This is part one of two parts to my Review as the repair of my car hasn't been completed. As of today Sam (who I believe is in charge, not sure if he's the owner) has been the only contact with the shop, has had my car for twelve weeks now with nothing completed.he diagnosed the problem the first day, gave me a quote. I zelled him a deposit, enough for the part and the labor. Five weeks later he informed me that the part had arrived, it was installed but didn't fix the problem. He explained the part was poorly rebuilt and needed to be returned and we had to wait for the refund to order a different part. At this time he informed me that the shop would be closed to honor the lunar new year. This was week seven when they returned to work still waiting for the refund to show up. It's was week nine he let me know that he couldn't find the part we needed and he had used my deposit money to pay bills and dint have any left to buy the part. To continue with the repair he said I had to find the part and pay for it on top of the $2000 I'd already gave him. Week ten I found the part , paid for it. A week later the part vendor located in Germany canceled my purchase stating the war in Iran made it too expensive to ship the part" find one in your own country " he's said. So I found the part , paid again and the part arrived at the begining of week twelve. After having the part in hand and knowing I've been without a car for three months he says he'll see if he can get me scheduled at the end of the week which at best the repair will continue into week thirteen. I've asked when he actually had me scheduled for and why couldn't he schedule me sooner? This was Monday the same day as the part arrived. He didn't respond until Tuesday when he said he was working on it so I could have my car to drive on Wednesday. Wednesday I called to see how it went and he said he'll text me later with an update. It's now Thursday of that week , I asked what's up and his response was and is " for me to relax, he's working on it. Sam has been rude. He's ignored me, he's disregarded what i wanted done and did what he wanted to my car. He took money from inted for parts that he never paid for and spent it on himself or the shop bills . I then paid for the parts additionally. He wont produce any kind of invoice to keep track of spenderatures. I've requested several times . When I told him he no longer has any authorization to do any more work on my car. The next text he sent me said he was going to work on my car anyway. I told him I was picking up my car to have it ready to be towed elsewhere. I'm so mad I can't even think. To be continued read more

My husband and I both had an excellent experience at First Auto Tire & Wheel. Nasir and Bilal are very professional, knowledgeable, and hard working. I took my BMW one morning to get brake pads and rotors changed. I had taken it to a few other places and all of them wanted me to change all the pads and rotors. Nasir was very honest and told me my rear brake pads and rotors only needed changing. He showed me the wear and tear and explained the process. I was so pleased that he took the time to actually assess my car instead of just putting on extra services. He then ordered the parts and was able to get the job done on the same day in about 1.5 hours. My car drives so much more smoothly and I can feel the difference in my rear brakes! I was so relieved and the process was SO fast! My husband took in his Civic Type R to get his fenders rolled. Nasir and Bilal did a great job with that whole process and he got his car back the same day. He also had his rear brake pads done and was pleased with the entire service. The prices are quite affordable and fair- and most importantly they only do what is necessary. The first time I drove in, my VW Tiguan was running a fan long after I shut it off and it worried me. The lead mechanic explained that it was doing its job to cool the engine, and he said if there were no sensors on, there was nothing to fix. I was very impressed with this. The second time I drove in, I was worried about a cross-country trip and asked them to find whatever was going to break. They did, and they quickly fixed about 6 important things for a very reasonable price. There was one thing they did not want to fix because they said it would cost thousands of dollars more than the car was worth, and I should use that money to save for a new car instead. I can hardly describe how impressed I've been with this repair shop. The mechanics are honest, hard working, knowledgeable and friendly. This is not something I can say about any other car repair establishment I have ever been to. read more

