I came in today because I had something embedded in my eye. I'm not good with eye stuff...anyways Dr. Jimmy Quang took a look at my eye and found a piece of metal and rust. Within 15 minutes I was tiny metal and rust free. Like I said earlier, I'm not good with eye stuff. I started to have a physical response to the removal which I thought was a panic or anxiety attack, and Dr. Quang was really amazing with his support and ability to calm me down and honestly made me feel safe, kind of weird for a grown man to say. I am a long time patient of Wada Optometry, even before the Starship was built, but it adds a touch of class to his practice and I love it. If you are looking for excellent eye care just like for your medical and dental issues this is the place. Wada is a cut above the rest in his field. He does not raise the bar, he IS the bar. From the brick and mortar to staff and service there is none better. I was diagnosed with diabetes and encountered some drastic vision changes requiring quick attention as vision is very important to my industry employment. I called and expressed my circumstances and Dr, Wada and staff went out of their way to help when they were not obligated to. Additionally, the empathy and compassion from Ann (office staff) and the doctor can only be compared to that of the best of medical care. I have worked more than a decade in the medical industry and my experience is more than five star but that is all that is available. To the people that give one or two or even three stars I offer this: "If you had a problem with the practice and did not give them the opportunity to correct it, shame on you. The fault might be something you did or didn't do or say before you reviewed his practice, but maybe you are the type that does not take ownership for your actions and blames others. And lastly, they are people like you and me and people make mistakes as none of us walk on the water in our bath tubs." I found my new optometrist! Though the selection of frames could be better, the services offered here will bring me back for my regular check-ups. Very good service from the staff as a whole, from the receptionist to the optometrist. They have a very cool theme inside going on inside that is inspired by Star Trek. They do just about everything here eye related here as far as check-ups go, including peripheral vision tests and checking the nerves and eye pressure. read more

Not only is Dr Wada a doctor, he's a graduate of The Starfleet Academy! I've been getting my peepers checked by Dr Wada for 12 years so far. My initial reason for choosing his office was his super close proximity to my house. The office was super bland on the outside. Inside it's a spaceship, right out of Star Trek! Dr Wada is an awesome doctor who always makes sure I understand what my eyeballs are up to. A few years ago my eyes were burning, my doctor gave me eye drops. They totally made me feel like I was going blind. I was able to get an appointment that day. He fixed me and even gave me free samples to save from having to buy the eye drops. His newer office is even more fantastic! Yes, the variety of glasses isn't big. They have catalogs where you can order your dream pair. I've recommended the office to many of my friends. I have been going to Dr. Wada since I was maybe 11 or so .. when he was at his old Anaheim location by the Japanese market. I have had nothing but great experiences there. I recently came into some bad eye issues and Dr. Wada was very candid and honest with me about the issue and ways to cure/treat it. He gave me the attention and answers I was looking for. I had been referred by my primary physician to go to an opthamologist specialist and had no luck getting answers or kind words from her. She was really not concerned about giving me answers or explaining anything. Everytime I left her office I left confused and scared and just not satisfied with the attention I was given. Dr. Wada has always been nice and friendly and honest. He doesn't make you get glasses if you dont' need them, he makes your glasses work for your job, he finds you the right glasses for your job and lifestyle also. He is very nice and great for kids or adults. If you are in the market for a new eye doctor he is great. The ONLY negative thing about this office is that the eye glass selection is not very large. He has a lot of the same type of styles, but if you want a different or trendy look just take your prescription to lenscrafters or somewhere else. Otherwise A+ read more

