First watch is normally great. The food is good but the service is horrible. A few weeks ago I sat in the patio. 3 different waitresses were taking care of the patio. My waitress walked by me 3 times and never came to my table. 15 minutes later she showed up and said she never saw me. I went last week and a couple was seated right after me. The waitress took their order right away. Someone took my order and brought my tea. She never came back. I sat there for 30-40 minutes, I saw 6 more tables come in, order and get food. My food never came and neither did my waitress. I got up and left. It is a nice location but not worth it. read more

Ordered drinks and Gingerbread donuts specifying we wanted to start with those. Then ordered entrees. Sometime later they started bringing entrees...with no donuts or drinks! Who serves entrees without drinks? I ordered my eggs cooked hard. The whites were runny, and I sent it back. Then got cooked eggs and half cooked potatoes. On Sat 1/24/26 we arrived at 9:00am. It was busy a couple of tables open, we got seated promptly. The service was good and prompt for that area. We ordered and had the usual wait time for the food. My wife ordered eggs benedict with the roasted potatoes. Her potatoes was cold and she informed the waiter. He did offer her a new batch, she did not take him up. Her eggs benedict was like a soft ball eggs, no running yolks and te eggs were cool. I order the traditional breakfast, eggs over easy, bacon crispy, and grits. The bacon completely fell apart and was flaky (I will know next time not to order this way). The toast was black on one side. The eggs was cooked as order, however, they were cold seemed like they were cooked first. The grits was really good and hot. That day First Watch was not playing their "A" game. I don't know if it was due to them being busy or they was just off in the kitchen. We will go back, but they aren't as good as they were. But you need to give them another chance. read more

Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. This is a breakfast lunch spot so the hours are limited to closing at 2:30p. Lots of healthier but still delicious options! Fresh juices and coffee options. I opted for their iced coffee which is prepared for you with sugar and cream. It was the perfect blend and ice cold! Side note: they use the more eco friendly straws I've been craving a Culver's Tuna melt but sadly they don't seem to make those anymore. And on this menu I saw a chicken salad melt! I always say order what "speaks to you" off the menu! This totally hit the spot. Whole grain toast, chicken salad(with apples and raisins), fresh tomato and melted cheese on top. Tomato soup was nice and flavorful. To compare it to Panera's tomato soup which I think tastes like spaghetti sauce(don't get me wrong I love that soup) this one is more of a traditional tomato soup with nice little chicken chunks of tomatoes. Visiting from the nation's capital, I went to celebrate my daughter's upcoming departure for university and my nephew's relocation for a new (very important) job in Ohio, for brunch at FW, 5245 Cornerstone North Blvd Dayton, OH 45440. There was a blatant incidence of racial profiling during our visit, when I witnessed unidentified officer, who suddenly show up and were stationed outside the restaurant facing our table, and their focus on our family was horrifying, beyond repulsive, and inappropriate, disgust and foul. The food overall was terrible and couldn't be finished/eaten because of the excessive amount of salt, the waiter's urgent/prompt delivery of our check was appalling and made us rush to finish our meal/brunch. Although some of the other meals were (just) OK, the whole service was felt rushed---despite the fact the restaurant wast not crowded. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER dine at another FW when I travel; the discriminating attitude I experienced from the manager and the management at this location was horrific. TO THE OWNER of OH FW: I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT Discrimination is illegal!!!! If there are specific people you wish to service only, post a notice, SEE HOW THAT WORKS FOR YOU!! What this local has done is horrible in this day and age. Furthermore, your restaurant is basically fast food, not a four-star establishment. Please train your employees (better) and to know that your restaurant is basic--- a low-cost, fried, trans-fat, gloried fast food, business and NOT out of reach (money-wise) for MOST people. I love this place. The food is always so good and makes you feel good. It's fresh and natural yet hearty. My favorites are the Farmhouse Hash, any of the pancakes, the seasonal Hash, and the breakfast tacos. The customer service is always excellent. The wait staff makes you feel welcome, are friendly, and keep your drinks filled. The restaurant is also very clean. I would give this location/restaurant more than 5 stars if I could. read more

I used to love this place. I don't understand, there's no one in here. My omelet sat till it was cold...I asked for extra cheese and mushrooms and got a cold omelet that had barely anything inside. I sent it back and they bring out a hot BURNED omelet and my toast is soggy. At this point, I am really upset that people cannot do things correctly. Apparently, they forgot how to cook. I had the Healthy Turkey which was a delicious egg white omelette, the waffles are delicious as well (they are light and airy), additionally you can't leave with out trying their compote and bread. I really like all first watch locations, but this one is by far my favorite! It's generally new, so you can except to see more people, but usually the wait isn't awful unless you going during a brunch rush or a Sunday. The decor is very nice and rustic, and the food is delicious! I recommend the Farmstand Breakfast Tacos and the AM Superfood Bowl with chia seed pudding, they are both super flavorful and yummy. Also, I recommend their juice bar drinks, they have seasonal ones every few months. If you want a good breakfast, brunch or lunch First Watch is a good place to go. read more

Highly recommend this location again. --- While First Watch is typically one of my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurants, today it did not meet expectations. After being seated, it took over 15 mins to get water and order the menu. From order to receipt of food took in excess of 30 minutes. Food arrived cold. We asked for the manager and he didn't show much interest or concern. We asked for new, warm food and that took 15 mins more. Waitress was hard to find and service was just not good. read more
