I took in my classic Corvette to see if they did oil changes for older cars. They didn't have the filter, but made a special trip to get one and still I was in and out quickly. I've been getting my oil changed here for the past few years and have been happy with their service - they're quick, friendly, and efficient, and don't try to upsell me on a bunch of unnecessary stuff. Most recently, I arrived not too long after opening on a Monday morning and got in right away; they did only have one bay open and two more cars came in behind me, so there would have been much more of a wait had I arrived 5-10 minutes later. Paid $95 for a synthetic oil change on my Subaru. Only issues I have are that when I saw the receipt, it said that they had washed my front windshield (they didn't), and that I had declined a tire pressure check (I didn't). (He did vacuum up the leaves on the front of the car, which I greatly appreciated.) There was also a reference to a Bible passage ("Romans 15:5 NIV") in the notes section, which was . . . weird. I took my car in for an oil change, I ran an errand in West Salem and then headed home. Parked in my garage. The next morning I took the car out to run an errand. I ha a difficult time changing gears and the car was smoking black smoke I got as far as the end of the block. Did a u-turn and made it home. Opening the garage noticed a huge oil puddle!!! My son pulled the oil stick and the oil was overfilled twice as usual. He looked at the transmission stick and NONE!!! I called First Lube and thet said bring the car. NOT. The guy did come to my house with transmission fluid. He followed us to the shop. After draining and refilling the oil he said you just got $300 for free? We asked them to credit my card with the original amount. _NO was the wrong answer. My transmission could have been ruined, My car is a 2002 vehicle so it may have done some harm. I suggest you try someone else. read more

Best service period. Been going here for the past couple years for my oil changes and their service has always been outstanding! The staff is always extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure you leave fully taken care of. One of my visits they even offered to change out my cabin filters at no additional cost, just the price of the filter. Will be coming back many years to come. read more

I can honestly say I had the most enjoyable oil change ever here! There was hardly any wait when I arrived, and the guys were all so genuine and friendly. The space was clean and organized. I don't know too much about cars so I had lots of questions about what they were doing, and they didn't take advantage of that and try to upsell me like most places do. They just answered all my questions thoroughly, truly going above and beyond with everything they did, and just really made me feel comfortable and at ease. I left feeling like I'd found a really awesome place to get an oil change, which was a touch bittersweet considering I don't live anywhere nearby to keep returning. They are not salesman they explain if there is additional work that may need doing in a way that's easy to understand but don't push you into getting it done. AVOID USING THIS LOCATION FOR UHAUL RETURN. I rented a uhaul 1 way from Seattle to drop off at this location. I was sure to clean the uhaul out (sweep/bleach mop) before returning. THEY CHARGED ME $500 for cleaning fee stating "it smelled like marijuana". I don't even smoke marijuana. They were very unreasonable as I was trying to explain my situation. Was unwilling to refund and hung up on me. Also, the receipt shows drop off time as HOURS after I physically dropped the truck. When I walked in, the worker seemed busy and told me to leave the keys. Currently in contact with uhaul corporate to solve this issue. Unreasonable and irresponsible 3rd party uhaul vendors like this should NOT BE ALLOWED to do business on behalf of Uhaul. This is my favorite place to get an oil change in Salem and possibly anywhere. I normally loathe getting my oil changed and all the up-selling for things I don't understand since I'm not mechanically inclined. First Lube is the opposite of this, clearly explaining their prices, super helpful in explaining car information without talking down to customers and extremely fast. The location is also convenient to downtown and the bathrooms were clean, furthermore their mechanics are extremely congenial and exhibit great customer service. read more

I thought I was calling Sears auto and actually called the wrong number. The guy who answered - Joel, was so nice. After calling Sears and being treated so rudely, I called back and spoke to Joel, again. He treated me as if I was the only person he had to talk to all day. He looked up information for me, quoted me an unbelievable price, joked around with me a little and then told me to come in anytime. He told me they can get people in an out in about 20 minutes. At that point it didn't matter if it was an hour. I was so impressed. I am here waiting now and just learned this is a shop that helps men get back on their feet and learn a trade. Of all the places I've ever gotten my oil changed, this shop is the most superior, by far. Every single time I've been here, I have received nothing short of phenomenal customer service. I have never been pushed to buy anything extra nor had something pointed out that scares me into buying something that I don't need. I live in Buena Vista and there are several closer shops I could go to, however the service and staff are what keep me coming back. Wow, what service. I had the best experience here today. Went in for an oil change, I got much more. I was told yesterday, it would cost me $600 to fix my clouded headlights. The dealership said that they had to be replaced. Just went in for an oil change and the general manager fixed my problem with the cloudy headlights. He took the time to care. This place was great!! I rolled out of bed and headed over for an oil change and was in and out of there in about 20 min. I didn't want to go to Jiffy Lube because they always try to sell me on a million things that I don't know about, and I don't speak car so it's always a guilt trip when I don't buy all the stuff they suggest. First lube plus was the opposite. They were super friendly, told me about different oils and showed me stuff on my car. I can't remember what they showed me because like I said, I don't speak car, but they seemed to know their stuff and I felt like my little Honda was serviced by professionals when I left. Dan and Teemo did my oil change and they were super nice and super friendly. They didn't try to upsell me me on anything, they checked all my fluids twice (I saw them do it too!) and they even checked all my lights and blinkers. Who does that?!? I love having an oil change place in the downtown again. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Not having to go anywhere near Lancaster is wonderful and it's in a place where you can actually go do something while the car is being seen to. I'll be taking my car back to this location again.
