First watch is great but not impressed with this location. I am from FL and have dined at First Watch for years and was excited when the Canton location opened. Seating is limited and it always takes a very long time to get a table even with joining the watchlist ahead, appears to be understaffed. Same great food, just not the same level of service you get at the locations in FL. read more

Have been to both of them , Canton and Livonia. While the service was excellent, their ability to expedite orders is sorely lacking. The one in Livonia brought out my wife and I our order and hers was piping hot , while mine was lukewarm at best. I took one bite and told the waitress to remove the plate. She asked if they could redo my order, I said no as I had waited almost forty minutes for the original plate and my wife was halfway through her meal. The manager offered to take 20% off of a meal I never touched ??!! Next time was Canton, and my meal again came out cold and over easy eggs were over hard, and my biscuit gravy was cold. This time they remade my order, they got the eggs right but all they did to the gravy was add water and microwave it. Again both times the service was exceptional but expediting was terrible. I would like to be able to recommend them but I cannot. Service five stars, ambiance five stars , and food prep and expediting gets one star. read more

Driving by the Canton location and decided to stop by because my grand baby wanted breakfast. I thought it would be better than McDonalds. Nice decor. Plenty of parking. Ordered a Trifecta which she liked. I also order a chickichanga. Not sure who was in the kitchen but they left out ingredients especially the cheese. Very disappointing especially when you order a carry out and get home to find out the entree was not properly made. I don't think I would go again. read more

Eek they won't make it if they can't step it up. There's a lot to be learned here. Told it would be a half hour for a table even though there were several clean tables as well as a couple that hadn't been bussed yet and no one waiting and all of the outside tables were empty. We set our watches and came back only to find the same situation. Another 25 minutes "maybe, the kitchen can't seem to catch up." Really? Looks to me like the front of the house can't catch up either. Tables still haven't been bussed, no one is waiting and we aren't offered a seat nor even a cup of coffee. We realize that this place just opened but evidently there isn't a manager on site and/or there hasn't been proper training. And to think we had given it a few days to get thru the rough spots. read more

Horrible service! Made reservations on the app. Was told a table of five would be available at 11:28 and we would be seated by 11:33. Arrived to the restaurant and was told by the manager Justin that the app is misleading and we would be put on a waitlist. Basically the app is useless and misleading. Tells you a table is available and you will be seated at a certain time. When you get to the restaurant they don't even follow anything the app tells you. The app misleads just to get you to the restaurant and then they tell you you have to wait based on their physical waitlist. Went to Jonny Cakes instead, excellent service there! read more

They didn't believe in turning the heat on cuz it was only 50 degrees outside. It was freezing and the place was dirty, especially the bathrooms. We waited almost an hour for some sandwiches and salads that came out cold and soggy. The only saving grace was the awesome waitress we had. Def won't be returning for an overpriced cold sandwich, would rather go to the McDonald's in the same parking lot and save myself $50. read more

This is the second time I've had an issue with First Watch in Canton. It's not the food that's bad, it's the service! The first time I went in there to pick up my carry out, it was for a specific time. However, my food wasn't ready at that time. I understand the restaurant business can be stressful, so I waited patiently for my food. After 20 minutes of waiting, walking back and forth from my car to inside the restaurant, the manager finally asked for my name so he could check my order. I thought it was pretty nice of him, at first. He came out and told me it'll be ready in 5 minutes. I thought, okay, no big deal and continued waiting. I went back to my car for another 5-10 minutes (gave them a few extra minutes). I walked back in and my food still wasn't ready. I stayed inside for another 10 minutes. The manager came up to me again and finally asked what I ordered and insisted in seeing my receipt. He went back into the kitchen and then comes out and confirms to me that the food was never cooked! Um...?? Didn't he JUST check for me 15 minutes ago and tell me my food would be ready in 5 minutes? I received little to no empathy. He couldn't even give me a refund! He gave me $40 in "First Watch Bucks" instead. First Watch gets a Second Chance: Well, they blew the second chance. Because the food is so good, we gave the Canton location a second chance. This time, we ordered through DoorDash (but couldn't use the bucks on the app because they lousy bucks are for DINE IN only -- & I'm not trying to get into a packed restaurant during Covid). We received our food in a normal time frame, but instead, multiple items were missing, plus the sides that are included with TWO meals! I called up there to get a refund and the lady left me on hold for 5 minutes. Finally, my boyfriend called instead to give them a little taste of their own. Well, guess who picks up the phone for him? The manager from the first experience. My boyfriend was just annoyed now since the staff had shown no care at all! The manager seemed frustrated at US (??) and said "I have an operation to run." We will see if we finally get that refund... (no confirmation yet!) l'm leaving this review because their staff doesn't have a sense of urgency or care! No care for checking meals before they're picked up. No care if a customer is waiting in their establishment for AN HOUR waiting for their food. No care if their customer is on hold for over 5 minutes. No care at all. The worst part is, the food is great! $56 for that type of service and incorrect / missing items? Beware, folks! read more

