Our job was his only job (that he was currently working on), so once he started, he worked until both bathrooms were completed. Other contractors have multiple jobs in the works, so they spend a couple hours here, a couple there, and it takes FOREVER. Not Chris. He is very considerate and cares for your house, takes steps to keep it clean while he works, and picks up EVERY day; that was much appreciated. His work is meticulous and beautiful. We've gotten many compliments on how beautiful and functional our new bathrooms are. If you are thinking about having some tile done, call Chris and let him give you a quote. Bought second floor carpeting after living with Karastan for over 30 years with no problems, just…read moreneeded a change in color. The nightmare begins, during COVID time frame carpet laid turned out to be from different color lots, manufacturers agreed to replacement. The second carpet was laid with a "shear" defect, that is a grove cit into the middle of carpet that looks like a one inch racing stripe. I asked how can this happen, didn't anybody at Reimer look at the carpet rolls prior to installation ? I guess not. Reimer offered a "settlement" which I foolishly accepted because being near 70 years old, I couldn't move all the furniture on the second floor for the third time. The problems soon started with the second carpet, ripples started to appear. it seems going forward , Riemer was going to charge to come out and look at ($75) the ripples and than charge for the repair. They have been out at least three times for ripples and over $500 dollars to take care of this issue. It seems to be a great profit stream because it was poor installation from I read on Google. just to add to this, areas that they had to de ripple, seem to be holding. but now the ripples are going to new areas . I feel like ripping out the mess and starting over with another merchant, I can't believe it's worth the money to have a endless cycle of restretching. Truely don't know what to do.

Experience thus far... 1) Purchased expensive wool carpet…read more(we were told it was carpet). 2) Manufacturing process took a long time but we were patient. We were told our carpet installation was "tricky," and required an experienced installer. This should have set off alarm bells as you will see below). 3) Carpet installation was scheduled approximately 3 months after order. 4) Install date arrives. We had moved everything in preparation. 5) Carpet and carpet pad are delivered. 6) Install team arrives. Lead installer has more than 35 years of experience. Seemed like a very credible guy. Other guys indicate that he is the top installer for Riemer. 7) After about an hour of analysis, lead installer tells us that the carpet cannot be installed. The carpet was designed only to be a rug and that the multiple seams we needed would look terrible. He demonstrated this by trying to cut the carpet/rug in front of us. 8) We ask what are our alternatives? Answer - carpet has to be returned and we need to start from the beginning in choosing a new carpet. 9) Lead installer said same thing happened a month ago and the customer had to choose different carpet. 10) Carpet and pad are returned to Riemer. 11) We started a new online search for carpet. After about 10 days, we had narrowed the search to two options. 12) Salesperson finally gets back to us after about 10 days. She indicates that they "found" an installer who will install the carpet without a problem. 13) Salesperson indicates this has never happened before, despite the fact that the installer with 35 years of experience said the same thing happened a month ago. Who is lying? Our experience is that it is typically the person who has a motive to lie. 14) Salesperson indicates that manufacturer will not take carpet back. Obviously therein lies the motive. Riemer is in a bind. Salesperson says we have no choice but to take the carpet with the new "special" installer. 15) We feel like this is a shakedown. What should we do?

However, don't necessarily expect them to listen to everything you request. I requested thresholds for the bedrooms. It was in the quote & therefore my contract. It was in the installers instructions. The installers said they would install them on second day. However, they were not installed. When requested thresholds to be delivered to me, stained, so I could install them, the response back I received was no we would rather not, but if you want them at a later date, we will do it. Yes they took the thresholds off the invoice. But that's not the point. If you tell the customer we can do that, but decide you don't want to do that, then why did you tell me in the first place? And if you forgot to do that task, why not make it right and complete the task?

An employee came out numerous times to check the moisture level on the baseboard to ensure that it was dry enough to lay a new floor. When it came time to lay the floor, the employee showed up on-time and ready to work. He was courteous, professional and very respectful of our home. He was knowledgeable about the products and took the time to answer our questions. And I love that it was a low-voc finish he used. We didn't get the heavy toxic fumes you usually get with a floor finish. Beautiful.

