The description was accurate, the price okay and I scheduled for 22 Oct @ 9AM. On Friday the 16th I had an unintelligible phone message, the only word I could understand was "grout". On Monday morning I called their office to see what the message was about. After being put on hole for 4-5 minutes the girl responded she didn't have any information and I offered "maybe it was to see if I had the tiles, which I do". She said "great, we'll see you on Thursday the 22nd". I cleaned everything off the new countertop and eagerly waited for their tile installer to arrive. Nine o'clock went by, 9:30, 10:00, and at 10:30 I called to see what was happening. The girl (same one) again put me on hold and when she returned said "You are scheduled for Friday, the 23rd and Saturday. My immediate response was "NO! It's today and tomorrow and I'm looking at the confirmation". Her response was "well we sent a text message this morning." I immediately responded "No you didn't! I'm looking at my emails right now and you sent no message to me!" Then she put me on hold again. This time it was "we can only get you on Friday and Saturday", which is when I blew my top. "I have other plans on Saturday, I'm not going to be home then. You confirmed the dates on Monday, the same as the quote and I don't have any choice but to cancel. I needed this done today!" Her response? "If you want to cancel please let us know this afternoon". And that was that. She just told me two lies and now my blood is boiling. I called another tile installer (5 stars) and they came out immediately, gave the same quote within a few dollars, but couldn't get to me until the following week. After thinking for a while I called my Saturday meeting and canceled. I called Grout Medic back and said I'd go ahead "but your man better be here on time!" Today is Friday the 23rd. Nine o'clock went by, 9:20, 9:30, 9:45. At that very minute their installer pulled up in front but sat in the cab talking on the phone. And sat there. Finally, at 9:50 I called Grout and said "Cancel the appointment." She asked if the installer was there. "He pulled up at exactly 9:45 but he's outside sitting in his truck. I'm fed up with you people and I don't want to work with you. Just cancel". She didn't hesitate "Okay, you're cancelled". What really xxxxx's me off is that I'm in the process of remodeling my home and I have another four tile jobs to get done in the next three months. My experience with Grout Medic (do they do tile work or only grout?) has been a miserable failure. The company is unreliable, unprofessional and worse, they'll lie to your face just to cover their mistakes. I wouldn't recommend this company for ANY work!

We were so impressed that we had the company re-grout our kitchen floor and front entry hallway, which turned out to be a night and day difference. Marble countertops are a B*TCH to maintain. Putting that out there for anyone who's either looking…read moreto buy a new home or renovate their kitchen. It looks so pretty, but damages easily. Since no one warned me about this, I had to learn the hard way -- water stains galore, mixed with a few stray indentations of lemon wedges were ALL over the countertops in our kitchen. It wasn't totally noticeable to the naked eye, but upon closer inspection, kind of an eyesore. Thankfully, Stone Restoration Works responds to Request a Quote on Yelp. They specialize in just the very thing needed: refinishing marble countertops. A sales representative came by and provided an estimate, and within 3 weeks, someone came over to buff out the imperfections + put a new coat of sealant on the counters as to avoid more damage. It took about 6 hours on a Saturday, well worth the time/effort. The project cost about $800 and our refinished marble surfaces are so shiny! Not sure how long that will last, however, it was much more affordable to do this vs. have new counters made. When that does happen (because you can only refinish so many times), I will be getting quartz or wood.

Just to get an initial estimate for a project, I've contacted you repeatedly via email and voicemail, which weirdly goes directly to your owner's personal phone, but never with a response. To which I've clearly outlined what it is we need done in terms of refinishing our kitchen and bathroom tile, but to no avail. I've given approximate measurement of said space, thinking maybe our project is too small for your company, asking that you please let us know either way. Again, nothing. I work in the customer service industry, which, granted, isn't technically what you are, and I am willing to give a long leash to companies for being too busy and not GETTING this part of the whole communication process...to a point. But at this point you just seem like you don't care about the money or are too lazy or anti-social to give a simple yes/no response. Either way, you didn't get our money and we ended up going with another option. And that option is what I hope more do which is learning how to DIY. YouTube is very helpful and I encourage those with the time and means to learn basic stone refinishing themselves. It's relatively easy, but time consuming, and I would have always rather paid more to have it done by one of their "professionals." But here we are... Anyway, gotta love a learning experience you would've actually paid for.
