food quite often. I love the egg white omelettes, and don't even get me started on that Santa Fe sauce! Just moved here a couple weeks ago and this is the first restaurant I hit here in Dayton.....the morning after driving in. This place is awesome. I had the avocado toast and WOW....that stuff rocks! The ingredients were fresh, seasoning was spot on, service and staff was great, an overall awesome experience. I went there by myself and sat at the community table. Really cool idea and I met some locals that gave me some great scoop on things to do in the area. I've been back twice since then and I can't wait to bring my family when they get here next week. Visiting Dayton and looked on Yelp for a decent breakfast place. First watch had excellent reviews so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed! Food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I had the Bacado (bacon, avocado and cheese omelet) and it was so fresh and filling. The fresh fruit cup was exceptional as well! Lots of grapes, watermelon, honeydew and pineapple as opposed to the usual restaurant fruit cup loaded with gross cantaloupe. So, first things first....food was delicious. Debated on 3 or 4 stars because of service. Had to wait 40 minutes for our food. They were turning tables quickly. Family of 4 was seated 10 minutes after us (group of 3) and had their food before 10 minutes before us. Hostess was sweet, server was adequate...maybe a little less than. I always expect a wait when I go for breakfast on a Sunday but 40 minutes is excessive; especially when you see multiple tables eating before you. No need to go back because there are plenty of great breakfast/brunch places in the Fairborn/Dayton area that have great food AND great service. Oh! They do have vegan/vegetarian options so that's cool....and you can have free coffee while you wait...just wish the service didn't suck so bad. read more

This place is always packed so that tells you something. I've been twice and its a solid four both times. The breakfast sandwich was great and the seasonal skillet was very tasty. Only thing wrong with the skillet was I ordered my egg over medium and it came out well undercooked. Had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict this morning. Simply fantastic. Served with fresh greens dressed in a lemon vinaigrette that paired very well with the hollandaise. Many places are light on the salmon, but not here. I'm a first time diner at First Watch. Wanted to try FW for a long time, just couldn't beat the crowd. I must say, I have been missing out. I walked in at 7:05, second person into the restaurant. The hostess/server Candace was extremely polite and didn't rush me. I knew what I wanted to try, the pumpkin pancake breakfast. Order placed, and a little less than 5 minutes it seemed breakfast was in front of me. Candace asked me if the English muffins were overdone and I said they were fine. The two scrambled eggs were absolutely devine. I can't remember last time I had eggs at a restaurant this good. The sausage had an interesting flavor and it was great. Now, the pumpkin pancake. It was so tasty that I refused to put any syrup on it. They should keep this meal on the menu all year round, if it is not. I am very impressed, I knew I would be. Good breakfast. Arrived Sat morning and it was already packed and busy. I was able to be seated quickly, and only waited a few minutes for the waitress. I placed my order, the traditional breakfast, and ordered water and hot tea. Hot tea was the brand Bigelow, a small selection but was good. Water came in a larger vase so plenty of water. I didn't wait long and my food arrived. Two eggs over medium, perfectly cooked. My turkey sausage was just done. I prefer it more well cooked and brown but that's a personal opinion. The artisan bread was delicious, and the jam quite tasty. The potatoes, although tasty, were not cooked long enough and some were only partially cooked and hard, and very few crispy. I expect some of this due to the crowded restaurant. I was disappointed in the smaller portion size but larger price. Overall I gave it four stars. read more