I wanted some suspension work done on my car, so I called ahead and they said to bring the car in. As soon as I brought the car in - they'd already cleared a slot in the garage. Nasir talked to me, heard what I wanted, and told me not to worry. He set my expectations that it'll take a while and also explained that because of the nature of the work an alignment will also be necessary - this way there wouldn't be surprise charges. True to their word - they called me closer to end of day that the car was ready. It's been a few days and it's been running great. I'll be coming back for some repeat work. Complete dishonest mechanics who lied to me about service time claimed to be finished within 3 hours ended up taking 5 and half hours. My tire was a little on the pricey side, but it was worth the price for the experience I had. 10/10 dependable workers! My tire popped on the side of the highway and it was near 5:50pm -- most places near by close at 6. I called first auto tire & wheel to ensure I am able to get service prior to closing, even if it meant I arrive 15 minutes after they closed. The employee said "sure we can wait for you as long as you confirm you are coming." It gave me so much piece of mind knowing I was going to be taken care of, when I desperately needed help. Had a flat tire, was serviced with zero wait time, and our entire experience was about 10-15 minutes. We got the last tire of our type for 80 bucks (total price of 1 tire change service). While shopping for a new battery on a Sunday afternoon we were told that the national chain parts house did not install batteries! Bilal, who happens to also be shopping there, looked at our situation and advised us that our options were to take it to a dealer or buy the battery and find a mechanic to do it (not a small task for a Cooper). I am 200 miles from home. When we asked if he could do it (he had said he was a mechanic) he gave us a business card, said he couldn't do it today (Sunday) but said he'd do it Monday. When we dropped off the car, he took our information & explained the process. We got the car back today. If Balil hadn't of been there that afternoon, we would have been in a real problem situation. I brought my car because it was making a very concerning. They found the the problem sent me an electronic invoice which I liked because I could see it instantly ounce it was done. I dropped off my Hyundai Sonata to have my brake lights checked which weren't working. They were courteous and fixed the issue within about 2 hours. The quoted price was 200 but came out to 250$ which wasn't too big of a deal. As soon as I left the lot I noticed the check engine light was on so I went back right away. The mechanic just said I need to replace my o2 sensor when I never had this problem before. Didn't even take a minute to look at it. Not sure if I'll be coming back here. Long story short I went in with a problem and while it's fixed they left me with an even bigger bill to take care of elsewhere. Update: Found out today that they removed my o2 sensor fuse. Seems extremely dishonest for a mechanic to not only remove it but to tell me that I need to replace my sensor after bringing it back to their shop and telling him it was fine before I dropped the car off! We were driving on the I-5 and all of a sudden the left passenger window rolled down by itself. It was very scary as we were not sure what was happening. The next exit was Harris Ranch. We pulled into the only mechanic shop there, had the window band-aid fixed. The motor mechanism was busted which rendered the window down/up switch useless. Mrs. started contacting Auto body shops in Sunnyvale as we did not want to spend the entire long weekend with a messed up window. Most of them were closing early to get the heck out of town. First Auto Service gentleman who answered said he would be open till 4:00 PM. So, we told him we would be there by 2 PM. After arriving at Sunnyvale, we checked into our condo and immediately took the truck here. A gentleman said he was expecting us, and proceeded to dismantle the door. After looking at the part, he realized that they had ordered the wrong part. So, they had to reorder the part for a Sierra extended crew cab door. We ended up waiting a little bit longer. They stayed past their original 4 PM closing time. They fixed the truck and we collectively felt relief that we did not have to worry about this during our vacation/trip. Pros: They actually were anticipating us arriving. So, the owner had already ordered a part for the Sierra truck before we had even went here. I like it when vendors are proactive. The gentleman who actually serviced us stayed past his closing time to get the truck fixed. Cons: Expensive. $320.00 for the whole thing. But then, you cannot put a price on piece of mind, I guess. *L* read more

Excellent customer service. My brakes were making a scary scraping sound each time I break so I brought it in here on a Friday afternoon. I called around five and they told me to bring it in as soon as possible so that they could get me out quickly. I was driving my way over, about 10 minute drive, when Sam called me. He had me give him the specs of my car so he could order the brakes and have it ready for me when I got there. They got me set up once I arrived and when I mentioned yelp he automatically gave me a yelp discount too! I showed up at 5 o'clock an hour before they closed. They got me in and out within 40 minutes, I appreciate the quick service and I will be coming back for sure. read more

