Anthony and his crew did an amazing job! We replaced old carpet with epoxy and it gave our house a much needed facelift and a unique, modern feel. Anthony was prompt to respond, he was patient- answering all of our questions thoroughly, and he was very personable. He was communicative, sending us updates throughout the process. His work was efficient and the materials he uses are high quality. When the floors were finished, moving back into the space was seamless; there was very minimal dust or clean up needed. It has been a couple of months and I am still finding myself marveling at the floors. A few things to consider- These floors have been so easy to clean! Our house has stayed cooler and we've actually seen a significant decrease in our electricity bill. First Due offers removal of old flooring. If you do your own clean out of old flooring/carpeting, First Due does not provide a haul-away service for the trash (I recommend Code 3 Junk Removal https://code3junkremoval.com/ another awesome first responder owned and operated business). Anthony is amazing. We remodeled our 1957 home and really wanted finished concrete floors. We moved some walls around, pulled up the tile and realized there was terrazzo tile underneath, imbedded in the slab! We decided to fill and patch the space ourselves and asked Anthony if he could epoxy over the fill. He walked us through the possible issues and his approach and was very positive. We were working around a lot of schedules with our cabinets and counters and he was able to devote time to our project even with the holidays looming and his regular job. We asked for a platinum gray with a matte finish and I could not be happier with our floors. It has been nearly five months now and they are holding up so well with our 3 kids, 3 dogs, and 3 cats! My husband and I had thought about doing this for years, and finally found Anthony from First Due Concrete Staining. He explained everything, to a T and what was going to happen. We chose a color and then we went (per Anthony's recommendation) and looked at a color sample at Cohills to be sure the original color we had chosen was what we really wanted. Seeing the actual color versus the color on the sheet was good because we changed our mind. I highly recommend you seeing the color up front and personal. We did most of the prep ourselves in removing the existing tile, carpet and linoleum in the three rooms we were getting done. (It's really was not that hard). Anthony came in the prep is the longest which he fully explained to us. And I hear you say what about the dust? There is little to no dust which I was totally amazed about. So this is the end results which we are absolutely thrilled with couldn't ask for a better finished product. And how to clean the floors? Anthony recommended either a microfiber brush or a swiffer sweeper so this also cuts down on the amount of chemicals for cleaning of the floor's . Small locally owned and operated business. The owner/operator, Anthony, is a firefighter and is extremely knowledgable and experienced. I removed all the tile and carpet in my house and had Anthony grind, polish, stain and seal the concrete sub floor. Anthony offers great customer service and pricing! He books up fast but we were willing to wait a few weeks to have our floors completed. We had a nice size area for him to complete but he did it in 2.5 days. He even cleans up his mess and touches up baseboards if needed! We are already planning to have him come back and stain the concrete for our Teen Room. We relocated to AZ recently and bought a new house. Immediately we wanted to change the carpets to something much more durable (2 kids and 1 dog). We live in a "work/live" condominium in downtown phoenix. We have two entrances to our condo. The entrances were originally stained concrete porches. The original builder placed landscape pots on ledges that are connected to the porches. These pots were watered by an underground watering system which through the years caused immense damage to the concrete, along with a lot of calcification. This, along with our intense heat made our front entrances look really bad. So we started searching on Yelp for a concrete company to take this project on. We had a couple concrete staining companies take a look at our porches, and both companies said it was beyond repair and would require major work and expense, and didn't even want to take it on. So we kept looking and found First Due Concrete. Anthony came out and looked at our situation. He admitted there was a lot of damage, and that it would be a process to bring it back to the original stained concrete look that we had before. But he told us it was doable, and he was confident that with the techniques he proposed, we would be happy with the result. He explained the entire process to us and very scientifically. He showed us an array of stain colors to choose from. He is extremely knowledgeable about the chemical processes involved, the stages of application, what to expect, etc. We were immediately impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. But most of all, Anthony is the nicest, most honest, dedicated person we have ever dealt with when it comes to any project we have had to do. He worked out a schedule that worked great. Always communicated with everything, which is something these days, trades do not do well at all! Even with his busy schedule as a firefighter, he still maintained his schedule with us. He had to come several times to make sure each application process was working according to his standard, checked with us at each stage. Our porches are absolutely beautiful now!! We no longer will be embarrassed about our customers entering our business. We couldn't be happier!! Anthony told us that due to the years of water damage to the concrete, we would need to allow the moisture underneath eventually come up to the surface. So he continued to come out to check it and treat it until he was satisfied with the surface. Nobody these days is that dedicated that they would continue to come back! We have been in the construction business for decades, and have never seen or experienced this level of commitment to quality on a project, that Anthony has. His price to do this job was not outrageous like the other two company's quotes, it was very reasonable. Anthony was an absolute godsend to my family. We have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a toddler. One of our cats refuses to use the litter box, so obviously, our house smelled horrible and the carpeting was soaked in cat urine...I was ready to either get rid of the cat (my husband's "baby") or sell our house. I started researching acid staining for concrete and looking up reviews for people who did this type of work. After seeing Anthony's Yelp reviews I called him and he came over to assess the situation. He was completely forthright and honest, telling us that if we pulled up the carpet and acid stained the concrete, we would have no idea what the final product would look like due to the urine being absorbed by the porous concrete foundation (basically it would react differently with the solution than a floor that had not come into contact with pet urine). I was heartbroken, until he told us about another option...metallic epoxies. He showed us some pictures of the product and it looked beautiful; there were also so many colors to choose from! We decided on a color called Cappuccino. Anthony did a fantastic job; his work is top notch and he is professional, knowledgeable, and very, very affordable.
