Very friendly staff and usually easy to get prompt help. They appear to be competitive on their loan rates.

When we went to her office I told her I was closing my account with their bank at the end of the month and that I had emptied out my safety deposit box as I was closing it as well. I told her that one of her employees, I am assuming she is in "charge"of the vault, has treated me like a criminal EVERY time I deal with her. The latest was when I asked for 200.00 in dollar coins, which I save for my grandsons. After taking my I.D and walking away, I could see her on the phone. They never even asked me for my account number. After several minutes she returned, I asked her if there was a problem. she said no, but since Covid they have to be careful who they give change to! Covid! was 6 years ago!!!!! I asked where was my I.d? oh, sorry, it's over on the counter! I was livid! I decided to take my banking to a friendlier place! Fast forward to my interaction with Callie, she wasn't the least apologetic to me, and even less worried that I was closing my accounts! Believe me I will be telling everyone I know NOT to bank with them! Montana friendly? What a joke! Do not bank with them unless you want to feel, judged, like you are a criminal, and just disrespected!

I was surprised to learn this, but my own experience confirmed that this company operates unethically. After reporting fraud on my debit card twice, the bank decided I no longer needed a debit card and refused to issue me a new one. To make matters worse, they don't allow you to purchase cryptocurrency with your debit card. Since crypto is the future, you'll need to bank elsewhere to handle these basic transactions.

An absolute joke of a bank…read more.. We recently took out a loan with this company when purchasing our sprinter van build. My husband and I have no experience in loans or financing related to this type of business and we really were looking for guidance and competent lenders to get this loan done correctly. The loan contact we dealt with was named Katie. She offered to fund our loan but also offered to handle titling the vehicle for us. When we started our loan process, she seemed quite competent but as we started working on insurance timing and titling the vehicle, the ball was completely dropped. We later found out that Corporate (Tiffany) sent over paperwork to Katie to get titling done correctly and Katie per corporate, Katie did not follow up, did not sign the paperwork correctly, and hence when we came to pick up our vehicle, nothing was ready for us legally to get on the road. The excuse Karen, the apparent branch manager, gave us as to why things weren't done was that Katie was pregnant and on maternity leave for some of our loan process. It would make sense to me that when someone knows they will be gone on maternity leave that they would follow up or pass along any outstanding information or jobs that had yet to be completed to other coworkers. Maternity leave and pregnancy is not an excuse for why work was not done before maternity leave either. We were very disappointed by the lack of response and remorse on the business side of things when we came to pick up our van. We spent the first three days after getting the van either at the DMV, coordinating with corporate to send us paperwork that should have been in our hands prior to the vans completion, and speaking to very rude and incompetent staff trying to figure out where the ball was dropped. If a business drops the ball and apologizes then does things to make it right, I absolutely would go back to them. However, this bank did not do that. They not only dropped the ball, but they did not apologize. They made us feel like we did something wrong and we had to be the ones to sort it out. We have tried to contact them multiple times since October to ask about titling and loan fees with no follow up from Karen...again the apparent branch manager.... If you are looking for a bank to help you seamlessly take out a loan and make the process of getting a car, sprinter van, RV, etc. this is absolutely NOT the bank for you.

Do not use this bank. I have gone through RMCU for 11 years and finally closed my accounts. After…read moredealing with the incredibly rude branch manager, Shelly, in Belgrade due to the bank's faulty fraud system flagging on my card, leaving me unable to access my funds for two days, I decided I had finally had enough. Traveling out of state is a nightmare. They will restrict your debit card once you cross state lines. I had to resort to racking up my credit card because I could not access my bank account when out of state. If you buy online at an out of state store, they will flag it for fraud and restrict your accounts. If you try to deposit a check by mobile deposit, it says $2500 maximum, but you can really only deposit $1500, then they'll put it on a 3 day hold. They'll hold deposits on anything over $500 and it's incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. I changed my maiden name (in person at RMCU in Belgrade) to my married name last June in 2024 and just went in last week (Dec 2025) to have them tell me I never updated my information, then tried to blame their brand new system they had only recently started using. When closing my accounts, they shorted me $30, then didn't close my accounts. I didn't even bother telling them they shorted me as I was so relieved to finally be done with RMCU. But, I had to call two weeks later to have them closed because they failed to follow through, even though all paperwork was signed two weeks prior. The last branch manager (Shelly) in Belgrade, who has since left, was so incredibly rude and unprofessional I requested an apology letter and restricted her from accessing my accounts. If you want to feel secure in a financial institution, DO NOT USE RMCU. I cannot stress this enough. First Security Bank and has been the most incredible experience. They have had wonderful customer service from day one, incredible loan officers, 100% professional and FOLLOW THROUGH on everything with clear communication. I have never once worried any transactions will be put on an unnecessary multiple day hold or not having access to my accounts. Highly, HIGHLY, recommend First Security Bank.

I recently paid off my car loan with them and have been waiting for the tittle to be sent to me. A month went by and no tittle so I called to inquire about it. The person answering the phone stated I had to contact the DMV because the credit union already submitted my paperwork to them. I said okay, thanks. The DMV in the state to which the vehicle is registered stated I needed to contact the credit union because it will come from them so I did. I called the credit union again almost a month after my first call and the person who answered the phone name is Becky had a very rude and almost like don't bother me attitude. She stated the folks from the loan department mailed me my title back in September, no notice of sending me this very important document was sent to me, or anything on their end. Needless to say I have not received my tittle. When I explained this to Becky her attitude again was like go kick rocks pretty much very carelessly she said, you will have to file a request with your DMV for a lost tittle. Unknown to Becky filing any paperwork with the DMV is a nightmare. I hope the next person who pays off a vehicle does not have to experience what I just did.