Sam has amazing customer service and the techs at this shop do a great job! I have gotten 2 synthetic oil & filter changes here so far for $60 cash out the door! I always call the day before to schedule an appointment and each time, Sam was able to accommodate me. I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes upon arrival. I also wanted to mention that he did an inspection of my brakes/pads the first time I came in and gave honest feedback about when to replace them. He didn't pressure me to have it done right away or that I should go back to his shop. I appreciated him inspecting and letting me know though! ***WARNING*** 5 easy fact checked objective things I can think off the top of my head about my customer experience since March 2020. --Currently operating under invalid license as of 7/3/2020 just check bar.ca.gov been invalid since May 31, 2020. --Can't produce copies of my signed work orders for taxes. --Can't produce copies of my signed final invoices for taxes. --Sublets out work without recording it. --I've spent $5,160 since March 2020 and my car is still not in working order after 2 transmission replacements. There are plenty of honest places to help support on the Covid-19 rebound in Sunnyvale--this is not one of them. Where do I start....... I came here by chance. I am friends with the guys at Calderon next door and I was over there just hanging out. I stopped by to see the cars they were working on as nosey I saw a 240sx with a engine that didn't look like a k34. It had a rb25 swap. Their head mechanic Goldberg used to run a performance tuning shop in Texas. I liked the fact that he isn't just an average mechanic that does routine work. That shows he has the ability to think systematically with new issues that come up and don't have a book to guide you on how to do it. I ended up starting with a oil change here. Can't beat their 24.95 special and right now they have a 55 dollar synthetic with yelp check in. They are fast and professional with their work. They have two lifts and usually can get you in and out real fast for small jobs. The owner sam is a go getter and works very hard to make sure the customer is satisfied. He pays a lot of attention to detail and his goal is to make sure you walk out with great running car and a smile on your face. Some of things They work on: but not limited to Imports Euros Old school American They can do clutch jobs. Engine swaps. Resurface rotors, recharge ac, rebuild differentials They also do turbo, twin turbo, and super charger installs. They are very cool if you want to stay around and watch them work, they have a lot of pride in the work they do and have nothing to hide. It is very hard to find a shop like this now adays. I forgot the location is good. Right in the heart of downtown sunnyvale. The biggest issue I found with shops is that you need to arrange a ride/ to drop off the car, but with this place locally to down town you can easily walk to target for any shopping needs as well as there are a lot of restaurants to keep you occupied while your car is being worked on. There are not enough hours in the day and I like to make the best use of all of my time. 5 star shop!!! read more

I think I just found my permanent auto shop! I recently moved to the area and had some issues with my car headlights and shift light. Called early that week to make an appointment for Friday, got in with no issues, whoo hoo. (They also do their best to accommodate same-day appointments ... just FYI) Came at 9am, was done by lunchtime. There's downtown Sunnyvale with shops, several coffee shops (Starbucks is a 3 minute walk away), as as well as the Caltrain station which is super convenient. Shout-out to Anthony who was communicative, friendly, and on top of things. He made sure his team didn't perform any work without prior authorization, and he did a great job explaining the cause of the issue and what they would do to fix it, along with a quote. Honesty, honesty, honesty! We rate this place based on it's honesty. During one of the scheduled maintenance checkup, my husband took his car to the dealership. He was told that the car needed a new AC compressor (cost over $1,000). I told him to take his car for a 2nd opinion, and I found this place on yelp. He talked to Sam and dropped his car off the next morning. When he picked up the car in the afternoon, he was told that there is nothing wrong with the AC compressor. They didn't charge him anything, even though my husband offered to pay for the inspection time. We will come back to this place again on our next car repair. read more

This place is great! I was having a clunking and creaking noise coming from my suspension due to another mechanics shotty work. Sam took my car for a test drive and immediately knew what the problem was. He told me he could disassemble and reassemble my springs and struts and was confident that would relieve the problem. Or I could pay for an hours worth of labor to "diagnose" the problem, but he didn't think that was necessary. He was up front with me instead of trying to juice me for my money. After a few hours of my car being in the shop, he gave me a call and told me he inspected my suspension and identified the problem. The problem was indeed coming from the springs and struts and he told me disassembling and reassembling the column would fix the problem. I gave him the confirmation to work on my car and it would be ready the next day. I picked it up the next day and he explained to me what was wrong with the suspension and that it was fixed. He told me if there are any problems that come up in the future, just bring it back in and he can take care of it. The parking lot is pretty small so just be weary of that when entering. There is also another shop right next to it so don't get the two shops confused. The mechanic is also really nice if you actually get a chance to talk to him. Sam is pretty helpful, but he doesn't talk that much. Overall, my experience here was worth 5 stars. If I have any problems with my car in the future, I will definitely be taking it back here. read more