I think they did a wonderful job…read more Bryan Buckner, our salesperson, was pleasant to deal with - clear communication every step of the way - from picking out materials, cost estimates, setting appointments, and following up. We had our kitchen linoleum and great room carpet removed and replaced with hardwood, which took 4 days to complete. We also replaced the carpet on one flight of stairs, as it was torn up/detached - that only took half a day to complete. John was extremely accommodating. Free of charge, he offered to move up the kitchen cabinets above the fridge a couple of inches to allow room for the added height of the hardwood floor and now the cabinet doors open all the way too (they didn't before, due to obstruction from the fridge door hinges)! He also had good communication during the job. He made sure to tell me about issues or concerns he had along the way and gave me solution choices on what I preferred before he went ahead with it. In one instance of note, I gave the go-ahead to install the hardwood around our existing fireplace tile without t-molding (otherwise we'd have to order more wood), meaning he would have to spend extra attention to cut the wood so it would meet flush with the tile. He did exactly that. That night, my husband expressed that he preferred t-molding there so I called Bryan the next day to ask if it's possible to add t-molding around that tile area after-the-fact. After consulting with John, Bryan let me know that not only will John order more wood and come back to make that happen, but it was free of charge too. Also notable: we own a baby grand piano in the living room. Perfect Floors said they don't move those due to liability reasons, understandably. However, John offered to move it for us. He said he was afraid that if we move the piano ourselves that we'd damage the wood, and he was right. I watched as the guys painstakingly repositioned plywood, plank by plank, beneath the piano to move it and position it exactly where I wanted. Beautiful hardwood remained intact. I greatly appreciated that. Our floors were done in early April. It's now mid-July and I still love it. We often get compliments from visiting friends and family. Now it's just a matter of trying to prevent our toddler from destroying the floors TOO much... and I guess we can never have dogs/cats in the house... we'll see how long that lasts! In conclusion, I definitely recommend Perfect Floors and would do business with them again.

To say the installer was pissed off that he had no help would be an understatement at best. As a result, he did not vacuum, did not clean up, did not bother move any furniture back into place and left scraps everywhere in the house. On top of all of this, when we called the owner to inform him of our concern, he was not professional, not empathetic at all to the situation.. I would NEVER recommend Perfect Floors to anyone. Yet another example of an owner who has no issues taking your money however does not want to take any responsibility when the customer has issues with the installation.

This was…read morethe most ridiculously terrible home repair experience we've ever had in 25 years of home ownership in the Pointes. They were to have multiple workers to clean/repair master bathroom floor and enclosed shower and the Saltillo tile floor in kitchen - they had one worker arrive and they other called in sick - yet somehow miraculously arrived in good health after noon. The bathroom was "ok" but the worker missed cleaning the edge areas of the tile floor. The kitchen is were it gets ridiculous and dangerous. The estimate/contract explicitly states that they were to use "non-toxic cleaners" with steam cleaning in addition with machine washing as needed. These clowns, without consent or announcement, decided to use Muriatic (Hydrochloric) acid on our kitchen floor with my wife, our dog, our son and I all in the home closed up tight on a 30 deg day in December with a natural gas forced air furnace running the whole time. The fumes took our breath away after only a few seconds and also scorched our kitchen tile floor. Yet the lead worker was wearing a double canister face respirator. When I questioned him about the fumes, he only said through his respirator "you might want to not breathe this stuff in". They did not instruct us to open any doors prior or during the application of this Hydrochloric acid and had no regard for our safety, yet took very serious precautions for their own. They offered no apology and only maintained in a highly defensive attitude that it was part of their normal cleaning process, which according to the Sir Grout site and the contract/work order is 100% contrary to the truth. They stood in my kitchen with a mask on and lied to me about what I could plainly see with my own eyes. I have yet to receive a phone call from the area franchise owner that I was told I would by the lead worker. I would say this company is a joke if the consequences of their actions weren't so seriously dangerous. DO NOT USE this company for anything in your home.

TLDR: They are expensive and careless. This is a really…read moremixed review. They came within an hour of the appointment time, and were very pleasant. The work they did on the grout was good. They were sloppy toward the ends of two very long days, but overall the grout was good. Unfortunately, the material they us to clean the grout caused the finish on my bathtub to bubble up and peel away. They agreed to give me $200 toward a similar (low quality) treatment, but said that one of the men that worked on on my grout would do a higher quality finish for $500 (a value of $800 to $1200). He came and worked really hard, but the result was full of bubbles, and was peeling off in under two days. It took over a week to get a return date scheduled, and by then I realized I had realized I couldn't let them do more work on it. I hired another company to fix the tub, but the whole thing has taken over a month to resolve and was unnecessary from the beginning. The owner called me once to explain why it wasn't their fault, but that he would try to help me get my money back from his employee. He has not returned my follow-up call. The employee did, however, give the money back.

I have had Main Floor Carpet One Floor & Home (on Main St in Royal Oak) complete projects in my business, rental condo, and now my home and have had very positive experiences each time. I've had vinyl wood planking, carpet, carpet "squares," and now vinyl tile installed. The process from choosing materials, measurements, ordering, installation has been smooth without any unpleasantness. I do think that I'm easy to work with and that may be the reason I have had no issues. I'm very happy with the experiences I've had with this business.
