I go to this bank and I am always disappointed. The interior is clean but sometimes confusing. The drive thru doesn't offer coin exchange which is annoying and they say they don't offer to change in coins at 3:30 but really they stop at 3. Not to mention I went in there today and exchanged my 7 dollar worth of coins for dollars and I only got 3 dollars back by the coin counter it's off by 5 dollars. The only good thing there is the suckers and the candy coins for my daughter as well as the dog bones for my puppy. I am personally not satisfied. read more

Today I went in and emptied out my safety deposit box which I've had there for years. Then I asked for the bank manager, Callie was her name. When we went to her office I told her I was closing my account with their bank at the end of the month and that I had emptied out my safety deposit box as I was closing it as well. I told her that one of her employees, I am assuming she is in "charge"of the vault, has treated me like a criminal EVERY time I deal with her. The latest was when I asked for 200.00 in dollar coins, which I save for my grandsons. After taking my I.D and walking away, I could see her on the phone. They never even asked me for my account number. After several minutes she returned, I asked her if there was a problem. she said no, but since Covid they have to be careful who they give change to! Covid! was 6 years ago!!!!! I asked where was my I.d? oh, sorry, it's over on the counter! I was livid! I decided to take my banking to a friendlier place! Fast forward to my interaction with Callie, she wasn't the least apologetic to me, and even less worried that I was closing my accounts! Believe me I will be telling everyone I know NOT to bank with them! Montana friendly? What a joke! Do not bank with them unless you want to feel, judged, like you are a criminal, and just disrespected! read more

First off, this company is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which means this small bank doesn't have to demonstrate a commitment to resolving customer complaints or adhering to ethical standards. I was surprised to learn this, but my own experience confirmed that this company operates unethically. After reporting fraud on my debit card twice, the bank decided I no longer needed a debit card and refused to issue me a new one. To make matters worse, they don't allow you to purchase cryptocurrency with your debit card. Since crypto is the future, you'll need to bank elsewhere to handle these basic transactions. read more

Stockman Bank - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Bozeman, Montana

Great bank, solid online phone app. Lots of drive-through lanes, staffed with lots of pleasant, competent tellers. They're lobby is full of bankers who seem happy, move fast and don't ignore you (vs. US Bank for example.) It's unfortunate to have to explain to those uninformed that have left negative reviews: -- Yes, you have to be a customer of a bank to use it's services. Don't think you can bank online, or not have a bank and ask for free services. Companies are in business to make a profit, in order to fairly compensate their shareholders (who have taken their hard-earned money, that they've saved, paid taxes on, and invested--at risk mind you,) pay their employees, stay in business to serve their customers, donate to local causes and support non-profits. Get off your high horse and take an economics class. -- Since forever it has been conventional wisdom to call your bank and tell them you are going to be traveling. They block your accountto prevent fraud, to protect YOU. They put a note in your account, and Problem solved. -- There are two sides to every story. I'd Love to hear Stockmans side of the story. Was the lady who had problem after problem a Karen trying to do things she wasn'tauthorized to do for her father? I've dealt with many banks in my lifetime, and Stockman's is good old fashioned Montana solid. read more

Another review. You know you are on the winning team when you travel internationally and your hometown bank has the best ATM withdraw rate in a foreign currency being beat out by only one of a bajillion transfer companies. Transfer wise gives a better rate on transfers into GBP bit only by a few pence. When you consider the time and effort to get an account with transfer-wise and the time involved in doing a transfer rather than just taking out cash via an ATM then there really is no reason to do it unless someone else transfers via transfer-wise because they can't deposit to you account directly at stockman. Just another way this bank is awesome. Yes the $1 atm fee for not using an atm of theirs is low and the fact that they don't charge you anything else in the ATM transaction side is one of the reasons I use them and gladly promote them!! read more

No star rating. This bank has put my family at risk of being homeless and without food. My fiancé is a hard working man providing for his family with our daughter. This bank has held his money, band his account, refuses to give him his IRA. The best part; if you use your card online or out of state, they will gladly put a ban on your account due to "suspicious activity" and you will have the most trouble getting your card back up. Worst part; one of the head ladies, Sandy Drietz laughed at my families situation. I recommend any other bank in the world, online banking would be a much better option for those wondering where to bank. Not Stalkman! read more

We are traveling this summer across the country and sometimes need quarters to do laundry. I went into the Stockman bank and asked the teller to exchange a $20 bill for two rolls of quarters. She said they can't do that unless you have an account there. I was flabbergasted! I asked why not, and she indicated it was just their policy. I certainly would think twice about banking here if I lived in the area. Lucky for me, another bank a short distance away did take my legal $20 bill and exchange it for quarters. read more
