I love First Primary Care, it's the next best thing from having a doctor make a house visit. You get assigned a doctor and you can text them anytime there's a concern, you need to make an appt. or you need a prescription. You text the doctor her/him self not the admin. My doctor is Dr. Wertz and she is wonderful. I always feel relaxed around her and she is very professional. The best medical care anyone could ask for. My daughter had been dealing with migraines for years, and would end up in the ER 4 to 5 times a year when she couldn't bear the pain any longer. I just moved to the Houston area from Southern California and was resolved to the fact I was going to get into another HMO like the one I had (Kaiser) in California. After talking to a doctor who happened to be in Houston on a medical conference about Direct Primary Care, I started doing some research. I elected to try it out... Cut insurance companies out of what happens between you and your doctor! Well, for a fraction of the cost of what I was paying in California - which was almost 900/month, I signed up for First Primary Care along with a catastrophic type of plan (also not insurance) through Dr. Goyal's practice. Immediately upon signing up, I was contacted directly by the doctor through the app I was instructed to download. He ordered a full blood work-up as a prelude to our first meeting. I was sent the order, printed it out, and went to the lab which was extremely convenient (no wait, in and out). Within a couple days, Dr. Goyal sent me the results and scheduled my first appointment with him. He set aside an entire hour in an effort to get to know me, and go over all of the results in the blood work. Today, I had my first appointment. Let me tell you something!!! 180 degrees from the assembly line feel of a large, insurance run, HMO! The initial blood-work was included in the cost of the plan with First Primary Care and my cost for additional tests I asked for specifically was only 35 bucks. Finally, a throwback to the days of having your own doctor - one who molds your care around you, and not around what insurance companies say is okay. I am thoroughly happy with him and with the concept of Direct Primary Care... and if you're considering the change, definitely I would recommend Dr. Goyal and his team at First Primary Care. I signed up to this program late August 2019, due to some fatigue issues. I will be honest, I was skeptical at first because I've had the run around with health care for over a year and I figured what else do I have to lose. I got a call from a representative who spent 45 minutes on the phone with me to answer all of my questions. Once I signed up to the program and downloaded the app to communicate with my physicians, I immediately got a first appointment in the same week. Upon arrival, I was greeted at the door by Dr. Goyal and in the same room I met Dr.Dhukka who were BOTH in the room with me. I listed my concerns, and they came up with a treatment plan for me. Not only did I have options for treatment, they went out of their way to find which pharmacy had the best costs for me prescription wise. A few weeks later, my routine lab work (covered by their program) came back, I asked if I could do a few other tests and found out I had another underlying ailment. We had a long talk when I came back into the office about it, and it wasn't about the diagnoses but they genuinely cared about how I felt about the diagnoses. I was then referred to a specialist by Dr.Goyal, and what I appreciate about this referral is that it wasn't just someone he knew, but he also kept my budget in mind. Also, before the referral, Dr.Goyal went out of his way to get opinions on my bloodwork by other specialists he knew. That's how we got such a quick understanding about what was going on with me. In 1.5 months, we've managed to figure out why I was feeling so fatigue. Ways I can improve it and my options with treatment. I cannot recommend this enough. It's hard to explain but think of it like a gym membership for your healthcare needs. So many basic things are included, you don't have to worry about wait time, if you need to see them, they are almost always available or you can reach out to them through the app. This is direct doctor to patient healthcare and it's the best thing in my opinion . These folks are awesome and I hope more places will follow in their footsteps! read more

I would definitely recommend First Primary Care to anyone who has it available to them. My physician is the kindest and most attentive physician I've ever had. The response time is almost immediate and I can ask her anything (and I always do!). Not only has First Primary Care saved me a tremendous amount of money but as soon as I feel like I may have a health issue I don't have to call and set up an appointment I just text and ask and response is sent back the same day. My health concerns never go in my "worry basket" longer than a day and I think this is the kind of health care that should be available to all human beings. This office is not disabled friendly. I went in last week for my first physical exam and was denied care for not wearing a mask due to my allergies and asthma. Without having EVER examined me or asking me about it, she sent the receptionist in to tell me she would not be seeing me and masks don't hurt asthma. However, if she'd done her duty instead of recklessly diagnosing me as "fine" she might have learned that on that particular day (and as I had been TRYING to tell the receptionist, however she was talking over me and as I'm partially deaf it was difficult to get much of a word in edgewise AND hear her) I was severely congested due to allergies and wheezing some from the asthma. I was actively having trouble breathing because of the swelling of my airways. I mean, I had worn a mask in her office the week before while escorting my husband (when the weather was more favorable) so it's not like I just wouldn't wear a mask. I did refuse hand sanitizer both times, but it has an aggressive odor and soap and water are equally effective. The CDC and the state of Texas allows that asthmatics may not be able to wear masks. You're supposed to contact your doctor if you get worse, right? So it's pretty shocking I was IN a doctor's office, waiting for my first full appointment with a supposedly "caring" doctor. According to the ADA they are supposed to provide REASONABLE accommodations. A reasonable accommodation would have been to come out to the waiting room (yes, I was already in the building, touching things and kind of breathing) and make sure it wasn't an emergency and then make me the last patient of the day. Instead, she diagnosed me, even though she's NEVER examined me nor laid eyes on me outside of a video call, and treated me as if I wasn't worth her time refusing to make ANY effort to "put patients first". This violated every claim from their website that made us sign up. On top of that, they have kept the money we've paid for the care we were supposed to receive. Beware: you're only going to be put first if they feel like it. In my case, she blamed it on her immunosuppressed patients. Both of us deserve better. It's not cool to try to pit one disabled group against another. You can treat both groups if you care about your patients. read more

I've been a patient with these guys for a while now (few years) and I have had nothing but an amazing experience. Their doctors and staff and kind, attentive and genuinely great at what they do. I had an issue and was in severe pain in the middle of the night. By 9am (after my ridiculous middle of the night messages of desperation) I had medication I needed along with the right appointments for later that day to actually solve the problem. They take their time and actually explain things as well as look for the actual root cause of why things are happening, rather than just drugging the symptom... which is an experience I've not had with a doctor before. Not only that but their model is unique. To be able to pay a monthly fee and know that if something goes wrong there is someone who can help without costing an arm and a leg is AMAZING. They continuously look for ways to support me and answer questions about my unique health needs. They care about the smallest of details and always patiently answer all of my inquiries!
