Multigrain Pancake

I've always had a good experience at First Watch. I would highly recommend checking in online ahead of time, especially if you plan on going on the weekend. It can be expensive, but everything has always been very fresh and high quality. The pancakes are HUGE and absolutely delicious. Additionally, their fruit is very fresh. I've always had good and fast service, especially considering how busy it is. The only thing I'm not the biggest fan of is their coffee. Overall, First Watch is a great staple brunch place, as long as you check in ahead of time or have time to wait!

Brooklyn Breakfast sandwich

Our recent brunch here was pretty good! We were seated right away and had a drink order taken immediately. It did take a very long time to get drinks. I ordered a decaf coffee and that seemed to throw things off for them. I kept being told that they had to brew a fresh pot and it "would be right out". I ordered the Brooklyn Breakfast Sandwich and my daughter ordered the Trifecta. My sandwich was delicious! Pastrami, egg, cheese, and pickled onions - it was so good and so messy. Seriously, a very messy sandwich. But worth it! My daughter's brunch was a bit disappointing. One little scrambled egg and one sausage link with a large waffle. Very little protein for the price of the entree. The service was good - although we had no clue who our server was. We were sat by a host. Someone took our drink order. Someone else took our order. And so on, and so on. Kind of disjointed service that could use some improvement.

Stellar takeout experience. My order was hot and ready as soon as I arrived. The dishes appeared exactly as I would've expected had I dined in the restaurant. I appreciated that they separated the pancakes from the eggs and bacon even though it was all part of the Trifecta dish. I have been hesitant to get brunch food as takeout before, but I would do this again.

One of my favorite breakfast/ brunch locations. Such a good menu- plenty of options. All the food is great- seems super fresh and has that "home-made" yet chef level quality. Really good take out system too- don't have to wait long if at all.

Was craving the chicken salad melt to find out it is no longer on the menu. Bummer! :( The waitress surprisingly provided me with the recipe!

Never been... so something new to try!?

I've never been to a First Watch but the lovely Mrs had so she suggested. Quite pleased actually! Service was amazing. Place is super clean. The food was pretty darn tasty and lots of it!? The jam and toast were my favorite part of the omelette. Yep. I know. It's just that I hadn't had toast in forever and the jam was super tasty! The Mrs ordered a club sandwich that was a little dry but it tasted good. My omelette was super warm and incredibly filling. I'd for sure go back. If nothing else, I'd go back for the service and there is so many twitter things I'd like to try. Such nice people and this was toward the end of their day so you know they've are prolly wore out.

Breakfast this morning with my husband. Not as busy when we first arrived since it had been storming earlier. Service was great and so was the food. Was nice inside with music low enough to be able to talk comfortably. My husband had the summer breakfast quesadilla and I had the oatmeal. Lots of coffee and water too! I love eating here and come often with family.

Delicious and surprising food combinations. Fresh and tasty They always have something new, like chai latte pancakes, and beet toast with avocado. It's hard to decide what to try. My sandwich was delicious, served on a Parmesan crusted sourdough bread with a horseradish dipping sauce. It had sun dried tomatoes inside and a zesty arugula. It was delicious. Only drawback was the noise level. It is almost always crowded but service is very quick.

First Watch is usually one of my favorite locations, but this visit wasn't so great. But, the junky service was made up by the always excellent food. I love the Farmhouse skillet and could it eat everyday. This was was just as good as usual, with nice ripe avocado and just the right amount of tomato and bacon. I'm also going to miss the seasonal Cinnamon Chip pancake, but I'm hoping it will be back soon, so I can grab another. If you see it on the specials menu, be sure to snatch it up, because you will not be upset by the excellent taste!

Pro tip - join their waitlist on their website! I know they can have a bit of a wait, so I hopped online and joined the waitlist while my friend was driving us there. The food was great! Our server was a little busy since so many people was there, but I've been there multiple times and never had a bad experience.

I would rate First Watch as just okay. Although I am a huge fan of brunch - your bill adds up quickly here. The food is fine and delicious, but it's pretty high for what it is. For example, an egg omelet with a side of basic greens was about $12-15. I can make that at home for less than $5. Again, it just depends on what you are in the mood for and if you are going to brunch for the social aspect vs. what you can make at home for a lesser price. If you're trying to save money, see if you can make it at home! My salad with greens, carrots and chicken was good - but there wasn't much chicken. When you are spending about $13+, you want to walk away pretty filled. It was good, but I was still hungry. I added a muffin on the side to help fill me up. The place was packed for a Sunday around noon. We were quoted about 20 minutes, but it ended up being around 30 minutes. It wasn't a problem - just a long wait in a crowded waiting area. The restaurant is pretty intimate, as they don't have a lot of privacy. We had a conversation with the couple sitting next to us, as they were within a foot away. They could hear us talking, as we could hear their conversation. If you're looking for a place to work on a laptop and write a paper or have an intimate conversation with someone, I would choose another place due to space and wait time. Overall, you can't go wrong with brunch!

Can't recommend Mollys enough if you are looking for a great place to hangout with friends and watch a game or two.

We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

The food is outstanding across the board--from the steaks to the cheese sticks--but the real star is their bread pudding. It's absolutely worth the trip from anywhere in the tri-state area. Parking is also easy and convenient, with a garage right across the street, as well as their own lot and additional street parking. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great meal and an even better experience.

Both were friendly & acknowledged the birthday girl in our party. Atmosphere is great. You could comfortably walk in wearing jeans or come dressed up. Neither would be over or under dressed. The menu has juuuust the right amount of options, which is great! Heather was our waitress & while she was kind, her service skills were lacking. Granted we weren't at a Michelin Star Restaurant, but we also weren't at a dive bar. There was an endless amount of awkward reaching through, over & around when refilling drinks. There were a couple of instances where she actually touched our shoulders to nudge us to the side so she could reach through. Totally not okay during service at a restaurant nicer than a dive bar. We ordered the cheese sticks starter which were so yummy! Highly recommend! A couple of us ordered the Cesar side salad & were highly disappointed. The dressing tasted like it was mayonnaise heavy & then watered down by lettuce that wasn't dried after being rinsed. Even adding tons of extra pepper didn't help. The lettuce also tasted like it has been too wet for too long. The lobster mac was ordered in the group & it was tasty but soooo greasy. So, order with caution. We had the Black N Bleu salad in the group & that was good. The Atlantic Salmon was another dinner ordered & the crust seasoning was delicious! Sadly, the salmon was a bit overdone. It does come with a lobster cream sauce, which confused me. It was only so so & I definitely skipped it entirely. The steamed broccoli was done to perfection though. Not soggy & not too crunchy. We also had the 12oz ribeye & that was great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly! I will add though, that the steak knives need an upgrade. I really wanted to love this place, but we won't return on our next trip to Newport/Cincinnati.

After seeing my niece graduate from college, our entire family and guests, all eight of us,…read moredescended on Coppin's restaurant for brunch. Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.