I've never needed glasses until recently but I loved coming here to get my tests and prescriptions. I don't think it's intentional but it is a definite ASMR experience coming here and talking to Dr. Wada. It's just so nice and quiet in there and they talk so softly. What a fantastic experience. I'm a huge Trek fan and decided to leave my eye doctor of about 10 years to try Dr Wada's place and I don't regret it! The screen accurate props are too cool. The monitors have accurate LCARS animations and the audio to match. You feel like you're on a star ship. The doctor himself is very knowledgeable and did a great job with the exam. He also uses a lot of high tech gear that I haven't seen at other optometry offices. On a geeky note, he stopped at one point to show me his EMH Holographic Emitter that was next to the exam chair. This review is not necessarily for this doctor since I never met him. I'm going to start with the great things. My first impression was wow this office looks so cool and they have all kinds of frames for any style! The doctor (a female) did my exams and was great with me. I did end up LOVING my glasses. For that I am happy. The bad. My first issue was when the doctor could not do my contact lens fitting because they did not have my prescription so she said that they would order the closest thing as possible to my prescription. I was okay with that (I mean my prescription is pretty strong!) however I was told that they would let me know when they arrive so I could schedule an appointment for the fitting. Okay, so exams are done everything is paid now I wait for the call for both the glasses and the contacts. As instructed. Simple enough right? NO! They never called me. I called them on multiple occasions and no one ever answered! I made it a point to call at different times of the day on multiple days but they did not answer. Finally I told my boyfriend to call from his phone and they answered him first try!! He told the lady over the phone that I had been trying to contact them for a few weeks and asked if my glasses were ready. She replied with that they were in lunch and turns out the glasses were ready! So all this time I'm waiting eagerly for a call only to find out they were already ready. My boyfriend let them know that we were going to stop by that day to get them and we did. So I get there expecting to just pick up the glasses and get info on the contacts. The same girl who helped me originally was there and she says I owe money. Another $200 something bucks! At this point I'm almost in tears I know it sounds silly but it was a big deal to me because it was hard for me to pay in the first place even with insurance. I look at my boyfriend because at that point i couldn't speak and he let her know I paid already. Then she said I had only paid half! She asks me if she was the one to help me and I said yes. She looks over documents with another girl and they go to a room and come back. Basically the one who had not helped me originally says that I don't owe anything that it was their mistake. (Something along those lines) anyway by this time I'm a little more calm and I ask her if the contact lenses where here yet and she asks me what I was talking about. I explain to her what the doctor had said and turns out no one ever placed the order. Here I am upset again but she sets me up for the appointment. I did receive a call because I did not end up going to the appointment but it's only because I no longer wanted to do business at Wada Optometry any longer. read more

I'm not from California, but actually from Michigan. I've always had eye care for the extent of my life; I'm lucky enough to say that I've always had solid insurance. Dr. Wada has been the most thorough Optometrist by far. I didn't really know what to expect besides a cool waiting room... But that wasn't all that blew my mind. Seriously, one can tell he appreciates his work. He did more during my exam than any other optometrist thus far. His process includes double, triple checking whatever it takes, and then a run through the equipment with your prescription equipped. I knew I was going to leave a review when I noticed how surprised I was at the time. So, yep! He's a super nice guy with a super cool office. The Theme is genius and the service is quick and helpful, just the way I like it. Wada gave me advice for my concern and also gave me a solution for my eyes when I have allergies. Honestly, this is the greatest optometry I have ever been to. I mean you don't understand. Like actually they're the nicest people I have ever met. Like honestly the help was phenomenal and I haven't even begun to speak about the layout. Honestly, walking through the front door was the equivalent to stepping through a stargate portal but actually it's Star Trek themed and you can't believe how much time and effort they put into making this an experience. I didn't even want to leave because the atmosphere made it so fun. I mean walking through that front door, Jess But they call her Natalie, gave me the most beautiful smile and I was instantly welcomed and felt comfortable. My family and I have been customers for over 10 years. Dr. Wada and his staff are awesome. I know little or nothing about the optometry industry but it seems they have the latest and greatest in eye-care technology. Through a series of tests, they have a streamline effective process to evaluate your eyes health and situation. Dr. Wada is very experienced to diagnose and treat your eyes' health issues and he can recommend and prescribe contacts & glasses that are best for you. For glasses, I have often drawn off their staff for manufacturer advice and fashion/design opinions. Ann (the office manager), Jessica, and Andrea have been terrific. The whole team is also mindful to their patient's time and schedule. For example they don't schedule you in their office with a thirty minute contingency for their convenience (unlike many other doctor offices out there).
