First Watch is like a better version of I Hop or Denny's! I love how homey it felt dining there for brunch and I really wished I got the name of the waitress helping out my family and I. She helped us check if we could have my nephew's plate modified and make a non-vegetarian side into a vegetarian one for my cousin. I thought that was very sweet! The ol' traditional waffle, eggs, and sausage was a perfect way to start my day, and I really liked how crispy the waffle was! The berry jam or compote was a nice addition to eat my waffle with, on top of their warm syrup. My cousin got the avocado toast, while my niece got her grilled cheese and apple juice, and my nephew got his ginormous chocolate chip pancake!!! He was super happy with the pancake, while my niece wasn't used to the crispness and grilled cheese being melted and toasted so fancily. I guess kids just prefer the Krafts sliced grilled cheese sandwich. She was pretty content with her Apple juice though! Very disappointing experience. We arrived around 9:30am on a Saturday. The restaurant was around 25% capacity, so it wasn't busy by any means. It took ten minutes for our server to come back with an iced coffee, and we had been sitting there for twenty minutes before she took our order. A little odd, especially for a restaurant that really wasn't that busy, but whatever. The eggs Benedicts (we got the same thing) arrived cold, unseasoned, and improperly cooked. Not only were both of our eggs broken, the yolk and hollandaise sauce leaked all over my plate and soaked the mixed greens. My boyfriend didn't even get dressing for his mixed greens, he was served straight up raw arugula. For some reason the "chef" and server thought this was ok to give to a customer. Not to mention it took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered for our food to get to us. I didn't say anything because I hate sending food back and looking like a Karen but this was such a disappointing experience. Our server was nice but she was clearly very frazzled and inattentive. The host also cut me off when we were leaving, literally turned around to look at me afterwards, didn't apologize, and then stared at us without saying a word when we left. Very odd behavior. I haven't been to a first watch in years but I decided to treat my daughter before her first day of school. There were few other patrons at 8am on a weekday which was so nice. Service was quick and attentive and we both throughly enjoyed our breakfasts. My daughter got a massive pancake with bacon and ate very last bite. I got eggs, sausage, and a pancake as well. My family and I visited First Watch for lunch on a Saturday in the early afternoon. There was just a five minute wait before we were seated at a spacious table and provided with menus. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict, my mom and brother got the BLT benedict, and my dad had the roast beef sandwich and kale salad. When the food was first brought out, we didn't have any utensils for a couple minutes and my benedict came out later than everyone else's. When I cut into the eggs of the benedict, I immediately noticed that something was wrong. Two of the eggs were very overcooked to the point that they were hard boiled instead of poached. There was a questionable third egg that was correctly poached. The portion sizes were also questionable small and looked sparse on the plate compared to other locations. As I dislike the texture of hard boiled eggs, my mom kindly gave me her BLT benedict which was satisfactory. She noted that her dish along with everyone else's seemed very oily and my dad said his sandwich was salty. I informed the waitress of the egg situation and she said she would inform the kitchen. It's the warmth and the kindness of Jessica Hines a hostess at First Watch that made my morning! She went out of her way after a package of mine broke a bottle of hot sauce as I was going to my table. She told me not to move since she thought a shard of glass was in my shoe. She got me a chair so I could sit and check my shoe for glass and she cleaned up the huge mess I made with a smiling face. The warmth of her smile made me feel so much better. She was so caring about me, beyond lovely! I told her manager this girl deserves a promotion! Her manager was extremely caring too. Kudos to Jessica for going above and beyond! I had heard such great things, but really wasn't very impressed. It took about ten minutes to get our drink order, then the drink machine was not working. When we got our food, they did not have silverware. When we asked for silverware, they came back minutes later saying that they did not have any rolled silverware or clean spoons available. Very interesting, fancy menu if you're in the mood for that. Don't expect traditional breakfast dishes. Taste was excellent. Portions fair. I had a biscuit with sausage gravy with home fries. Amount of gravy was chintzy as was the portion of potatoes plus a lot were little crunchy bits. I feel like we were getting the last of the premade breakfast dishes. One thing that really bugged me was we asked for milk with our coffee instead of the little plastic cups of commercial creamer. The waitress forgot our request and when we reminder her, she brought a cup of milk for which she add $3.25 to the bill! We had breakfast there. I had the Italian hash skillet, my wife had eggs Benedict. First, the service was fine, the surroundings were good except the women's restroom was not clean. The food was the main problem. The Italian hash was described as containing some flavorful items, and some were there but they were drowned in a sea of flavorless potatoes. Lots of potatoes. During the pandemic I went here before an appointment I had later. I had a great experience! I got a little table away from others, as is the rule, and then a whole carafe of coffee and also one of water that I asked for. I had been to this store in another location, but their seasonal menu surprised me and I did have to go for the carnitas omelet and it really hit the spot on my empty stomach.
