DO NOT USE THESE DOCTORS - STAFF SENT MY DNA TO THE WRONG COMPANY…read more I found Contemporary Medicine Associates through their listing as registered on the Genesight website. When I called to make an appointment with them for the Genesight test, I spoke with someone over the phone from their office who said the doctor registered no longer works there but they still provide the test. I came in, had the test done, and one week later was contacted by a different company, Genomind asking me for my personal information. I was confused and asked if they were a parent company to Genesight. They said they were not, and did not offer the same subsidies as the Genesight company. I had selected Contemporary Medical Associates because I called and confirmed with them that they offered the Genesight test, told prior by Genesight that I qualify for a significant subsidy in leu of the $300 initial cost. Up until this morning, associate Maria was still under the pretense she had administered the Genesight test, however she claimed it was spelled Genecite and even spelled it for me over the phone not the Genesight test. Maria even told me the test I received was spelled "G-e-n-e-c-i-t-e" test at which point I called GenoMind to say they had never offered a test by that name. They said they offer a genocept test and had never heard of the "g-e-n-e-c-i-t-e" as Maria spelled it for me. Maria told me it was on the website when I called back to ask her again where she found the word genecite, she then realized it was in fact the genecept test. She also told me their office was never registered with Genesight. I asked her if a former doctor working for the company may have registered to which she replied possibly but that the doctor hasn't worked at CMA for 5 years. I also spoke with the office manager Heather who did not see a problem with the error. She was extremely rude and continued to aggressively ask me what they could do for me at this point. I was made to feel stupid for not looking at the form when up until this morning their own staff was saying I had the Genecite not Genesight test done, when in fact it was the Genecept test. I am now likely out more money than I initially would have been. And a company that was not recommended, researched, or vetted prior, or recommended by Dr. now has my DNA.

Dr. Scurria is an excellent physician. Her involvement in MDVIP is a plus. When I first met her…read more(a meet and greet with no charge), I was very impressed with her know, edge and manner. For my husband and I (both in our 70s), easy access to our doctor and quick results from tests are very important. I fact, I was able to reach her when I was out of the country for her advice. We also were able to get her guidance during an ER visit. She stayed involved throughout and made referrals for specialist followup. It would have been far worse without her help. We have both had many different physicians and medical experiences. She is far superior to our last physicians. And we know we can count on her to be there for us.

I have just found this review on Dr. Scurria. First, I am retired and on a very limited budget, but…read moreI find the $1,500 yearly fee charged to belong to the MDVIP program well worth the cost. Second, I have been a patient of Dr. Scurria's for over twenty years and have always found her to be a responsible, knowledgeable and caring physician. Dr. Scurria was my physician before she joined the MDVIP program and despite being inundated with many patients, she has always taken the time to listen when I needed her medical advice and, she gives me sound advice. She has had a sign in her office which read (paraphrasing) "you may have to wait but you will have my undivided attention when I see you". If I need a specialist she always refers me to the best medical provider for a particular malady. I do not know her financial history, but I do know she has had patients who did not pay their bills. I would overhear patients in the waiting room discussing this among themselves. In addition, she has always maintained an office of very professional assistants, which must cost her dearly. I know she must have been under tremendous stress from seeing so many patients and having a huge financial responsibility. Joining the MDVIP program has made it possible for her to have less on her plate and thus help to keep her healthy and hopefully around for a long time. I will continue to be her patient for as long as she continues to practice and for as long as she can put up with me. When she joined MDVIP I was heartbroken. I thought I could not afford the program and I would have to give up my patient doctor relationship with Dr. Scurria, however, when weighing the pros and cons of having or not having her as my doctor, I decided it would cost me far more to lose her than the $1500 MDVIP fee. In addition, MDVIP worked with me to pay the fee in installments. A plan offered to all patients. Perhaps Jay D. really cannot afford the fee; I certainly understand that, however, to belittle a doctor for trying to improve their own situation so that they can offer their patients a healthier and less stressed physician, one who is willing to go the extra mile for her patients is either, someone who is unfamiliar with the everyday working life of a family practitioner or, someone who is just blatantly unkind. Of course you can find a doctor who does not belong to the MDVIP program but, you will not find a better more caring physician than Dr. Scurria.

It is honestly just an iron wall. You simply have to get through in order to get an appointment but once you do only contact your doctor there and provider not them. :) UPDATE: I did receive a call from a different care specialist and she was able to reschedule my appointment for an earlier time thank goodness I guess it just depends on who you talk to that's why it is important to call multiple times!!

I will be reporting to Medical Board again because this isn't the first time. They told me it was free and useful for knowing the babies health which is far from free. This time I will be pushing it all the way till I get a court date. I have prove of them always providing wrong and unfair treatment and options. Legacy will be hearing from me like they did the first time. I might be young but i was not born yesterday. Best of luck to them and the Medical Board cause paper work with your name on it and proof isn't a good look on Clinic.

What I don't appreciate is when medical practitioners get offended when you ask questions, or challenge theories when it comes to your own health. It is my body and my life, I think every patient should ask questions and challenge conventional theories. I have a thyroid issue. I am trying to find ways to heal it. I have been seeing Dr. Horsefield for maybe 5 years now, and have noticed passive aggressiveness before... but what I recently experienced is clearly unacceptable. I saw him for my regular annual appointment 3 months ago. My TSH levels were too high, so I got on some thyroid supplements and we retested about 6 weeks later. The results came in and the TSH levels were too low. I have since readjusted my medication and sent him an email politely asking if he could order the bloodwork to retest my levels so I can ensure i am now healthy and found the right balance. His response was callous. I have attached a photo with the passive aggressive response, where he makes it clear that he wont put the test in the system because he doesn't get paid for "answering emails, ordering tests, reviewing tests, communicating test results and maintenance of records" ..... REALLY? Aren't those tasks associated with being a doctor? I would be happy to pay him, for me it isn't about the money at all. In addition, clearly SOMEONE is getting paid when I order these lab tests because I'm charged thousands of dollars for them. All I need though is the bloodwork.... and he doesn't have availability for 2 months!?! I'm extremely disappointed that someone in the healthcare field is so much more concerned about their wallet than their patients health. Also if he wanted to charge me a processing fee that is fine, but his solution is clearly not in my best interest to wait 2 months and potentially do irreversible damage to my body.