Had such high hopes but i was so disappointed. The wait wasn't long but I explicitly asked for a patio table but they tried to seat me inside. It was a long convo with the host about the outside table so didn't understand the confusion. The waitress was fine and friendly but the wait for food was waaaay tooo long. We waited at least 45 minutes from the time we ordered until the food arrived. Unfortunately then my eggs were raw white on the inside. I tried to eat it because we had waited so long but just couldn't. My fear of sending avacado toast with 2 basted eggs back was realized--another 10 minutes. I can baste two eggs and spread avacado on toast i 5 minutes. So very sad that we won't be back. There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try but I just can't wait that long for eggs. read more

We ended up walking into this restaurant on a whim, and absolutely loved it. I had the ricotta lemon pancakes, he had the chimichanga breakfast burrito (I can't remember what it's called). We also ordered the million dollar bacon. Everything was delicious, and I enjoyed the ambiance. We will definitely be back! read more

Finally we can eat out again. First Watch is our first experience since restrictions were lifted. Great choice, we got in right at 7 am when they opened. They were spotless clean. My wife ordered the Crab and Avocado toast, I had the Works omelet with a side of bacon and potatoes. Food was awesome. Kim, our waitress, was excellent! Very friendly and helpful. Stopped in for brunch after hunting, my Dad and I had to wait for about 30-45 for a table. While waiting I decided to watch the operation. I noticed the guy who was working the host stand/cash register was also running food and bussing tables. One table was wiped down with a paper towel, and never spayed with a solution. I never noticed him wash his hands before he ran food to a table. There were about 8 tables that were never bussed the whole time I was there. The food looked fantastic going out to other tables, but unfortunately we canceled our order. My Father took a sip of his water and noticed that there were a bunch of food particles/floaties in his glass, it was as if it didn't make it through the dishwasher. This cafe left a very bad taste in my mouth. We arrived and was initially quoted a 20 minute wait time which want an issue. After 35 minutes I approached the front desk and was then quoted a wait of 60 min. After another 15 minutes we were requoted 1.5 hrs and there were 13 people ahead of us. Meanwhile I watched and people were being walked in. I heard guest state she made her reservations from home. When I spoke to the desk person not only were they un apologetic but the person they spoke to afterwards was promised a table in a few minutes and they appear to have waited less than me. Suggest you train your people in how to properly estimate wait times. You have turned.off quite a number of prospective clients and we will never one back read more

Sunday Brunch: No social distancing whatsoever. No separation of booths or seating at every other booth. ALL booths were full with 2-4 people. ALL tables were full. People collecting outside the door waiting to get in. 100% capacity...NOT 50% capacity. If want you Covid served up with your breakfast...by all means...go here. I've only ever eaten inside a couple times, but the food is always super good and nice and fresh! Definitely a great spot for some interesting comfort food. Whenever I go I always ask for the server Kimberly. She's always so attentive and sweet whenever we did stop inside for some breakfast. I always had such a good time when she was our server! This was my first time dinning in a restaurant since this whole Covid-19 thing. I was impressed. They are adhering to all the CDC guidelines for social distancing. The waitresses kept their mask's on the entire time. I had breakfast there, the food was really good. I ordered blueberry pancakes and a side of turkey sausage. I could not believe the size of the pancake it was as big as the plate it was served on, I am glad I only ordered one lol. Today was our first time at this restaurant. We arrived about 9:30 a.m. It took a long time to get our food. The waitress never came back once to check on us. The food was cold when we received it. We did not have time to have them remake it or warm it. I ordered a Belgium waffle with a fruit compote. The soupy fruit was in a tiny metal salad dressing cup. It tasted like a waffle that you get at a hotel~make your own. My husband order Eggs Benedict with Salmon and potatoes. The potatoes were terrible. They tasted like they were cooked in old grease. Maybe they were from yesterday! He hardly got any Hollandaise sauce on his eggs. I was hoping to order a veggie omelet but it was not on the menu. The omelet choices that they had were not good for me. We felt that the prices were a bit high also. Not sure if we will try it again. Our bill was over $31.00 plus tip. That is a lot for breakfast. We would have enjoyed an Egg McMuffin from McDonald's better. read more
